Relaxed and artsy and fun and classy: Just like me! (I wish.)
    2008-07-15 17:23:00
My wedding to Sweetie was a fun but low-cost affair; being young and poor, we wanted a nice wedding but didn't have a lot of money to spend on it. One of the areas where we cut costs was the invitations; we made and printed our own invitations at home. It wasn't very costly to do, we got to spend some time together doing it, and they turned out reasonably well.Had I known then about 1st Class Wedding Invitations, I definitely would have gone with them. The invitations that we could get back then were so expensive, and not, frankly, that nice for all that money. But 1st Class Wedding Invitations (which I looked at because a coworker mentioned getting invites from there for her reception) has great invitations at really good prices.I especially like the Palm Leaf Wedding Invitation, which manages to be relaxed and artsy and fun and classy all at once: One great thing they do at the site is let you ZOOM in on the invitation. Wedding invites are hig-quality: good paper, texture, ribbons.

    Stay Classy, Fox News.
    2008-07-03 10:02:16
The New York Times publishes a story that Fox News doesn't like (surprise, surprise). How do they respond? By requesting a correction? Publishing a denial? Discussing the factual problems with the article? No. Instead, they photoshop pictures of the author and editor of the piece by yellowing teeth, adding dark eye rings, stretching the photo etc (you can play find the differences at right).

    Classy dinner at De Balie
    2008-05-22 09:14:00
De Balie, located on Leidseplein, is more a cultural institute than a restaurant. Depending on the theme it offers movies, plays or discussion forums. But De Balie is also well know for its foyer area with bar. So far I had only been to De Balie for a drink or a coffee in the bar [...]

    A classy accessory: the FragFX
    2008-03-11 22:10:00
The FragFX Inserito originariamente da Abriael Many that try to play FPS and TPS games on their consoles find their fun spoiled by the horrible aim control offered by joypads. Even the best game becomes frustrating if you can't hit an elephant from a meter away, and that's what many console gamers experience everyday, expecially in this period, in which FPSs form the majority of the market. Luckily some hardware developers are beginning to release a few accessories that let you plug a mouse and a keyboard to your consoles and use them to replace your joypad in all games. One of such accessories, and by far the most advanced, in my opinion, is the FragFX for the PS3. Basically it's a plug and play controller that works with all games without any further configuration (even if advanced users will be able to tweak it quite a lot to fit their control and sensitivity tastes), and includes both a mouse and a sixaxis-compatible wii-like left-hand controller that someone is already def

Gotta Love Those Classy Red Sox Fans
    2008-03-03 20:13:00
Apparently there are a certain number of Massholes who think it's cool to beat someone up for wearing a certain baseball cap. From The Cambridge Chronicle:Cambridge - The official start to the 2008 baseball season is about a month away, but the age-old rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox is already getting ugly.A group of men — some with Irish accents — beat up a 23-year-old Cambridge man and sent him to the hospital after they spotted him sporting a Yankees baseball cap.Witnesses told po

    Jerry Jones, Crazy Yet Classy
    2008-01-03 09:03:02
There must be a unwritten rule among NFL owners regarding the hiring and firing of front office guys. Jerry Jones displayed that during the whole process of the Dolphins interviewing of Jeff Ireland… “First of all the way I feel is that it’s great opportunity for Jeff, one I really on a personal basis wanted [...]

Pamela Anderson is One Classy Broad
    2007-10-03 23:01:00
According to Perez Hilton, Pamela Anderson lied to her (then) husband Kid Rock about having a mis-carriage because she was mad about him going to a basketball game. It makes it might hard for me to determine who I hate more when I read stories like this.http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/naOQ

    Congratulations to a Classy Guy
    2007-09-17 18:46:00
Congratulations to Jim Thome, who hit his career 500th home run in grand style yesterday. He became the first player ever to hit it to win a game (the so-called "walkoff" variety), as the White Sox came from behind to beat the LA Angels, 9-7 in Chicago on Sunday. In a recent poll, Thome was voted second in all of baseball as far as "the nicest guy in baseball" just behind Sean Casey. Years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Willie Randolph, back when he was a coach on the Yankees. He was asked who the nicest guy he's ever met in baseball. He didn't hesitate. "Jim Thome, without question," he said.I've always been a fan of Jim Thome, and it's always great to see when good guys like him reach great accomplishments like this. And there's a truly great backstory regarding the fan who caught the ball and a gift Jim gave him for returning the ball:http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/09/17/fan-gives-back-thomes-milestone-ball/Once again, congratulations, Jim. May this be the first step you tak

    Staying Classy In San Diego
    2007-06-22 17:40:00
I arrived in San Diego last night around 9:30 PM, with my friend Ken meeting me at the airport. It was a five-hour trip from JFK, and it went rather smoothly. This is my second trip to this beautiful California city, as I was here in 2004 for the wedding of my dear friends Peggy and Ken in August of that year.I left my house around 3:30 PM yesterday, and got to the airport in about 35 minutes. I hadn't flown in almost two years, when I went to South Bend, Indiana to see Notre Dame's home opener in 2005. I found security at JFK to be even tighter than I remember it, and now they make everyone remove their shoes for inspection. As it was going on, all I could think of was, "Damn you to hell, Richard Reid!" (You may remember him as that jackass would-be terrorist who in 2001 tried to bring down an airplane with a bomb located in his shoe, but thankfully it was stopped before it ever happened.)I waited around the airport for my flight, and I found a lounge that had the Yankees-Rockies g

What Will WWE Do Now? Classy or Trashy?
    2007-06-16 06:45:30
World Wrestling Entertainment has a huge choice ahead of them in the next few days. For most of us, this choice is extremely easy. Yet, knowing the troubled history of “good” decisions that come out of the company in times of crisis, who knows what to expect? What could I possibly be referring to [...]

    Airstream oh so classy
    2007-06-06 18:04:51
I’d love to go on a 4 month trip traveling the US with my laptop, broadband my dog, my hubby and my airstream. An avid outdoorsman, Airstream founder Wally Byam married a woman who had little interest in the "adventure" of sleeping on the ground. When he built his bride a tent on a Ford Model T chassis that he could tow behind the car, marital bliss was restored. The project gave Byam an idea for a travel trailer that moved like a "stream of air" and in 1936, America got its first look at an Airstream. In 2000, the company’s motto, "Make only improvements, not changes," was shaken by architect-designer Chris Deam who gutted a vintage trailer to create a booth for the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. Deam’s ability to respect the history of the iconic aluminum shell, while bringing a lighter, more spacious feeling to the interior, was praised by Airstream purists and the design community. The design caught our eye at DWR, and w

Parents and Teenagers: Dressing for a Classy and Sophisticated Look.
    2006-07-21 11:14:00
Parents and Teenagers: Dressing for a Classy and Sophisticated Look. When you look around in the world what do you see that you would like to modify or transform? I see a messed up pop culture filled up with teenage girls and women, walking around on the streets, in the stores, and even in church, half naked! I am, a mother of three home-schooled teenage sons, which makes me kind of embarrassed by these tense moments together when half dressed teenage girls and women walk by and smile flirtatiously at my sons, while their bellies and breasts hang out of their shirts.Below are some summer wear guidelines for dressing for a casual classy and sophisticated look when going out in public.1. Shorts and pants should not hang off your hips so when you bend over your butt crack shows.2. Shorts should not be any higher than two inches above the knee. If shorts are too short they tend to inch up, exposing too much thigh. It is classier to only show a little bit rather than bare all. 3. Shorts should not be so tight that it looks like they were painted on where you can see the outline of a girl’s pubic bone and panty lines. Ouch! That has got to be uncomfortable.4. Best summer attire for wearing out for the classy lady is kaki shorts one inch above the knee with a tailored short sleeved blouse.5. Summer dresses and skirts should never be so short that when you bend down, your backside is exposed, or when you sit down, the dress inches up to the top of your thigh. This is your cue that the dress is way too short.Shirts should fit the wearer properly.1. Shirts should come completely down to the waist over the shorts or tucked into the shorts so your belly is not hanging out.2. If you have bigger breasts than a size A, you should wear a bra. There is nothing more sloppy looking than breasts that are left to sag in tight fitting shirts.3. Bra straps should not show if you are wearing a sleeveless blouse.4. Blouse or shirt should not be so big that when you bend down, your cleavag
