I took my first step on the black and white kitchen floor
Sometimes wonder if that house is even there anymore
I had my first glimpse of love when I was five
I watched two people split apart but still the three of us survived
I’ve seen the best, I’ve seen the worst
I wouldn’t change what I’ve been through

| | A HUGE Start For Clay Buchholz Today. | | 2008-07-11 04:16:00 | | Tonight at Fenway Park will be one of those nights when the excitement of the fans throughout Red Sox Nation will be a physical presence, an entity unto itself. Clay Buchholz will be making his first big league start since his two month "sabbatical" at AAA Pawtucket. He was sent down so the coaches could work with him to alter his arm/hand position, moving them farther away from his head when he's going to throw his fastball. This, they hoped, would allow him to rediscover the movement on that pitch, a pivitol one when combined with his killer curve. And ya know what? It seems to have worked. He had a 4-2 record with an ERA of 2.47 in nine starts. In four consecutive starts between June 14-30, he was 4-0 with an unbelievable ERA of (get this!) 0.47. His last start was his only recent blemish, but it is said that the strike zone that night was wildly unpredictable. So throw that one out. Here's what his catcher and his manager had to say...“You throw a no-hitter in your second outing | | By: Peter's Red Sox Forever | | |

| | A Clay Buchholz Masterpiece, But The Fourth Loss In A Row For The Red Sox | | 2008-04-27 04:41:00 | | Clay Buchholz pitched the second-best game of his life but ended up with only a loss on his record to show for it. An eighth inning mistake pitch (the pitch was fine, in my eyes!) allowed the Tampa Bay Rays' Akinori Iwamura to hit the go-ahead two run home run and his team beat the Boston Red Sox in a heartbreaker, 2-1. | | Precious Metal Clay Jewelry | | 2008-04-17 14:09:55 | | Precious Metal Clay consists of microscopic particles of silver or gold suspended in an organic binder to create a pliable material with a consistency similar to modeling clay. The tiny particles are only 20 microns in diameter. It would take as many as 25 of these particles to make a single grain of table salt. PMC is a patented material developed by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation of Japan in 1993. PMC is a wonderful medium for jewelry. Though I know how it works and have seen it in action, I still think it's magic! It's easy to work with because the organic binder has the consistency of modeling clay and holds the metal particles together. Once fired, you're left with a piece of fine silver or gold.Original PMC comes only in clay form. PMC+ comes in clay, paste, syringe, and sheet forms. PMC3 comes in clay, paste, and syringe forms. You can shape all of these forms by using your fingers or simple tools. | | A Rough Outing For Clay Buchholz | | 2008-03-03 04:49:00 | | Yes, it was a rough two innings for young Clay Buchholz Sunday in Fort Myers, as he pitched the third and fourth innings of Sunday's game against the Twinkies. He gave up four runs and four hits in that short span. He had this to say afterwards...“I’ve got to be able to get outs and not give up four runs in an inning. I know that,” Buchholz said. “It didn’t happen to me all that much last year so it’s a little bitter right now.”“There’s probably four or five guys here that are fighting for one spot,” Buchholz said. “I like competing against everybody and that’s what it’s all about. If they were just going to give it to you, you’d take it for granted and that’s not how it should work.”Yes, conceivably Tavarez or Colon could fill that number five slot in the rotation, but I have faith in Clay. It was his first spring start, and like Jon Lester, his mechanics were off. It's only natural. So I pretty much stole this one word-for-word from Joel over at Crummy Church Signs, one of my co-conspirators.What is the Clay Pigeon? Well, to truly answer that question, you had best visit the magazine itself and read the special interview with publishing magnate Rusty Gibbons. In short, however, the Clay Pigeon is a collection of the funniest of the funny. Some older, reworked, blog posts. Some brand new pieces. Some funny things we found online by unknown authors that you really need to be reading. It involves using extreme heat and pressure to mix and twist the metals to form swirl patterns—very intense, requiring heavy-duty equipment.Lindly Haunani's Polymer Clay Silver Leaf Technique Mokume Gane HeartsIn polymer clay terms, mokume gane is a method of stacking, layering, and laminating sheets of polymer clay together, and distorting them to create intricate patterns. | | Polymer Clay Jewelry | | 2008-02-14 12:42:36 | | Polymer Clay is a pliable, blendable polymer compound for artists and crafters. It isn't real clay, which is fine particles of silicate suspended in water. Polymer Clay is fine particles of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) suspended in a plasticizer, but it can be used like clay. Polymer Clay Cuff BraceletColored and Translucent Polymer Clay collage layered over a metal armaturePolymer Clay comes in dozens of colors, and you can blend them together like paints to make your own colors. The clay's pliability and ductility allow you to use techniques from glasswork, textile arts, and sculpture. It doesn't dry out, so you can sculpt and form it without worrying about a time limit. The firing process that fuses the particles into a solid requires only low temperatures, low enough to use your own oven. No expensive kilns to buy. Polymer Clay JewelryWhen fired, the clay gets hard enough to make it extremely durable, and it can be finished in various ways to obtain textures from glassy to stone-like. | | By: Designing Divas Handcrafted Jewelry Independent De | | |

| | Clay's birthday celebration | | 2007-10-08 09:00:00 | | Clay wanted to celebrate his birthday at FUN STATION. This time we only invited his cousins just like Cliff's birthday celebration. We took the kids to play at fun station and they were doing fun. As you see on the picture below... fun station is a place to swim in balls pool, crawl, slide, jump and climb! Parents are allowed to accompany their children but we were too old for this kind of activities so we were so exhausted! :-) Just like Amel said, we really had a good, tight sleep last night... hahaha..After playing for 30 minutes we called the kids to blog the ice cream cake and sang happy birthday for Clay... all the kids were sweaty from head to toe already! From the left: Ruth, Sharon, Clay, Tania and Timmy.Clay blew his 7 candles and we prayed together for him. After they were so full finishing their ice cream cake, they ran to play again... here they are at a bungy trampoline... Clay looks very happy, doesn't he?After they played for almost 3 hours, then my sister came with her daughter Melody... Cliff also woke up already from his nap, so Cliff and Melody joined them to play...Here is our happy family! Fortunately we remembered to take a picture together before we went home. Oh I was so tired, my arms and legs are still trembling until now!Ps. our helpers will return to their hometown soon and I also busy preparing our holiday, I am so sorry for not having enough time to visit your blogs these days. Today I just heard a bad news that one of my helper ( I have 2 helpers) will not come back again to work with me. I feel so sad and stressful as I have to find another maid for us... start to adjust with new helper all over again is quite stressful! Sigh.... But I guess there's a time for everything... may be God wants to help me to get off from my computer .. :-) I hope I will enjoy my holiday without thinking what will happen after the holiday is over... hhhh...

| | | Precious Metal Clay Pendant | | 2007-09-21 20:30:39 | | I'm constantly looking for new topics to write about. If I don't learn something new every day, I feel like I've wasted my time. If I can bring you something new every time I post, I'm a happy camper. I've written about PMC before, but I've barely scratched the surface. Precious Metal Clay is a fascinating medium to use in jewelry making. You start out with a gooey mixture of clay and metals. You mold it and texture it to your heart's content. When you fire it, the clay burns off, and you're left with a beautiful hunk of metal. The possibilities seem endless.Metal Clay Quilt PendantThis piece, designed by Hadar Jacobson, is definitely unique. Making this pendant is a 29-step process, and is quite involved. It's certainly not something a beginner would tackle, but it might inspire you to try something new someday. The drawings included in this tutorial are excellent. You can read the entire article at Lapidary Journal. She uses straws or metal tubes of different widths at different angles to get the effect of a quilt hanging on a clothesline. How clever! She molds the piece until she's happy with the shape, then dries it in a toaster oven. She uses an X-Acto® knife to cut a "window" and a pencil to draw the 9 or 12 squares. This woman's passion is texture. In fact, she says: "I used to a carry polymer clay in my bag and press it against everything that didn't seem to move: cracks in the ground, telephone poles, rocks, fences, doorknobs, wallpaper, fabrics, ribbons, old printed circuit boards from the recycle store, notebook covers, broken glass, even food." She then uses these textures in her PMC designs:"I like to combine textures that bear some relation to each other. (For this piece) I picked textures of walls and fences. Other options are different fabric textures, geometric shapes, a combination of symbols, figures, letters, or words. Almost any combination of textures can yield a pleasing result, but it is also nice to have a theme." Then the piece has to be fired for 2 hours at 1650°F! To oxidize it, she dips it in a solution of liver-of-sulfur. She buffs it with a coarse brush mounted on a rotary tool, until the liver-of-sulfur is removed from the surface but stays in the cracks to highlight the texture. Then you have a piece of wearable art! | | By: Designing Divas Handcrafted Jewelry Independent De | | |
