It is such a deep yellow. It also has strong fragrance. This rose has actually been trained into a pillar type, which is a first for me. So far so good.I picked ‘Royal Gold’ because I wanted this to be a home grown post. I have decided to include a couple of garden pictures from work. You will see why they are not posted very often. I am a lousy landscape photographer and don’t seem to be getting any better. Compressing the photos to fit in this space doesn't help, either. | Rickey’s Theater of the Imagination: Featuring Environmentally Conscious Free Climbing Frenchmen | | 2008-06-06 07:07:00 | | Alain Robert, a French stuntman known for climbing tall buildings, scaled the north face of the New York Times building on Thursday, ascending 52 stories to the roof and clutching a bright green banner, before police officers arrested him around 12:22 p.m. The words on the banner were illegible from the sidewalk, but from office windows inside the tower the slogan on the banner could be clearly read: “Global warming kills more people than 9/11 every week.” –The NY Times[And now, a running internal monologue from the aforementioned Frenchman as he makes his daring ascent up the building]2nd Floor: Why do I do this? Much like all other aspects of my life, I am guided by a certain je ne sais quoi. An undeniable joie de vivre. But my ultimate cause is to raise environmental awareness! | Steep Climbing | | 2008-06-03 14:58:00 | | Went out at 8 am this morning.. No real plan except to go for 3-4 hours and include some 30 second intervals at CP6 with 30 sec spin recoveries.. The wind took me in the direction of Mudanya, which makes no sense because the wind was blowing hard off the water.. Went up the 3 mile climb of "Old Mudanya Road", with views that never fail to make my jaw drop. The descent into Mudanya sucks balls- the road is rough as hell- making it impossible to gain any speed. Need full suspension for that. Where the old road meets the main highway, we go straight and head into Guzelyali/Burgaz.. Which takes me past my Uncle Orhan's house as the road winds it's way along the coast towards the town of Kursunlu. As luck would have it, my uncle's wife was out on the front porch. She's 70 and didn't recognize me until I took my Rudys off and said "It's me, Murat". They heard the news of my father's passing from my aunt in Istanbul.. Anyway.. | News From climbing.com : Repeat Crusher Sean McColl and Edmonton Local Thirza Carpenter Top MEC Canadian Bouldering Nationals | | 2008-05-27 04:22:12 | | By Chris DanielsonPhotos by Knut RokneFor the third consecutive year, Canadian wunderkind Sean McColl took top spot at the Tour De Bloc Bouldering Championships this past weekend (May 18, 2008), having little challenge defeating a strong field of contenders. With McColl a bit under the weather prior to the comp, there was early reverberation that top Edmonton locals Terry Paholek and Marshal German might be able to dethrone McColl. Paholek's exceptional style and technique and German's pure power, grit, and determination earned them 2nd and 3rd respectively, topping two of five boulders each. But McColl could not be outdone, sending all the finals problems, with a stunning flash of the fifth and final boulder. The problem had seen most other competitors struggling through a pinch and heel-hook power section to reach a set up for a monstrous and incredibly difficult final throw, but McColl campused through the bottom, and dispatched the double-clutch jump with apparent ease — an awed | | By: Federasi Panjat Tebing Indonesia Sleman Yogyakarta

Climbing Mount Improbable (Paperback)By Richard Dawkins
Buy new: $16.95 $11.5348 used and new from $6.88
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.comHow do species evolve? Richard Dawkins, one of the world's most eminent zoologists, likens the process to scaling a huge, Himalaya-size peak, the Mount Improbable of his title. An alpinist does not leap from sea level to the summit; neither does a species utterly change forms overnight, but instead follows a course of "slow, cumulative, one-step-at-a-time, non-random survival of random variants"--a course that Charles Darwin, Dawkins's great hero, called natural selection. Illustrating his arguments with case studies from the natural world, such as the evolution of the eye and the lung, and the coevolution of certain kinds of figs and wasps, Dawkins provides a vigorous, entertaining defense of key Darwinian ideas. | | By: Store Books Cheap

| News From Climbing.com : Crack Addiction — Fissures of the West, from seams to bomb-bays | | 2008-05-17 05:11:56 | | In North America, crack climbing means selfsufficiency: gauging size, assessing your rack, and slamming in gear as needed. It also means favoring technique over power, or rather, learning to harness your inner brute to cup and jam, ring-lock and foot torque, armbar, chimney, and chickenwing — because go-for-broke laybacking and praying for face holds often aren’t “technique” enough. | Climbing a Wall of Worry | | 2007-11-05 07:42:00 | | The S&P and the NASDAQ were flat last week. The Dow was down about 200 points, the result of its 300 + point sell-off on Thursday. Citigroup was the culprit. Its bigger than expected write-downs cost the Dow and cost its CEO his job. With the CEO of Merrill losing his job at the beginning of the week, it turned out to be a very bad week for financial company CEOs. (Is the CEO of Bear Stearns next?) The Fed cut rates by ¼ point. Cuts in Fed Funds rates usually boost financial stocks. Not last week. The jobs report on Friday was tremendous. 166,000 new jobs were created, twice the estimate, and well above the 100,000 mark, a | | By: MUTUALDecision Blog - The Mutual Fund Blog Dedicat | | |
