| I Hate Sports, But WTF Was That CNN? | | 2008-03-24 07:52:00 | | I'm not one who is given to really care much about sports. And that is easily understood if anyone has ever read my previous article about what would happen if I ever took over ALL sports. But I do have to admit, I admire Hockey for one reason...And that's for allowing them to pummel the piss out of each other for thirty seconds or so when there's a problem between players. What's NOT to like about that? Unlike other sports, when players have problems with each other, they rant and rave afterwards when the cameras hit the locker rooms about how "so-and-so" is a "this or that." Then two days later we hear of a sports figure getting shot, or shooting someone, or some other form of incident. You don't see that much, if at all in hockey. There's a problem? They deal with it right then!So what does CNN have to do with this? Well, this morning, (Mar. 24th,) on the Morning Express, they were ranting over how brutal it was that two Minor league hockey teams went into full melee including the goa | | By: Hoopy Frood Dude | | |

| CNN Debate Sham Is Worse Than We Thought . . .. | | 2007-11-30 09:44:59 | | John Fund from the WSJ is a must read today. | Nevada Debate Analysis: A CNN Critique | | 2007-11-15 22:47:00 | | This post is only an analysis of CNN's coverage of the Democratic debate tonight in Las Vegas.Of all the debates I've seen so far, be they Republican or Democratic, this debate was among the most poorly conducted. I admittedly like CNN and generally respect its programming, but I was particularly disappointed by its handling of the debate tonight. As a journalism graduate and a journalism student, I offer these criticisms:There's no point in having a moderator if the moderator doesn't have any control. Wolf Blitzer essentially let the candidates talk over him and ignore his feeble attempts to rein them in when they strayed off topic. As a result, this undermined Blitzer's authority and made the debate seem more like a free for all at times. Blitzer also should have exercised more control over the audience, as some members of the crowd started shouting at the candidates during their responses, which was entirely inappropriate. I realize that debates are often tough to moderat | | By: The 7-10 | | |

| CNN airs footage of home, safe house of artist marked for death by Al Qaeda | | 2007-11-14 06:17:00 | | Hotair: I have the clip, although for obvious reasons I’m not going to post it. They even kept the name of the town in which he lives onscreen for most of the segment so I can’t show you the bit with the nut in the burqa saying she wants to kill him. But here’s the strangest part, which isn’t clear from the Gates of Vienna post: Vilks is aware that they’re filming him in front of the two houses. It’s not some stock shot of the door and the light fixture; it’s him, entering the building, with the camera right in his face. Unless CNN led him to believe that they weren’t filming or weren’t going to use the footage, and there’s no reason to think that they did, it was all done with his willing participation. Which, given the bounty placed on his head by Al Qaeda in Iraq and the verdict of Swedish police that he’s not safe at home, makes him one recklessly special idiot. | | By: THE NEW BABYLON TIMES | | |

| CNN YouTube Democratic Debate: Big Government at its Worst | | 2007-07-24 07:01:00 | | The CNN YouTube Democratic Debate was the typical liberal panderfest. It also oozed with total support for big government. While I could easily write a book about the absurdity that took place, this editorial may seem more like a stream of consciousness. For the first time, we really saw who the Democrats are. Anderson Cooper, in my opinion, did an excellent job forcing the liberal Democrats to expose their true intentions. He made sure that all the questions were answered and I commend him for that. Let us take some time to examine some of what was said. When asked whether any of the politicians would work for minimum wage, all the politicians said they would but Senator Dodd. So, if that is the case, maybe we do not need a minimum wage after all. This was pandering at its worst.Earlier in the “debate,” John Edwards, with Stalinist zeal, advocated taking the power away from corporations through the use of government force. The scary thing is that the audience applauded. Tha | | By: Copious Dissent - Your Daily Dose of Liberty | | |

If you trust CNN...
(July 22nd, 2007 - 11:08PM)
Maybe you should compare the BBC's coverage of the Turkish election...
(From the BBC website)
...with CNN's coverage...
(From the CNN website)
Spot the differences? Here are some:
The CNN article makes sure to mention that the party is Islamist-rooted in the title.
The BBC used a photo of the Turkish PM, whereas CNN went with a Turkish mob.
The CNN front page mentions that many are "unnerved" by the winning party's "appeal to religious supporters."
The CNN article makes front-page reference to an invasion of Iraq, whereas the BBC has not emphasized this.

| CNN Posts Hollywood Donations to the 2008 Political Campaign, Misses the Real Story | | 2007-07-17 01:03:00 | | CNN posted a list of Hollywood celebrity campaign donations recently. As expected, they are all a bunch of liberals. What I found interesting, however, was not necessarily who contributed to each candidate, but who CNN highlighted.Instead of highlighting liberal celebrity idiots who contributed to multiple Democrat candidates, CNN posted a big picture of Tony Sirico, actor, “Paulie Walnuts” on “The Sopranos.” Sirico was one of only two people on CNN's list that contributed to a Republican. No sane person looking at the list below could possibly think that talking about Tony Sirico should have been the story. The story was clearly the absence of Republican celebrities. But, I guess CNN would not want to acknowledge the fact that Hollywood is filled with a bunch of left-wing lunatics. Now, it should be mentioned that CNN actually had to physically input each name that they posted on their site into the government database, so it is possible that many republicans were left out | | By: Copious Dissent - Your Daily Dose of Liberty | | |

| CNN vs Michael Moore | | 2007-07-11 04:34:00 | | CNN ran a story trying to discredit Michael Moore's latest political documentary, Sicko. They then made the mistake of inviting him onto the show for a rebuttal. Wolf Blitzer received the full hit, thankfully. | CNN has an Eye on Russia | | 2007-06-26 18:38:00 | | You know Russia has hit the mainstream when CNN decides to devote a entire week of programming to it. All week CNN is running a daily half hour series called “Eye on Russia: The New Dawn.” Presumably the series is connected to Putin’s upcoming trip to the US. The topics include Russia’s “resurgence,” Russian youth, business, “the future,” and arts and culture. The first topic ran yesterday and you can view segments of it online here. I must say that I think that former Gorbachev scribe Alexei Pushkov did an excellent job addressing CNN’s Jim Clancy’s loaded, and rather simpleton, questions. You could hear the disappointment in Clancy’s voice when Pushkov had to inform him that Russia isn’t going to be just like the West. “It’s not,” Clancy muttered with disappointment. What a boob.
