This is a great area for the kids to play and there are enough obstacles and interesting areas to keep them ocupied for a couple of hours.WCP covers an area of 50 ha and was first developed in 1979 on a piece of reclaimed land off Westcoast highway. There are various carparks and the park is divided into three core areas. Area 1 is the most easterly area, and is very quiet, with no facilities apart from toilets. This is a pleasant area for picnics. Area 2 is where the go-carting is located. There are also BBQ pits here and a bicycle obstacle course. Area 3 is the most popular because of the Adventure Play Area. These playgrounds are suitable for all ages, with various styles of equipment. It's smaller, less crowded and feels less touristy than its more famous neighbours.This September I wanted to hike the mountainside pathways between Positano and Amalfi (another story for another time!) so chose Praiano as a good point between the two. A three day stay full of delights!My single room in Hotel Perla on the edge of Praiano opened on to a sunny, little balcony with good views of the coast of dry, brown and green steep mountains falling to the blue sea. Perched above the Amalfi Coast road the hotel is quiet, but you walk only a few steps to the bus stop for buses to Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi or Salerno.I enjoyed a good buffet breakfast on the sea view terrace and the convenient Internet service in the lobby. It was an important year for me as I would be sitting for my LCE (Lower Certificate of Education). I was in the 9th year of education and preparing for this major examination which would determine my future. If I fail then I would be booted from school.As a prefect, I was busy with the school activities. Usually I would miss or will be late for the first morning class. The prefects would be busy having a meeting or dealing with the late comers. But the prefect room provided me comfort to do my revision as at home I had to either sit cross legged on the floor or lie down on the mat when doing school work. At times I would spread the mat on the foot path where the street lamp provided free lighting. I didn’t go to tuition classes as I could not afford to pay for it. I lacked proper studying atmosphere and also revision books. But today as I think of these dented days, I always think of the many unfortunate students around the world who not only get poor educational facilities but also go hungry and even don’t get education at all. Growing up the way I grew up had a lot of impact on my present day life. It always reminds me of the unfortunate, gives me a deeper meaning in life and makes my life more fruitful and meaningful.As soon as I had finished my LCE, I had a long vacation. By now my uncle in Taiping had a promotion and a transfer too. He was transferred to Pasir Mas- a small sleepy town in Kota Bharu on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. I was going to start saying the amount of Elmore Leonard adaptations had dwindled, peaking after soon Get Shorty, Out of Sight and Jackie Brown. However, it appears Leonard adaptations are a mainstay, whether theatrically or--mostly--on television. Gold Coast actually might not even have come from that period (except David Caruso’s hero is in the Out of Sight mold), given director Peter Weller’s experience with Leonard (starring in an adaptation scripted by Leonard) on Cat Chaser. But whatever. More interestingly--and more depressingly--Gold Coast was supposed to kick off Weller’s career as a director, but then he dropped out of his first theatrical (Incognito). It’s too bad, because even though there a few broken moments in the film, Weller does a good job. The worst broken moment is a car shot, on the hood, Caruso driving, the moving landscape visible, through the driver-side window, behind him. | Restuarant Review - Tiger Coast, North Berwick | | 2007-06-24 22:40:32 | | I ate at the Tiger Coast indian restaurant, 114 High St, North Berwick in East Lothian today. I wanted to try the all day Sunday buffet which costs £9 for an adult.
The buffet choice consisted of vegetable pakora and various salads. For the main course there were four meat curry dishes, chicken tikka, a mixed vegetable dish, bombay potatoes and rice. I thought that the chicken tikka consisted of very tender and aromatically flavoured meat and mixed vegetable dish was a complimentary blend in terms of flavour and texture. The pakora was not very fresh. The lamb curry dish didn’t taste much like lamb, maybe mutton and the sauce in the chicken korma was rather watery and the chicken overcooked.
