Compound in Red Wine Fights Ravages of Age
    2008-07-04 07:33:00
(HealthDay News) -- A key compound in red wine known as resveratrol appears to protect against many of the health ravages associated with growing old, new animal research reveals."It's very hard to extrapolate from this finding to comment on the benefits of red wine directly, because red wine has many other compounds besides resveratrol, including ethanol, which have very active biological effects," noted study author Rafael de Cabo, unit chief of the laboratory of experimental gerontology at the National Institute on Aging in Baltimore."But red wine is a good source of resveratrol," he added. "And, in this mouse study, we have shown that this particular compound has very strong positive effects on preventing cardiovascular disease, reducing heart inflammation, keeping bone health in terms of structure and function, and maintaining loco-motor and balance activity. So, if these effects translate into humans, it will have a very good impact on the standard of human health."De Cabo conduc

    My compound interest on Minvestment
    2008-01-07 16:44:55
Up to date,I am earning more than double on my investment on Minvestment(HYIP).My profit growth up to 110% and growing. Its compound interest that bring me this returns.I don't know how long this company would last and i am not try to refer anyone to join ,I write this is for a record that HYIP does give us some returns and it just up to our knowledge and decision to decide when to stop before it run away.Members will have the options to choose how long the principal will lock in before withdraw can be done. It's call lock in period for compound interest.

Effective Interest? Simple Interest? Compound Interest? Nominal Interest?
    2008-01-06 07:23:00
Simple interest is usually discussed and compared with compound interest. Simple interest is named as such because the interest calculated is not compounded. In contrast, when compound interest is calculated, nominal interest rate and effective interest rate would be the relevant interest rates involved in the calculations or discussions.ExampleSimple InterestABC Co Ltd. placed $100,000 deposit with Bank A for 1 year with interest of 3.5% per annum and calculated on simple interest method.Interest earned at the end of the one year period is therefore calculated as follows: -$100,000 x 3.5%= $3,500Compound InterestIn the context of compound interest calculation, you need to specify the following: -The total length of the placement of deposit. In this example, one year. The frequency of compound interest calculation. E.g. daily, monthly, quarterly & etc.The nominal annual rate of interest used.Assume monthly compounding of interest is adopted, with 3.5% nominal annual rate of interest, we usually say:"ABC Co Ltd. placed $100,000 deposit with Bank A for 1 year with 3.5% nominal annual rate of interest monthly compounding".The interest earned is calculated as follows:-FV = PV x (1 + i)nWhere,FV = future value of the deposit (the total value of the $100,000 deposit at the end of the 1 year period.)PV = the present value of the deposit (the value of the deposit at the beginning of the 1 year period, which is $100,000)n = the number of period in terms of compounding. For example, if the period of the deposit placement is 2 years with monthly compounding, n = 24 ( 2years x 12)i = the interest rate in percent per period of compounding. In this example, i =0.29667% (3.5%/12). Word of caution here, when you do the calculation, i is 0.00296667. Many make mistake in the calculation because they did not realise that i is expressed in percentage! Therefore, for this $100,000 deposit placement,FV = $100,000 (1 + 3.5%/12)12= $103,556.70The interest earned is therefore $3,556,70 ($1
