EPIC FAIL!Slashtards. Seriously, how do you keep doing it? How do you stay so inspired? I find myself struggling to keep up.First of all, they do support Windows and Mac. So, that's like 99% of all computers. Why don't we first worry about the people who don't have computers, instead of worrying about the 1% of computer users who just like being fucking annoying. But that last 1%, don't we care about them too? or wait just a second, do the Democrats not care about lusers? Could it be? Such an intelligent, polite crowd? What if they are the swing vote? Doesn't their quest for freedom synergize with the Democratic message? Don't we want them on our side?Even though their numbers are small, they're all on the internets! And like 23 hrs a day! They could all unite behind a common cause, organize, work together, and .... oh wait. Ha ha. I get it now. They can't even do that t... | | By: Linux Hater's Blog

| The Clinton Convention Conundrum | | 2008-08-14 21:49:00 | | Like a festering wound, Hillary Clinton continues to make news that complicates Barack Obama's convention plans. After a few weeks of wrangling and negotiating, Clinton and Obama finally reached a deal that would allow Clinton's name to be placed into nomination at the convention to ensure that "all 35 million people who participated in this historic primary election are respected and heard."The significance of this deal is that it should provide Clinton's supporters an opportunity to reach a sense of closure. Hearing delegates proudly proclaim their support for Hillary Clinton at the convention in front of millions of viewers would indeed be a historical moment that would demonstrate an act of good faith on behalf of Obama and a forging of unity on the Democrats' highest stage.Obama's hand was clearly forced by Clinton, as he most certainly wants the Clinton saga to be put to rest. So he accommodated Clinton to help the party move on. The sooner he brings the Obama vs. Clinton sto... | | By: The 7-10 | | |

| Clinton to Contest at the Convention? | | 2008-07-31 00:43:28 | | Over at The Moderate Voice Tony Campbell thinks its highly likely that the Democratic National Convention could prove to be a Clinton vs Obama showdown. I talked to a Clinton delegate here in Maryland and he told me that they have been instructed to vote for Hillary on the first ballot. To make things more interesting, there is a movement to swing 160 delegates from Obama to Clinton. If that occurs, Clinton could re-establish her campaign and face John McCain in the fall. The group, P.U.M.A (Party Unity My A**) claims that 15 delegates have switched from Obama to Clinton in July. There is still the possibility of a floor convention vote to fully seat the delegates of Michigan and Florida which would benefit Senator Clinton. Finally, the Obama flip-flop on the FISA bill has not been well received by the more liberal segments of the Democratic faithful....Where are the Clintons? They are patiently waiting for Denver. The only question is: will it be an easy nomination for Obama or one of... | | By: Dyre Portents | | |

| Some GOP Senate Candidates Skipping Convention - Why? | | 2008-07-26 17:12:00 | | DISLOYAL COWARDS ALLThere are nearly a dozen candidates for the US Senate (some incumbents) have decided it might be better for their careers and election chances if they basically thumb their nose at the Republican Party that sustains them. They are considering not attending the GOP convention in Minneapolis. Evidently they are so terrified of the "Republican" brand that they are quaking in their boots about being identified as Republicans. It leads to the question: Why the H-E-Double-tooth-pick are they even running as Republicans? Why not just follow Bob Barr and don't let the door hit you in the ...... | | By: The Pink Flamingo | | |

| McCain at the NAACP Convention | | 2008-07-17 12:25:43 | | He gave a solid, but not inspiring, speech which was pretty well received considering the audience's strong pro-Obama leanings. What's more important to me though is the fact that he actually bothered to speak there considering how few votes he'll garner for his troubles. However I think he seemed more like the McCain of 2000 than anything we've seen of late. It was a good first step by McCain to make the GOP seem like a more inclusive party with a few good ideas. You can watch the full speech here here here and here

| Ron Paul to Hold Protest Convention | | 2008-06-10 23:26:18 | | Just when you thought he was gone...From the Pittsburgh Tribune-ReviewRon Paul plans his own conventionMaverick GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul has booked an arena in Minneapolis for a "mini-convention" that could steal some of John McCain's thunder just days before he accepts the Republican nomination. A Paul campaign aide said the Texas congressman hopes to pack about 11,000 supporters into the Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota on Sept. 2, which coincides with the second day of the Republican National Convention at the Xcel Energy Center in neighboring St. Paul. Paul, 72, will announce details for the rally Thursday at the start of the Texas Republican Convention in Houston. The campaign hopes the daylong event will "send a message to the Republican Party," Paul campaign spokesman Jesse Benton tells the Tribune-Review. | Democrats' Demographics: A Convention Preview | | 2008-05-18 22:22:00 | | Super Tuesday Part V takes place on May 20, when Kentucky and Oregon have their say at the polls. These two states are similar to North Carolina and Indiana in that Oregon is considered Obama territory while Kentucky is considered Clinton's turf. The most likely result will be a split decision in which Obama beats Clinton in Oregon by a fairly comfortable margin while Clinton beats Obama in Kentucky by a landslide.Given that the results of these primaries are essentially foregone conclusions, what's the news value of these contests? There are two major questions that political observers are waiting to be answered: 1) What is the impact of John Edwards' endorsement, and 2) Will Obama's support among Whites continue to send warning signs to superdelegates?John Edwards placed his credibility on the line by endorsing Barack Obama last week. As one of the remaining heavyweights who had yet to endorse, Edwards' endorsement was big political news. And this endorsement essentially steppe... | | By: The 7-10 | | |

In 1990, he started a parnership that acquired them a franchise with Caldwell Banker. besides the real estate, EDR has ivestments in the structural steel industry in the US but being outsourced to Manila. He is truly the pride of HS Pillars of 74.I felt so proud having been with him. He is a changed man now (sabi niya), very different from the Ed Del Rosario whom Pokoy F knew in college and law school days. | Winning Ron Paul speaking time at the GOP convention | | 2008-04-08 14:16:35 | | That's what is now tactically the goal. Minnesota supporters of presidential hopeful Ron Paul hope the Texan will win some speaking time at the GOP National Convention in St. Paul. Whilst the Republican party chiefs are keen to state that John McCain will be the nominee, it still would be the best option to allow Ron Paul time to address the delegates. He would have two messages to offer. First, to those delegates who have never heard him speak live. They may well wonder what they passed up on! Second, the wider TV audience will also hear him, unless there is some Chinese-style editing. I guess few Americans have heard him in such an arena. So the Revolution continues to roll.... | | By: A View from Middle England by Arden Forester

| UN Framework Convention on Climate Change meeting in Bali this December | | 2007-08-20 01:58:00 | | As an energy exporter and a carbon-intensive economy, Australia can play a decisive role in the international response to climate change. The Government's pillars might at first look superficially impressive. But when we examine the substance, it becomes clear that the five pillars don't actually hold up much weight. The first pillar, support for progress towards a new global framework, is the Government's most abject failure. This failure began with a negative approach to the original Kyoto Protocol negotiations, which saw it achieve the dubious honour of being one of only three industrialised countries to negotiate an increased target of emissions from the 1990 baseline level.

| SABR Convention in St. Louis | | 2007-07-09 03:02:57 | | At the end of this month, I’m going to be attending the SABR Convention at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in downtown St. Louis. I’m flying in on the 25th and leaving on the 30th, allowing for plenty of time to mingle with other baseball-minded folks and exchange ideas and anecdotes. I’ll probably be in a trade deficit when it comes to the anecdotes, though…
If anyone who’s read The Pastime, or any of my other work (Catfish Stew at BaseballToaster.com, A Minor Consideration at MVN.com, occasional work for Beyond The Boxscore, various random contributions, and some posts at Athletics Nation) would like to meet up and chat, drop me a line at [rarmbrust^^^at^^^gmail^^^dot^^^com, without the ^s].
I’ll look forward to seeing you at the convention, the Cardinals-Brewers game, the vintage baseball game at the Arch, and around the Adam’s Mark Hotel.

| Baguio promoted as Philippines convention capital | | 2007-06-17 18:34:45 | | by Dexter A. See
BAGUIO CITY — Baguio City, generally regarded as the “Summer Capital” of the Philippines, may yet have another feather in its cap — RP’s Convention Capital — courtesy of local leaders of the travel and tourism sector.
“We want all roads leading to Baguio not only during summer, but throughout the year,” said Dangal Guevara Jr., an officer of the Baguio Conventions and Visitors Bureau (BCVB).
Noting this mountain city’s consistently cool climate even as lowlanders swelter in blistering heat, Guevara said that selling Baguio as a convention center can’t be too difficult. He said that people flock to Baguio for several other reasons. “There are many ways to package Baguio — as a university city, a honeymoon haven, or a travel and adventure destination.” (more…)

| | By: alexTV - Erlaubt ist, was Spaß macht!
