They are woven at their core. They do have coating over that weave. once the sun and weather destroy the coating the weave begins to seep water.The cover pump had been running for some time and was showing no progress. I was slowly draining the pool through the cover. When I can, and I have to be very careful. I place a leaf blower under the cover to raise the cover and run the water to the pump. This also lifts the cover off the water to stop the seeping and I can try to find where the seep is located.This cover was seeping pretty much all over.I had to get my big submersible pump to get ahead of the leak. If you try this be careful... too much air or a cover too close to the edge will cause it to slide right in. Even in perfect conditions you can't just leave the blower forcing air in.
