| Cowboys CB Jones Wants to Drop the “Pacman” Nickname | | 2008-06-22 13:53:03 | | Trying to change his image, “Pacman” no longer wants to be known as such. Yes, Adam Jones, the new Cowboys CB who is known for his issues off the field more than his play on at points, is telling the media not to call him “Pacman” anymore. “There’s really just a lot of [...] | | By: NFL GridIron Gab | | |
| | Cowboys to Use Felix and Pacman Jones at the WR Spot? | | 2008-06-12 07:12:24 | | The Dallas Cowboys are all about flash and style, and this past offseason one of Jerry Jones’ goals was to add a few players who would bring that. The owner feels he did that with bringing in Felix Jones in the draft and making a deal for troubled CB Adam “Pacman” Jones, both of which [...] | | By: NFL GridIron Gab | | |
| | Cowboys, Owens Agree To Four-Year Deal | | 2008-06-03 07:06:50 | | It looks as if T.O. and the Cowboys have decided to keep their marriage intact. The “Dallas Morning News” reports the Cowboys and wide receiver Terrell Owens have agreed to a four-year deal that runs through the 2011 season. Owens was entering the final year of a three-year, 25-million-dollar deal he signed in 2006. Owens, [...] | | By: NFL GridIron Gab | | |

| | King: Cowboys rank ahead of Giants right now | | 2008-05-06 10:00:06 | |
Peter King came out with his off-season team rankings yesterday in his weekly 'Monday Morning Quarterback ' column.
He placed the defending Super Bowl champion Giants sixth on his list behind New England, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Dallas (ugh!!) and San Diego.
The only one on the list that really bugs me is Dallas. Talent-wise, I get it. The Cowboys haven't proven they can win when it counts, though. The Giants, obviously, have.
Here is what King said about your defending champions.
This is a team that caught fire at the right time and rode the wave to a title. Was it the best team in football in 2007? For the last two games of the year, yes. For the rest of the season, not even close. But the last two games of the season are the biggest.
Funny how a season progresses: In Weeks 9-14, the Giants went 3-3, losing three times by double digits and winning by six, five and three points. Then, ka-boom.
Moving forward, the Giants will be fortunate if Michael Strahan plays. I think he'll | | By: Big Blue View
| | | Dolphins acquire LB Ayodele, TE Fasano from Cowboys | | 2008-04-26 01:28:49 | |
I'm a little late to the party with this one. While I was out tonight, I received a surprising text message that read "Dolphins acquire Akin Ayodele and Anthony Fasano." And to my delight, the text wasn't a joke.
Various sources, including ESPN , the Palm Beach Post , and NFL.com are reporting that the Dolphins have indeed acquired LB Akin Ayodele and TE Anthony Fasano from the Cowboys in exchange for Miami's 4th round pick.
Ayodele, who will be 29 in September, spent his first 4 seasons in Jacksonville. He won the starting job midway through his rookie season and really excelled from there on out while in Jacksonville, averaging 87 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles in his 4 years there. He then went on to Dallas, where he didn't make as much of an impact as I thought he would. But at 6'2, 250, Ayodele has the speed that Bill Parcells is known to covet from his middle linebackers. He's a player I've always liked, dating back to his Jac | | By: The Phinsider
| | Dolphins Trade 4th Round Pick to Cowboys | | 2008-04-25 21:43:00 | | OK, so much for my mock draft. I planned on the Dolphins taking a TE in the 3rd round, but now the Dolphins have traded their 4th round pick for Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele from the Cowboys. This gives us the necessary depth at TE and LB. I like the Fasano trade because we weren't likely to get anything much better in the draft. That does rule out my draft picks, and I might consider doing a new mock draft before 3pm tomorrow. At least I was right about the Fins going after another TE. They may go elsewhere with that 3rd round pick now. Don't be surprised if they go after the best DB available with that pick. | | By: State of Miami | | |

| | Pacman, Cowboys a perfect marriage | | 2008-03-28 10:35:12 | | Have the Dallas Cowboys offered Tennessee a player along with a 7th-round draft choice for Adam "Pacman" Jones? That seems to depend on who you ask. Blogging the Boys has a great breakdown of the Cowboys' apparent pursuit of the troubled former Tennessee star. Pacman apparently wants to be a Cowboy, and Dallas seems to be at the top of the list of potential destinations for Jones -- provided of course that Roger Goodell lets Pacman back in the league. All I can is good luck controlling THAT locker room, Wade Phillips! Add Jones to Terrell "Crybaby" Owens, Tony "Mr. Simpson" Romo, Tank Johnson and some of the other personalities in that locker room and Phillips will have no chance. There are also rumors that owner Jerry Jones is interested in enigmatic Cincinnati wide receiver Chad Johnson. Yikes! Personally, as a Giants' fan, it wouldn't bother me at all to see the Cowboys bring in all these guys. With the loss of various coaches and front office personnel, Jason Garret | | By: Big Blue View | | |

[end note] According to DallasCowboys.com: For the last 10 years, Flozell Adams has been protecting the Cowboys' starting quarterback. But he was only a few hours from being unprotected himself. Instead, the Cowboys avoided free agency with their starting left tackle, signing Adams to a six-year deal late Thursday afternoon. With free agency officially beginning at 11:01 p.m. (CST) Thursday night, Adams would've been able to start negotiating with other clubs. Now he returns with a contract that will likely keep him in a Cowboys uniform for the remainder of his career. | | By: The Phinsider

The Cowboy's logo and uniforms may be the most recognizable of all of the NFL jerseys. However, these famous uniforms lack some of the flash that would be able to land them a top three finish. | | Cowboys Sign Zach Thomas | | 2008-02-23 12:32:00 | | Whew. At least he won't be a Patriot.Thomas returning to Texas was probably the best fit for him aside from the Patriots. He gets a chance to play at home on an excellent football team and has an opportunity to win that coveted ring. It will be very weird to see him in a Cowboys uniform though. Not sure how much of an impact he will have though. He didn't play much last year and is getting older and who knows if those concussions will return. The bright side is that he will be playing on an infinitely better team so he has teammates to help him make plays.Good luck to Zach in Dallas. I will be rooting for the Cowboys next season to do well. | | By: State of Miami
| | Cowboys land LB Thomas with one-year deal | | 2008-02-23 11:48:57 | | [editor's note, by Matty I] Thanks to LeftCoastFinFan for getting this posted. I've just edited it and reformatted it for front-page posting. [end note] From Rotoworld: Cowboys agreed with LB Zach Thomas on a one-year, $3 million contract. Profootballtalk.com reports he'll earn a $1 million signing bonus with a $1 million base salary. Another $1 million is available in incentives. It's technically a multi-year deal, the structure essentially makes it a one-year committment. Thomas is not guaranteed to start in front of Bradie James or Akin Ayodele, but he'll be part of a solid interior rotation for the Cowboys deep linebacker group. Expect his tackle numbers to go down, but Dallas probably offered him the best combination of money and possible wins. Source: FOX Sports | | By: The Phinsider | | |
| | Golf, cowboys and curtains. | | 2008-02-21 18:38:22 | | As a kid I loved cowboys. I had a huge cowboy bedspread and curtains, but the fad didn't last very long. However, it is good to know that the theme still runs strong and cowboy curtains are still available. I must admit they are much more sophisticated that the ones I had. I found them on the western cowboy home decor website, which is a really great site should you be interested in tastefully decorating your house with a western theme.

| | Cowboys tag Ken Hamlin | | 2008-02-21 13:17:32 | | Adam Schefter is reporting that the Cowboys have indeed franchised safety Ken Hamlin. From a Cowboys standpoint, it makes a lot of sense. Now they get extra time to try and work out a long-term deal with their pro-bowl safety and, in the meantime, only have to pay him just over $4 million in 2008 if a long-term deal isn't struck before the season. For the Dolphins, though, this eliminates one potential player who could have been available to boost Miami's secondary. Of course, other options at safety do exist. The Giants are yet to re-sign Gibril Wilson and Madieu Williams is expected to leave Cincinnati this offseason. Really, though, with Hamlin gone, the only safety I'd want the Dolphins to really target now is Wilson, who really came into his own in 2007 as part of that Super Bowl Champion team. Another low priced option, though, might be Eugene Wilson. The only problem there is that injuries have really gotten to him the past couple of ye | | By: The Phinsider | | |
| | Some Rumblings About a Cowboys-Fins Trade | | 2008-01-27 20:53:00 | | About a month ago, I wrote about the possibility of a draft trade between the Dolphins and the Cowboys, who are eagerly hoping to land Arkansas tailback Darren McFadden.I originally dismissed it because the trade value chart simply doesn't add up. The two 1st round picks the Cowboys have in this April's draft aren't enough to merit trading the #1 overall pick. However, according to PFT now Chris Mortensen is reporting that there is still the possibility of this trade happening.Apparently, the dealbreaker is the rights to Marion Barber. Since he is a restricted free agent, one of two things could happen: Dallas could trade one or both of their 1st rounders and Barber in a sign-and-trade to the Dolphins, or they could slap the highest tender on Barber, which would force anyone who signs him away to compensate the Cowboys with their 1st and 3rd round picks. Those picks in turn could be used to sweeten the deal for Miami.Obviously, I would prefer some sort of wild scenario where someone is foolish enough to sign Barber at the highest tender and then Miami gets 3 first round picks. In a more realistic scenario, I suppose I would be content with two late firsts and Barber for the 1st pick. I don't know if Dallas would do that, but I don't think they have much of a choice. Barber is great and all, but he has little value to a team that counts RB as it's only real position of strength. We don't need him. Then again, Dallas doesn't need McFadden. Jerry Jones is just infatuated with his fellow Razorback. All I know is that this makes the next 3 months very interesting for Dolfans. The future of our franchise could very well be hanging in the balance here. One player won't change this team, especially if he comes with a 60+ million dollar price tag. Trading down is clearly the best option, so I am hoping this deal actually works out. | | By: State of Miami | | |

| | Broncos Complete Preperation For battle With Cowboys | | 2007-08-18 05:53:30 | | The Broncos will end the road portion of the exhibition schedule tomorrow night against the Dallas Cowboys. After a week of travel that bordered redicula, the Broncos are probably looking forward to the comforts of home. Spending the past three days in the sweltering Texas heat surely has helped the conditioning of a team that has looked, well, less than conditioned to start each of the past two seasons, but it has definitely taken it's toll on the health of the roster. First, Andrew Mason gives us his report, which included the following nuggets -- MUSTARD AT RIGHT TACKLE: With injuries riddling the Broncos' complement of tackles, Shanahan said he had "no choice" but to move Chad Mustard from tight end to tackle. First, running back Julius Jones ripped the legendary Tuna, who resigned after last season. "Maybe I was being told a little bit where to run and wasn't really able to use my instincts," Jones said at minicamp. "Maybe I listened to (Parcells) a little too much and was kind of running like a robot." Next, of course was Terrell Owens, who said he got "nothing" out of his year with Parcells. He was blunt about his feeling that new coach Wade Phillips is easier to play for. "Everybody knows he's a laid-back coach, obviously a little different than Bill. ... I don't think you have to be a disciplinarian to get your point across," Owens said. "I think having a new head coach is good for everybody. "It's a little bit more relaxed.
