| White Crane Boxing In Brief | | 2008-05-05 22:27:13 | | White Crane Boxing is a Southern Chinese martial art which originated in Fujian province and is now practiced throughout the world. The Chinese call this extremely popular Northern style of Wushu "Pao-hao," "Pak Hok," "Bak Hok," or "Ba Fan." It is from the Lama or Hop Gar style of Wushu, which emulates the movements of the crane. It focuses on repeating a rapid series of hand and foot techniques. The principle of "revolving force" is important. | A couple “transactions” for “high profile” players according to Crane Kenney | | 2008-01-29 02:26:00 | | I’m sure most of you have heard throughout the day that Crane Kenney gave an interview earlier today where he discussed naming rights among other things. He also mentioned near the end of the interview that Hendry has a couple transactions in which he thinks will get done and that both are for high profile players.
It’s easy to think of the first player—Brian Roberts who the Cubs and O’s have been discussing since Christ was a young child. However, with Angelos’ involvement and supposed shutting down of yet another trade (Bedard to the M’s), it’s hard to imagine that he’s not going to do the same, if he hasn’t already throughout this long absurd process, with Roberts. Who is the other player? Does Marlon Byrd count as a high profile player? The guy is a 4th outfielder. Does any 4th outfielder count as a high profile player?
Kenney did mention that they were offensive players (didn’t say this explicitly, but said they want some additions who can help more than every 5th day).
Since there’s nothing else to do, let’s brainstorm some “high profile” names that might feasibly be acquired. I’ll throw out the usual suspects (Greene, Furcal, Figgins) | | By: Another Cubs Blog | | |
