| | Google Develops a New Ability to Crawl Flash | | 2008-07-01 04:54:28 | |
Good news for webmaster running a Flash website! Google has announced that, working with Adobe, they have developed a method of crawling textual elements of Flash on your website!
Previously the Google Webmaster Guidelines had warned against the use of Flash on websites as the Google Crawlers were unable to read the content, making Flash sites invisible to Google.
Now that Google have included a version of Adobe's Flash Player in their crawler the headache for webmasters of Flash sites will be reduced. Even better news is that the Google crawler will be able to read a wide range of Flash elements on websites, including menus, buttons as well as self-contained Flash websites.
The information Google will pick up from your Flash website include all of the text a user sees when browsing the site. This will help Google discover the full depth of your website as it is now able to pick up links within the Flash on your site.

| | Is Spyware Slowing Your Computer Down To A Crawl? | | 2007-07-17 00:23:00 | | by: George PeirsonEveryday more and more computers are becoming infected with Spyware and Adware (advertising tracking). No matter where you go on the web, someone is trying to sneak something on your computer. From honest web sites placing simple logon cookies, to paid advertising tracking your movements on the web, to malicious software that is designed to record your keystrokes and discover your passwords, Spyware and Adware have together become the web’s number one problem. Many of these programs are down right dangerous and seriously threaten your online privacy and identity. But even the simple and supposedly benign Adware programs can cause you serious problems.Spyware is any program that installs itself onto your computer with the intent to spy on your activity. This can be recording your online searching habits, or whatever you type on your keyboard. Adware is not much better. | | Monday Evening Internet Crawl | | 2007-06-05 02:14:50 | | We've had record numbers of Bills fans visiting Buffalo Rumblings today; for those of you who visited the site for the first time today, welcome! I urge you to create a free account (this takes 10 seconds) and post comments and Diaries! We have a budding little community of Bills fans here, and we'd love to have you join us! Now for the Bills stories making headlines around the Internet today... Chris Ostrander, a contributor at The Official Site, has a very nice article on UDFA wideout Jemalle Cornelius: One thing working in his favor is his ability to play any receiver position, as well as special teams. His versatility got him on the field in many situations at Florida, and it is something he hopes to use to his advantage in Buffalo. The fact that the coaches think enough of Cornelius to have him learn two wideout positions right out of the gate speaks volumes to me. I've always thought this kid had a shot at making our final roster; this should be a confidence boost for C | | By: Buffalo Rumblings | | |
| | Friday Afternoon Internet Crawl | | 2007-06-01 22:58:14 | | Here are the Bills-related stories making headlines around the Internet this afternoon... Tight end Robert Royal will miss the remainder of OTAs after "spraining" his shoulder in an awkward collision with two defenders in yesterday's workouts. The injury will not require surgery and Royal will be 100% for training camp in mid-July. Good thing, too - he's going to be an integral part of our passing game (especially near the goal line), and having him healthy is key as J.P. Losman continues to mature as a pro quarterback. It's reassuring to get a quick diagnosis and put to rest any notion that he'd miss significant time. What a surprise - more Darwin Walker talk, this time from Connor Byrne: For Buffalo, the sad thing is that the Walker situation may be foreshadowing a trio of future contract issues with other Bills, namely Aaron Schobel, Lee Evans and Jason Peters. Those are three of the team's peak performers, and all have deals that could lead their respective agents to bad | | By: Buffalo Rumblings | | |

| | Elvis Kong on a pub crawl | | 2007-04-26 00:39:10 | |
For a long time now, I've been planning on becoming Elvis Kong and visiting the great Lou Jordan, Elvis-impersonator to the stars!! Sadly, I turned up but Elvis hadn't just left the building, the sod hadn't even turned up!.
I was a little nervous, I'd built this up in my head and had it down that this was going to be my best Vince Kong outing ever, so to try and settle my nerves, I grabbed a Carlsberg and turned on the Spurs v Sevilla game. About twenty minutes and three lagers later, I started to worry that drinking is only going to make me want to go to the toilet, and going to the toilet in a gorilla suit and an Elvis costume, in a busy pub, is going to be quite a challenge. I mulled this over with the fourth beer and decided that this one would be my last, thankfully it really was my last, I'd only bought four.
The pub where Elvis was playing was probably about a kilometre away and I'd decided to walk the whole way. Leaving the flat was brilliant and seconds later I was | | By: World of Vince.com | | |
