Crocodile Tears in your Beer: Aussie barflies get visit from baby croc
    2008-06-27 08:18:58
Those of us who grew up watching professional wrestling had, at one point or another, to come to terms with the fact that the stereotypes represented in the rasslin’ ring were a few metal folding-chair head-shots apart from reality. So when the wrestling world told us that Australia was comprised of a mix of people that were halfway between Outback Jack – a “Let’s capitalize on Crocodile Dundee’s popularity” 80s wrestler who lost more matches than he was in – and the Bushwackers, two toothless stereotypes, who marched around the ring, swinging their arms above their heads (see below -- it's a bit like power-walking, but with a lot more arm-swinging and cretinous head bobbing) in a fashion not encountered since one of us observed it replicated by a very drunk English football fan on the streets of Amsterdam. (The Bushwackers, it should be noted for the sake of people who would lose sleep tonight if this correction were not made, were actually from New Zealand. The best way

Calls From Crocodile Eggs Serve as Alerts
    2008-06-25 04:56:39
Observatory : By HENRY FOUNTAIN Babies make a lot of noise when they leave the womb, crying and otherwise carrying on. Baby crocodiles, on the other hand, make noise even before they are introduced to the cold hard world. In the week or so before hatching, the infant crocs make a sort of cooing sound from the [...]

    Crocodile
    2008-06-08 05:00:00
Crocodiles are among the more biologically complex reptiles despite their prehistoric look. Unlike other reptiles, they have a diaphragm, cerebral cortex and four-chambered heart. Their external morphology on the other hand is a sign of their aquatic and predatory lifestyle. A crocodile’s physical traits allow it to be a successful predator. They have a streamlined body that enables them to swim swiftly. Crocodiles also tuck their feet to their sides while swimming, which makes them faster by

Pilliyan’s Visit to Dalada Maligawa and crocodile tears of looters of Jaffna library
    2008-05-26 23:54:13
One of the very first functions of Chief Minister of Eastern province was to visit Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy. This happened to be a historic occasion in Sri Lanka history. Sri Dalada Maligawa was attacked by LTTE terrorists in 1995 killing many devotees and severely damaging the sacred place. Dalada Maligawa is the most sacred place of whole Buddhist world where tooth relic of the Buddha is placed. Sri Lankan Buddhists are privileged to have this holy asset that is respected by millions of Buddhists in the world. From ancient days the tooth relic is cared and worshipped in similar manner to worshipping the living Buddha. It is sheer cultural jealousy of LTTE terrorists that lead to attack of Sri Dalada Maligawa. Not only Dalada Maligawa, but also Jaya Siri Maha Bodhi (Bo tree) of Anuradhapura was made a blood bath by ruthless LTTE terrorists. Hundreds of devotees were brutally gun down on a poya day. There were mass murdering of Buddhist monks in Aranthalawa and many other occasions.

Superiority of Alligator vs Crocodile Leather
    2008-04-20 11:39:56
Many products today are made from alligator or crocodile leather, from purses and shoes to custom leather dog collars. When trying to determine whether alligator or crocodile leather is more superior leather or more luxurious, there are many factors to consider before making a final determination. Generally, alligator leather is viewed as the nicer and more luxurious leather, with more symmetrical scale patterns and a softer hide. Alligator has a smoother and more "three-dimensional" feel than crocodile skin, and alligator hides typically command the highest prices. It is one of the most highly sought raw materials by the manufacturers of luxury items. Although extremely rare, a very few number of crocodile skins can compare with the quality of alligator hide. These would include "Nile crocodile" and Australian saltwater crocodile. When processed and tanned correctly, these very rare and expensive crocodile skins can meet or exceed the luxuriant nature of alligator skin.Species of Rept

Are You Scared Of The Crocodile?
    2008-03-24 21:55:46
You are thinking...Crocodile???? What I mean is are you scared of rejection? Do you hate cold calling? Are you scared of someone telling you NO on the other end of the line. I was reading an article today about a gentleman that just hated rejection so he sought out a way to grow his business without rejection - at least rejection face to face or during a phone conversation. Here is what he did:1) You need some money to spare - This is your business so you need the money for business expenses that will be written off at year end.2) With the money you need to buy promotional DVD's, tapes, brochures that contain information about the product or business you want to share with others.3) Do a search on Google or another search engine to find Spam - Free business opportunity lists that contain home addresses.4) Type a good letter, To Whom It May Concern or Future Business Partner or Nutrition Product User - whatever suits your needs. I would make the letter short and to the point. If it is no

Crocodile Show in Langkawi Island, Malaysia
    2008-03-01 13:09:31
Crocodile shows are very popular in Thailand and in Malaysia. In Malaysia I looked at it on Langkawi Island. Crocodile shows can provide an unforgettable experience. First, two young men took out a crocodile from the pond, and then began to play with it. At one excellent moment, the man pushed his hand into the [...]

A crocodile teapot of mine made in 1995 which someone recently put on eBay fetched an unremarkable £45.44 on 24th February 2008. It was not a popular design with customers, so not many were made...one of my favourites needless to say!

Crocodile Bites Off Arm…No Big Deal
    2008-02-20 06:00:02
Most of us probably have an off day at our job from time to time.  Fortunately, this does not usually end with our arm being bitten off by a 440-pound crocodile.  And if it does, maybe it is time to change your line of work. Veterinarian Chang Po-yu was reaching through iron bars to remove tranquilizer [...]

The Muppet Show, Elton John, Crocodile Rock
    2007-10-22 07:01:42

    After my smile, crocodile?
    2007-10-19 10:33:00
Excessive alcohol in one’s system can, like the very best cocaine, result in a sense of fearlessness and a Friday night that is a damn sight more entertaining than it would have otherwise been. However, it can also prove dangerous if this lack of fear results in you, say, saying making an ass of yourself at a charity luncheon that was supposed to be alcohol free, or, in the case of the Aussie guy whose horrific drunken night out is currently making the rounds, having a crocodile chomp down on your face. News sources did not mention if the man had been tilting a few at the travel agent’s office; his motivations are unclear for having chosen to spend part of his camping his holiday in Cow Bay, in Northern Australia, along a strip of beach later described by a local doctor as “crocodile highway”. This is not the kind of place where you’d want to be out backstroking in the moonlight since, as far as crocodiles are concerned, the night time is indeed the right time for munching on

Rumble: My Life in Four Bags #3: Crocodile Clamps
    2007-05-21 08:02:00
What more is in those four bags I always travel with, making the life of an aid worker, a “globetrotter by necessity”, sustainable? Well.. Crocodile clamps !Going from hi-tech to low-tech. I always carry a set of wires with crocodile clamps. Easy to make connections between incompatible cables or to bridge video/audio/telephone connections, or to test any connection. Last time I used them extensively was on the boat trip we made from the UK to the Canaries. When lightning took out most of the electronics. I used the crocodile clamp wires to test the shortwave transmitter, the radio fax receiving software, and the boat’s antenna tuner.Don’t leave home without it.
