Being a pet owner is a wonderful opportunity to find unrequited love. There is just something about owning a pet that can bring out the best, or worst, in people. An animal is a huge responsibility and it is up to the pet owner to ensure that their animal is receiving quality medical care, food, [...]

    Looking Good Cruelty Free!
    2008-06-27 08:00:06
Everyone who reads my blog knows that I love my Foxy more than anything, and overall I am a true animal lover in general. While everyone else has been stressing the fact to go green, Foxy and I are here to remind you about the importance of not supporting animal testing. While I know sometimes we buy a product and do not have the time to do the research in advance, we can however educate ourselves by reading about the matter and learning more from the organizations that are in full support of animal rights.  You'll notice when visiting many sights, you may encounter two logos. Well just so you know, here is a brief description of the organizations that those logos stand for and what they mean:The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) consists of seven national animal protection groups banded together to help make shopping for animal-friendly products easier and more trustworthy. If a customer sees the internationally recognized "leaping bunny" logo on a

Animal Cruelty: The Key to Serial Minds
    2008-05-08 08:01:35
What makes a common person a Serial Killer? According to research, serial killers exhibit what is known as the 'Triad of Warning Signs in Childhood.'1Indicators include:* Firestarting, invariably just for the thrill of destroying things* Cruelty to Animals: Most children can be cruel to animals, such as pulling the legs off of spiders, but future serial killers often kill larger animals, like dogs and cats, and frequently for their solitary enjoyment rather than to impress peers.* Bedwetting beyond the age when children normally grow out of such behavior. One of society's more notorious serial killers, Jeffrey Dahmer explained that wanted to remove 'free will' from his victims so that they would stay with him. In his past, he suffered from abandonment and was afraid of loss and any social upheaval. Another one of his extremely displaced characteristics was that he suffered from low self-esteem. His parents divorced during his teens, and when he did go to college, he performed badly. Upo

Cattle and Cows Get the Worst Treatment in Slaughterhouse, Beef Recall Cruelty Video Internet, Cow Deserves Kindness Gives So Much
    2008-05-07 15:52:51
In the news this year about the beef recall. Along with that slaughterhouse cruelty video going around on the net. It is disturbing and sad on how cattle are slaughtered. I think out all the animals that go through the process of becoming our food supply cattle get the worst treatment. For the reason that some people dont get as upset about the slaughter treatment with cow as they do for a horse for example. Some think cows as dumb animals with no feelings so then they think have the right to tr

Animal cruelty: People are strange ...
    2008-04-01 01:53:50
The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to the other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creatures that cannot. ~Mark Twain, What Is Man, 1906This weekend started with wonderful weather. Even Friday was lovely, a bit windy, but didn't stop me from buzzing around the garden with my spade, and just enjoying that wonderful scent of early blooming apricot trees and other plants. Saturday gardening also contributed to my backache, especially cleaning the pond and preparing it for the new season.I was gonna write a post about it all today, but some bad news made me lose the will to do anything apart from stare into nowhere and wonder just how twisted and evil some people can be. I wasn't even gonna write about it but it has made me so sad and upset. I was reading the news and then spotted something that horrified me. Two dogs chained to the railroad tracks and beheaded by train. I couldn't believe my eyes. T

    Animal Cruelty on Lobster
    2008-02-29 01:46:46
We went to The Prime Cuts last night with another couple, and the restaurant specialties are steak and lobster. Nearby the maître d' stand there was a big tank parading huge, healthy lobsters (thank God they did not show live cows too). I asked one of the staffs when we were collecting our coats back, if the lobster are for a show or they actually use (cook) them. She said that they do use the lobster in the tank if someone orders it. But the patrons are not allowed to pick the lobster by themselves. Why?Because it's considered as an animal cruelty. So you can order the lobster, but you can't point one of the inhabitants in the tank and tell the chef that you specifically want that lobster on the left corner because it looks fresher and bigger than the others! This triggered my curiosity so I went for a research and found that scientific evidence showing lobsters feel extreme levels of pain when cooked to death, and there has been big debates about the most humane way to kill them. Kentucky Fried Cruelty - spread the word!
    2008-02-21 10:41:42
PETA in the States has launched an excellent, albeit disturbing awareness campaign that highlights how KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) continues to condone the horrific mistreatment of its chicken. The movies, which Fox banned from the Superbowl, are seeing the light of day thanks to the viral nature that happens when society and the Internet unite [...]

    KFC: Kentucky Fried Cruelty?
    2008-01-11 05:14:34
One day I thought The Vegan Prince was kind of illogical for abhorring the idea of eating meats (oh yeah, read and hear his rants about it) and that it came to me that he cannot have all the necessary vitamins and nutrients if he relies solely on vegies for food. But I guess I have changed my mind... I was doing my cousin's Friendster lay-out when on the lay-out source site there was this [[ This is a content summary only. Animal Cruelty as Art
    2007-10-22 20:34:14
From Internet Ronin "Costa Rican artist Guillermo Habacuc Vargas paid two children to find a dog in a barrio of Managua, Nicaragua for an exhibition he had scheduled there. In the name of art, Vargas then tied up the dog in a corner of the salon, denied it food and water, and waited for it to die.""Habacuc has been selected to represent his nation at the prestigious Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008."I used to own an art gallery in Atlanta and if someone had submitted crap like this to me I'd have pressed animal cruelty charges against them and gotten them blackballed from any reputable art venue. (After choking down the urge to force feed him his slides and physically eject him from the premises.)h/t to Sideways Mencken

Just so disgusting! I was surfing on the 248am forum when one guy suggests to see this video about animal cruelty in China. Fur trade in China has gone to such an extent that it's practised in almost every city of China. This video might be disturbing to some. Much at Stake in Stopping Animal Cruelty
    2007-07-31 14:00:00
By LAURA SCOTT lascott@kcstar.com.The grand jury indictment of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has focused attention on the grisly underground activity of dog-fighting.The federal charges are a reminder that animal abuse of a horrific nature, even if prohibited by law, goes on all too often. Some people even call it “sport.” It attracts money, drugs, and gambling, all bathed in the blood of animals who have been trained, tortured and abused to get them to go after other dogs until the death. The Vick charges represent the extreme of animal cruelty. That’s why the details make us squirm uncomfortably. If the charges are true, the ways losing dogs were dispensed with indicate terribly sick individuals, one of whom has been held up as an athletic role model.Other people copy celebrities. They think it is cool to have a dog that they train (or mistreat) so it will be vicious or frightening or tough. It is a status symbol. Such thinking can create dangerous owners who disregar

    A voice against Cruelty!!
    2007-05-25 07:02:00
When people think of cruelty, they often think of a person starving or beating an animal. In other words, they think of actions that are against the law. They may also think of things done by other nations, such as whale hunting, bear farming, bull fighting, or clubbing seal pups. But what do you think about the kind of cruelty that this video portrays. When will consciousness dawn upon us?So what is cruelty? In what ways do animals suffer?• Pain. All animals with backbones (vertebrates) feel pain like we do. Hooking fish, fire branding cattle, catching animals in steel-jaw traps, cutting tails off lambs and beaks off hens, all cause pain.• Stress and Fear. Vertebrate animals feel anxiety like we do. Transport is very stressful for animals, especially live export overseas. Being pulled out of the water and left to suffocate causes great stress to fish. Dairy calves taken from their mother after 1 day and trucked to slaughter at 1 week of age suffer greatly.• Frustration. Animals n

    Prevention Against Cruelty To Animals
    2007-04-17 09:27:00
This is a special and an earnest request to the mankind on the very special “International Guide Dog Day”, Wednesday April 18th.On this very special day let us all step forward to prevent the cruelty to the beautiful creations of the Lord. Cruelty to the animals means the treatments that many among us do intentionally or unintentionally to cause sufferings to the innocent animals.Just like us, the animals have their very own rights. Keeping this in the mind lets not treat the innocent creatures as commodities and use them against their own interest for our benefits. When again it comes to the animal welfare we should step forward to diminish their sufferings and pain, lest their sparkling eyes do not afloat with tears.I, personally, feel awfully bad about the idea of making the life of an innocent creature painful by making them pulling loaded carts against their own best will or making a dog work in the scorching sun.Let them live in peace and let them enjoy all the colors of this
