| Cultural Chaos In Colorado: Ritter Signs S.B. 200 | | 2008-05-30 10:20:00 | | I knew this was going to eventually happen. But no one believes an obviously "bigoted" Conservative. Nope. Can't believe him. But now it has happened. Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter has gone ahead and signed S.B. 200. And thanks to a little clause at the end, there's apparently no recourse. Some crap about being enacted in the cause of emergency.Right,.......But I'm betting that NAMBLA, GLAAD, GLESN, and all those other obscene organizations are about to enjoy a veritable feast of kiddie flesh, courtesy of the "bought and paid for" Colorado Legislation. I suppose millionaire gay activist Tim Gill and the rest of his radical friends are about to be bombarded with thank you cards from these groups. Why? Because it was their money (through mass campaign contributions) that bought this decision. And it's not likely that the Colorado Supreme Courts will do anything about it as they have a pretty "liberal" reputation as well. So, now, NO PUBLIC DOMAIN can refuse a male from using a females restroom. | | By: Hoopy Frood Dude | | |

They are the two dimensional art and the three dimensional. The two dimensional products of art include the weaving, painting on glass, ornaments, calligraphy and wooden craft. The three dimensional ones include architecture and statues. The raw material for weaving is rattan, bamboo and purun (stalks of certain grass). Weaving has prospered well in this area. Rattan weaving has become rattan craft and its products are: all kinds of rattan bags for various purposes, various kinds of hats, etc. Handbags for women are made with special designs that are very beautiful; the ornaments are also artistic. There are two types of ornaments; the traditional and the modern.Weaving craftsThe products of bamboo craft are in the form of woven bamboo baskets (bakul). The ornaments are traditional, which are inherited from their ancestors. The motifs of the ornaments are usually spiral like, geometric, “tumpal”, e | | By: Indonesia Cultural and Art

The Dayak statues, for example, which are erected outside their villages, have a magical function to guard their villages against bad spirits.Air GuciThe “dinding air guci” (the painted screen) is made of a piece of white cloth embroidered with “air guci” or rembuci motif. The embroidery has become a standard for this kind of screen and other embroideries function only as ornaments. This standard embroideries symbolizes happiness and fertility. It is in the form of big water-jug with thick foliage and roots that come out from the mouth of the jug. This motif symbolizes magical meaning that expresses vitality that can make a man happy and that can silent the other people that live in the long house outside the screen. The use of “air guci” screen is to provide a separate room for a newly married couple. The Dayaks, Malays, Javanese, Buginese and some others have also contribution in the forming of South Kalimantan art and culture. The Banjars are actually the mixture of the Maayan, Lawangan, Bukit and Ngaju tribes who are influenced by the Malayan and Javanese culture. It is said that the Malays had migrated to this area before the 6th century. Later, together with the Dayak, they formed a new tribe which was first known as the Banjar tribe. The migration of the Javanese happened in the 13th century. They were mostly from East Java. The migration was probably caused by the political chaos in Java. The settlers, who were the Malays or the Javanese, had to use rivers like the Barito, the Negara, the Martapura, the Tabalong, etc., for the means of transportation.Floating Market in South Kalimantan. The early political history of the district is interlinked with that of the Cheras of the Sangam age, who ruled over vast portions of Kerala with their capital at Vanchi. The whole of the present Thrissur district was included in the early Chera Empire. The district can claim to have played a significant part in fostering the trade relations between Kerala and the outside world in the ancient and medieval period. It can also claim to have played an important part in fostering cultural relations and in laying the foundation of a cosmopolitan and composite culture in this part of the country. | | Cultural Jihad Update: Also Known As LEGAL Jihad | | 2008-01-11 11:46:00 | | Just an update to my previous posting on the new islamofascist movement known as the Cultural Jihad. Another term being used is LEGAL Jihad, as referred to on the ACTforAmerica site.Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, the author under attack in this new craze, is getting some support finally."A bi-partisan effort is now under way in New York to pass legislation designed to protect journalists, authors and publishers from lawsuits filed outside the U.S. by foreign nationals seeking to muzzle the First Amendment rights of American citizens, particularly those reporting on terrorism and its financiers," as reported in today's ACTforAmerica e-letter."This Sunday, January 13th, at 10:30 a.m., on the steps of the New York Public Library, 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue, a bi-partisan news conference will be held by New York State Senate Deputy Majority Leader Dean Skelos and Assemblyman Rory I. Lancman, where they will announce the introduction of such legislation. The two lawmakers, Ehrenfeld, and members of the bar, will warn that without this legislation, not only are authors and journalists threatened, the contents of the New York Public Library could be subject to assault by foreign nationals seeking to silence public debate in America. They are to be applauded and supported for this effort."This is fantastic news, just as the John Doe legislation assists in protecting well meaning American citizens from being prosecuted for reporting suspicious activities. Now journalists, authors and publishers will be able to, (at least when the situation suits them,) report on radical islam without the intimidation factor that they all now face. At least, as long as the bill passes.Article info provided by ACTforAmerica and Michelle Malkin's Blog. | | By: Hoopy Frood Dude
| | "Cultural Jihad" Continues Building Momentum: Coughlin Was A Casualty | | 2008-01-09 19:31:00 | | As it looks, Stephen Coughlin was merely one casualty in what is self describing itself as a new war by islamofascists. Cultural Jihad. Subversion from within. Just as described in documents revealed in the Holyland Foundation trials in Dallas. And it seems to be building some momentum. I'll give just a few highlights, and let you have at it.We'll start off back in December, on the 14th WorldNetDaily carried an article of a Wahhabi-trained Muslim chaplain being promoted in a ceremony NOT performed in the usual manner as in military honors style, but by Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England himself. Yeah, you can see where I'm going with this already can't you. Navy chaplain Abuhena Mohammed Saifulislam was promoted from lieutenant to lieutenant commander. The same guy that also fought to have the first mosque in Marine Corps history built. This guy also did a stint in Gitmo, getting a lot of plush treatment lined up for the detainees. I recommend reading the WND article for the full details of how good those guys really have it.Curious how three weeks after this guy gets a nod, Coughlin gets the boot. Which leads me to the next little highlight, Diana West, editor and columnist for the Washington Post had some words to say a few days ago. In which she describes us living in an "era which, barring reversal, will probably be remembered as the era of the Islamization of the Western world." West, speaking about columnist Bill Gertz' recent articles about Coughlin, had this to say; "I hope to discover more about the internal machinations that led to his dismissal; so far, according to Gertz, we know that Stephen Coughlin had run afoul of the agenda of Hesham Islam, a key advisor to Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England, who clearly sanctions multiculti policy delusions over rational assessments of the threat posed by expansionist Islam." Well said, good form I say.Jump forward to today, and we see yet another loss of our free speech rights here in America. The | | By: Hoopy Frood Dude | | |

The Malasian side had promised that when such cases happened it would take the necessary steps to settle them."I think we can trust Malaysia to keep its promise so that the many kinds of trouble such cases will oherwise give rise to can be avoided," he said.About the recent case in which Malaysia presented a Reog Ponorogo show as being a Malaysian cultural product, Kristiarto said the Art Directorate of the Culture and Tourism Ministry was currently investigating it."Certainly the investigation is not only made in Indonesia, but it is also aimed at making an assurance regarding the culture or the art which is also performed in Malaysia who later claimed it as part of its cultural legacy," he said.In the near future, it was expected the results of the research could be disseminated to the public.Early this week, there was a rumour in the internet that the Malaysian Cultural Art and Legacy Ministry had claimed Barongan which was like Ponorogo to be part of Malaysia.Source: The Official Website of Ministry of Culture & Tourism

But now there's a way to get a pretty authentic taste of life during the Cultural Revolution: eat in a Commune Mess Hall restaurant. These restaurants are apparently appearing throughout China, and the Guangzhou branch in the south of the country is getting some press attention. The restaurant staff dress in Red Guard uniforms, revolutionary songs form the musical soundtrack to your dining experience and propaganda posters adorn the walls. | | Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at Columbia University: Where Liberal Cultural Relativism Meets Objective Intolerance | | 2007-09-25 04:33:27 | | While liberals pride themselves for being the champions of tolerance, how do they respond when other cultures denigrate women and homosexuals? It is wonderful to watch this cognitive dissonance unfold. At what point do liberals start making objective determinations of right and wrong? At what point do liberals say that burying a 16-year-old girl to her neck in dirt, and subsequently stoning her to death is not an acceptable form of cultural expression?Ironically, liberals consider conservatives evil because many conservatives support the military’s don’t ask, don’t tell policy. Yet, it is amazing that these same liberals are apathetic when Iran hangs, stones, and beheads homosexuals. Moreover, Iran is one of the few Countries in the World that executes children. When confronted with this clear hypocrisy, liberals simply resort to bashing President Bush. The production of history is now clearly recognized as a cultural practice, an invention in the present, as much as a representation and interpretation of the past. Both theoretical and practical in its approach, this book explores the development of cultural history, and its impact on current teaching. Part 1 examines the ways in which conceptions of historical meaning have been challenged, via developments in a range of disciplines (including literary and linguistic theory, history, sociology, anthropology, media and cultural studies). | | Focus on cultural celebration | | 2007-07-19 14:59:16 | | The past years’ Kadayawan sa Dabaw celebrations, it’s been thought, have veered away from the authentic spirit of this most important of Davao’s festivals. People have started talking about how ‘commercialized’ the Kadayawan has become over the years. And this probably explains the knee-jerk reaction by this year’s organizers — their unexpected move to change the festival’s schedule.
The city officials responsible for Kadayawan 2007 have reasoned that, since this festival is all about the harvest season, then it should be celebrated during the actual time of harvest, which is early August. This was monumentally unwise. But it’s a good thing that the festival highlights (the Indak-Indak and the floral float parade) were kept on the same period as usual (middle of August). (more…)

| | Cultural learning of Bali | | 2007-07-19 00:55:57 | | Some of you may know that recently I've made a trip to Bali. Its for the 'Cultural learning of Bali for make benefit the glorious nation of Malaysia'. Yeah Borat inspired. So lemme share some goodie good culture with you. Todays lesson would be on cultural learning la of course, you can't read the title? Okay, there was one fine afternoon where our taxi driver 'Wayan' brought us to the Bali Museum in Denpasar. Well, its a museum la. What do you expect from a museum right? They have artifacts, painting... ZzzBut I did not forget the purpose of my trip, which is a cultural learning trip. Just some quick and strange facts. Babies in Bali would not touch the ground before they are 3 months old. They believe that the evil spirit would reach to the babies, as evil spirit cannot jump, they only crawl. After that they have to live in a sangkar (cage) for some time before they can officially crawl around. So how? Malaysian babies not bad la huh. At least you got the freedom to crawl around and pee at your favourite spot. After walk walking for a while, who also will become hungry la. So my handsome taxi mate says 'Jom, saya bawak you pergi makan'. All exicited, hoping into the taxi, he drove for about 15 seconds and we reach our destination. What? No, it wasn't a typo. It was a 15 seconds drive. The makan place is right beside the museum. I'm wondering why he drove at the first place, but nevermind. At first my sight is blinded by aromatic smoke. Then the smoke start to give way, thinking that it might be a paradise or a genie behind the smoke but I was wrong. It was an auntie! An auntie squatting down roasting what seemed familiar to me, satay. Wahaha. Satay in Indon. Should be not bad. But then my taxi man say its not like any other satay. Its sate penyu (turtle satay). So it makes me wonder. Turtle is endangered in Malaysia right? But then, this is Indonesia. Who cares right? I'm not an environmentalist also. Haha. It is super duper ultra sedap. Saw that darker pie | | By: Engrish 101 | | |
