I've been quite sick and didn't make the return call yet. Well, just a few minutes ago he followed up and reached me. That is really above and beyond the call, to me.
Ordered replacement blades... be here in a week or two. All talking to a very polite gentleman from Australia. I'll let you know if the right thing gets here, but so far, they have been exceptional. And all on toll-free US numbers.
Apparently a couple of different brand names are manufactured by this company behind the scenes, so do a bit of research, or you can probably buy direct if you like.

Anyway they got right back to me within a day with some things to try. (Which I already had). Anyhow, props to their customer service dept for the quick reply. Now the problem: There was a channel in the case designed to hold the 3 wires coming from the external XLR jack. These wires passed through the channel past the circuit board. Anyway they had slipped out of the channel and were pinched between the circuit board and the case, enough to split the insulation on the wires. This caused them to short agains the case. I slipped the offending wire back in place and all was well. I may go back and put some tape over the split, but I’ll probably leave well enough alone.

At a recent stay at a MainStay Suites hotel in upstate South Carolina, I was reminded of what customer service is all about. This is an award-winning hotel, one of the top locations in their chain. This particluar hotel is operated by Angie Palomino, a local entreprenaur. Regardless, Choice Hotels does drive policy and procedure standards for all of their operations, but Angie does far more than simply adhere to minimum standards. She views customer service as her sole product.

reaction? Blame it on others. This blaming game is played even
at the highest levels in the corporate offices and in our
government. When complaints arise and it is obvious that the
fault lies in a certain person, he gets the whole troop of officers
in the department to share the blame. It sounds unfair, but it is
