Dean Cain Talks About His Appearance as Dr. Curtis Knox on Smallville (spoiler warning)
    2007-10-12 12:05:02
Dean Cain spoke about his character, Dr. Curtis Knox, and his upcoming and much anticipated role in the Smallville episode, "Cure," airing Oct. 18 on the CW.In an interview for Los Angeles' KTLA TV Morning Show, Dean revealed that Dr. Knox is indeed "an immortal, so it's hard to get rid of him." When asked if he might return to the series, he was playfully evasive. There are rumors floating around that he may return, but I guess time will tell. The video interview also showed a fun clip from "Cure" where Knox and Lex Luthor are setting some power boundaries. An example of the exchange: Knox to Luthor, "I sever the cerebral wiring of the freaks in your gallery and you pay me my fee. End of story." Delightfully menacing.Following the clip, Dean was asked if Knox is more evil than Lex, as he does appear to be a worthy adversary and rather chilling. Dean's reply was, "Well, let's put it this way, Clark Kent has to save him [Lex] or he would have been no more 'cuz he crossed [Knox] and that's not a good thing."To see the full interview, visit KTLA's site and select the Dean Cain interview.

On an interview with KTLA Morning Show in Los Angeles, Dean Cain revealed some upcoming appearances that will make his fans stand up and cheer!According to Dean, he will be appearing in an upcoming episode of CSI: Miami. But what many of his fans are waiting to hear is the confirmation of a rumor running around the Net...Dean said he is "going back [to] do a couple episodes of LAS VEGAS." [Spoiler alert!] Yep, Casey Manning will be visiting the Montecito again. Question is, under what circumstances? Will it be a haunting appearance, or will sparks again fly between Casey and Sam. Dean didn't give any details, but he did say, "That is a very fun show."Asked about any possibility that he might dance with the stars, his humorous, and fairly adamant reply was simply, "Honest truth, that's never gonna happen." His reason is, "it's not my cup of tea." The 'Net is buzzing, thanks to an announcement at Comic-Con that Dean Cain will be appearing this season in Smallville...as a possible "baddie," according to TV Squad. And according to HouseOfElPodcast.com, Mr. Cain will be playing a doctor that may be able to cure meteor freaks. Hmmm, sounding pretty interesting, and like a lot of fun!One of my favorite TV info sites, SpoilerFix.com, offers even more details, such as the character's name (Dr. Curtis Knox), and some question as to whether Dr. Knox is good or bad.And for you Superman fans, KRYPTONSITE.COM's headline reads, "Dean Cain On Smallville... Dean Cain to play Father Jude Best in upcoming film, The Best Years
    2007-08-31 21:09:59
Filming around County Derry, Northern Ireland, the film, The Best Years, was written and will be directed by Danny Patrick (Malicious Intent, Hey Mr. DJ).The story, according to Mr. Patrick, will be akin to films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Ocean's 11. Apparently he had intended to write a "very gritty, urban, realistic drama" about the city of Derry, but what he "actually ended up with was actors telling me that when they read the script they just couldn't put it down for laughing.... I think that is mostly because of the characters."The Best Years stars Dean Cain (as Father Jude Best), Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings fame; as Emmett), Joss Ackland (as Reverend McFadden) and Vinnie Jones.Story synopsis from an article in the BBC News:The story depicts criminal empires that have existed during the NI Troubles that are no longer able to operate during peace.Three nationalist petty criminals overhear an English gang plotting to rob a money laundry owned by a resident crime

"What Are They Up To? Las Vegas' Dean Cain"
    2007-06-21 00:24:11
This is from an article on BuddyTV.com, by Kris De Leon, BuddyTV Staff Columnist - about Dean Cain's character, Casey Manning, on the TV series, Las Vegas, and his current TV projects. (Screen capture by DeanCainCentral.com)June 16, 2007Aside from his heroic role on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Dean Cain also gained fame for his role on Las Vegas as Casey Manning. He depicted a shrewd and cunning businessman and was the former owner of the Montecito Hotel and Casino, as well as Sam’s ex-husband. In the episode entitled “Bare Chested in the Park,” his character was killed off in a fishing accident when a giant squid engulfed him off the coast of New Zealand. However, the autopsy revealed that his blood had traces of botulinum toxin, which hinted that he was poisoned before the accident happened. After his departure on Las Vegas, Cain landed roles on TV movies and films like A Christmas Wedding, Dead & Deader, Crossroads: A Story of Forgiveness and Max Havoc: Ring

Movie Review - Dean Cain Proves He Doesn't Need a Cape to Fly as an Actor
    2007-06-13 07:12:57
My personal movie tastes are varied, and my satisfaction is not necessarily dependent on typical "good movie" standards. I'm forgiving of what some may call flaws, errors, substandards, story holes, weak plots, campy acting or predictability. My main criteria is basic: does the movie engross me, hold my attention, stay with me and most importantly, entertain me? If I answer yes, then it's a good movie. It's simple. Now to my main point. Dean Cain's performance in the recent Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, Crossroads: A Story of Forgiveness, engrossed me. I was absorbed. There is something about the sadness he so richly portrayed that is staying with me. I didn't want to take my eyes off of the scenes that he appeared in. For two hours, I sat entertained. I think Mr. Cain was terrific, and a great fit for this role. I can't imagine anyone else playing the part. Was the movie itself good? I enjoyed it. Was it well directed? I stayed involved and forgot I was watching TV for a couple hours.

Very Funny Movie Review of Dean Cain's Creature Feature, Boa aka New Alcatraz
    2007-04-20 04:18:30
I just read a review that made me laugh all the way through it. It was an entertaining and fun read, especially since I could relate to the sentiment of loving the "creature feature" genre, the gas station video rentals...and thinking Dean Cain is under-rated as an actor. The review, written by Zach Whalen, can be found at MaximumAwesome.com - Greatest Killer Animal Movies: Boa. It is punctuated with some funny captions on photos of Dean Cain, the "Underdog action hero--no, action LEGEND!" (Yep, I agree with that, too.)By the way, did you know that Dean Cain is Bulgarian for "smoldering intensity"? Yep, sure is! At least, according to Zach Whalen it is.

    2007-04-09 19:11:34
Filmed last year, this big screen action epic film by acclaimed producer, director and screenwriter Christopher Cain (YOUNG GUNS, THE PRINCIPAL) is coming to theaters May 4, 2007. September Dawn boasts impressive talent in the form of actors Terence Stamp, Jon Voight and Dean Cain, co-starring Lolita Davidovich and Jon Gries.September Dawn is a fictional love story set against the backdrop of the somewhat controversial Mountain Meadows Massacre that occured September 7-11, 1857. "The film brings up some very significant questions," said Dean Cain.Though the film's story is fiction, the historic story behind it is based on fact. "I was a history major in college and I read a lot about it," said Dean. "I do know that everything said by Brigham Young in the film is taken from historical records."PLOT DESCRIPTION: Director Christopher Cain takes an up-close look at the devastation wrought by religious fanaticism with this romantic drama set against the backdrop of the 1857 Mountain Meadows
