| | One dictator stands down , one holds strong in defiance | | 2008-02-19 08:45:03 | | An ailing man, whom struck fear into the hearts of many for years with an iron fist steped down today. Despite his holding on way past his prime; he cited health as his number one reason for stepping down. He spoke with strong words saying , "it would be a betrayal to my conscience to accept a responsibility requiring more mobility and dedication than I am physically able to offer."
Was it Joe Paterno? No! It was Fidel Castro. You see, even a communist dictator knew when it was time to step down. You see even Castro had no problems letting go; in July 2006 when he was ill he ceded his powers to his #1 in command. Yet, Penn State doesn't even have that. Just a guy that calls the defense...and of course Joe would never relinquish power to anyone come hell or high water. Broken leg or not.
So now let me ask you this:: If a communist dictator knows when to hang it up; why doesn't Joe?

| | Charlie Chaplin Speaks in The Great Dictator | | 2008-02-08 12:37:57 | | Charlie Chaplin was a true master of the silent film era. Though he did not have the advantages of modern technology, he was one of the most influential personalities to ever make films. Hailed as one of the finest performers to grace the silver screen, Chaplin’s expressive face and pantomime act helped him to express emotions beautifully.
Though he avoided making a talkie for a very long time, he finally relented and acted in a few of them. As a lot of people don’t remember seeing him in a talkie, I bring to you a superb clip from his very first dialogue film - The Great Dictator (1940). These lines came straight from his heart, and are as relevant today as they were then, coming in during a time when Nazism and Fascism were rearing their ugly heads. You show them, Charlie !

| | | Bush Gets New Dictator Powers | | 2007-05-23 18:31:00 | | The National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive , signed on May 9, 2007 declares that in the event of a "catastrophic event", George W. Bush can become what is best described as "a dictator": "The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government." This directive, completely unnoticed by the media, and given no scrutiny by Congress, literally gives the White House unprecedented dictatorial power over the government and the country, bypassing the US Congress and obliterating the separation of powers. The directive also placed the Secretary of Homeland Security in charge of domestic "security".A critical analysis on the directive can be found here. | | By: Full Time Income From Home | | |
