| iRobot Roomba 4210 Discovery Vacuum Robot | | 2007-12-06 06:17:53 | | Love my Roomba!The path is random, so it's not perfect but i tell you on hardwood and tile floors this robot is the bomb-diggity. It cleans under the bed, under the couch and gets most places that are a real pain for me to get. If you run it daily you have to sweep much less often. I used to have to sweep every other day the entire house before i got the Roomba. I have this older model, and it does get stuck on socks, cat toys, and bathmats etc (the new models are supposed to be better about that), but he(Roomba we call him sparky) makes an alarm noise like 'uh oh' so you know to free him if you're home. My battery died after only a couple of years, and i have yet to procure a replacement but since it stopped being used Dust Buffalos (bigger than bunnies) have taken over my household, building up under couches and beds. This is better as a cleaning 'aid' than as a complete replacement for sweeping and vacuming. But any help is good help! iRobot Roomba 4210 Enjoy effortlessly clean floors with this vacuuming robot. We took the kids today and they loved it. The exhibit is very hands on and features everything from cookie decorating stations , gingerbread house designs, "A Matter of Taste" weekend stage show which explores the bitter, sour, salty and sweet sides of flavor and a good old fashioned arts and crafts station that of course is gingerbread themed. Once you get past the initial taco bell smell you will be delighted by the fragrant aroma of fresh baked gingerbread.Here is the science center's favorite recipe: Ingredients:3 Cups All Purpose Flour 1/4 Teaspoon Salt 3/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda 2/3 Cup Molasses 2 Teaspoons Ground Ginger 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg 1/2 Cup Granulated White Sugar 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature) 1 Large Egg 1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon 1/4 Teaspoon Ground ClovesDirections:In a large bowl, sift or whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, and spices. Set aside. In the bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (an electric mixer works best). Add the egg and molasses and beat until well combined. Gradually add the flour mixture beating until incorporated.Divide the dough in half, and wrap each half in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours or overnight.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and place rack in center of oven. The cultures Europe of and the Americas could have merged and the beauty of both races could have flourished. Unfortunately, what occurred was neither beautiful nor heroic. Just as Columbus could not, and did not, "discover" a hemisphere that was already inhabited by nearly 100 million people, his arrival cannot, and will not, be recognized as a heroic and celebratory event by indigenous peoples. Unlike the Western tradition, which presumes some absolute concept of objective truth, and consequently, one "factual" depiction of history, the indigenous view recognizes that there exist many truths in the world and many legitimate recollections of any given historical event, depending on one's perspective and experiences. From an indigenous vantage point, Columbus' arrival was a disaster from the beginning. Although his own diaries indicated that he was greeted by the Taino Indians with the most generous hospitality he had ever known, he immediately began the enslavement and slaughter of the Indian peoples of the Caribbean islands. As the eminent Columbus biographer Samuel Eliot Morison admits in his book, Admiral of the Ocean Sea, Columbus was personally responsible for enslavement and murder of indigenous peoples.
