| Dog Fighting | | 2007-08-29 06:47:16 | | First of all, I believe that Vick's speech was a bunch of bull. Vick was coached very well on what to say and how to say it. I didn't believe one word he said and throwing in the "found God" phrase is getting a bit much especially after Paris used it. All of a sudden everyone who gets into trouble finds God, how convenient. While I was watching the Fox News Channel people are already throwing in the race card about the whole dog fighting subject. Give me a break people! It has nothing to do with race it has to do with abusing dogs. What is wrong with you people? Do you believe that if a white person did what Vick did the outcome would be different? No way!I did some researching and found that dog fighting originated in Great Britain. Dog fights were common with the scumbags and lowlifes. After running its course in Britain, dog fighting made its way to America specifically the south. Lowlifes, gangstas, the new ghetto generation or whatever you want to call them have spread into the | | By: Unrestricted: My NASCAR Rants & Raves | | |
| | Michael Vick Indicted on Dog Fighting Conspiracy Charges | | 2007-07-20 17:17:06 | | Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick (aka “Ookie” according to the indictment), at one point the cover boy of EA Sports’ Madden Football and one of the most popular and unbelievably athletic players in the NFL, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to running a dog fighting ring in multiple states. Property owned by Vick purportedly housed hundreds of pit bulls, had more animals buried throughout the premises, and had animal killing and mating equipment.
Very ugly stuff.
At one point I was a big fan of Mike Vick’s. Recently, however, he seems to have let his stardom give him an “above-the-law” attitude. Big mistake. If these charges hold up, Vick could be out of job and even without being convicted he faces a huge PR nightmare as there were obviously shenanigans going on at the property he owned.
Basically, it’s just a terribly sad situation. These poor animals deserve much better than to be fought and slaughte | | By: Ponder This
| | Vick’s Dog Fighting Home Recently Broken Into | | 2007-06-05 04:17:10 | |
More bad news for Michael Vick, as the home that has been the recent subject of a dogfighting investigation was broken into sometime in May. The Atlanta-Journal Constitution stated on Monday that Vick’s home was broken into sometime between the dates of May 7th and 18th. “I don’t think it had anything to do with possible evidence,” in the dogfighting investigation, Commonwealth attorney Gerald Poindexter said to the paper. “I think it was some feuding over the spoils. Some people believe that in getting ready to sell the house, Vick had promised stuff to some family members and other people felt they deserved things.”
Taken from the home were three plasma televisions, sizes 62″, 42″ and 32″, two floor buffers, a wet/dry vacuum, an upright washer and dryer and a leather sofa. The vaule of what was stolen was set at $17,550. The police report said that those that broke in came in through a back, side window and that an “alarm | | By: NFL GridIron Gab

| Report Says Vick Heavy Into Betting on Dog Fighting | | 2007-05-28 04:15:33 | | The reports, and none good, just keep hitting for Falcons QB Michael Vick and his alleged involvement with dog fighting. The latest comes from ESPN, which had a report Sunday that said that Vick is not only big on the sport, he is ‘’one of the heavyweights'’ in the sport.
ESPN used info from a police informant, who is reportedly reliable and stated on “Outside the Lines” that Vick was big-time involved with the sport. “That’s who bets a large dollar,'’ the informant said.'’ ‘’And they have the money to bet large money. As I’m talking about large money, 30 to 40 thousand, even higher. He’s one of the heavyweights.'’
Investigator David Hunt said information from the informant has ‘’resulted in the arrest of several individuals over the past few years, numerous search warrants, as well as convictions.'’ This cannot be good news for Vick, who has been in the media, and for all the wro | | By: NFL GridIron Gab
| | Portis, Samuels Brush off Vick’s Dog Fighting Issues | | 2007-05-22 13:50:24 | | Speaking without thinking. It’s a common happening in sports, as over the years I have heard plenty of players, coaches, and even owners say things that come back to bite them. In this case, a pair of Washington Redskin players were speaking about biting, and their comments should show you just where the mindset of today’s players are today.
The two players are running back Clinton Portis and offensive linemen Chris Samuels, who both on Monday decided to speak out about the ongoing saga of Falcons QB Michael Vick and his latest snafu - a dog fighting ring that it appears he was somehow involved in. The ring was discovered by agents when they stormed a home that Vick owns in a raid, but Vick claims he does not live in the home, that his cousin does.
In recent weeks though, more than one source claims that Vick was not only well aware of the activities at his home, but also enjoyed taking part in them. Far be it from me to pass judgement on if dog fighting is a crime, but it | | By: NFL GridIron Gab
