Oklahoma Adopts Income Tax Deduction for Organ Donation
    2008-04-15 23:00:00
Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry has signed into law a 130-page omnibus bill that, among many other things, creates a $10,000 one-time income tax deduction for unreimbursed costs associated with donating all or part of a liver, pancreas, kidney, intestine, lung, or bone marrow (Section 37, pages 89-90). The bill directs the Oklahoma Tax Commission to write rules outlining what would be a deductible cost.Currently federal law prohibits paying people for donating organs, and some have proposed changing this system as the number of people on organ waitlists grow each year. Whatever the merits of those proposals or what Oklahoma has done, it may be a trend: this website indicates that Oklahoma is the 13th state to adopt some form of tax deduction for costs associated with an individual donating an organ. (The others are Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Utah, and Wisconsin.)

The Site is a free resource. There are adverts and links to products which ma be of interest to you, but you will not find any 'get rich quick' ideas on the Site.I am trying to spread the message about effortless abundance and prosperity as widely as possible. The articles and other content on the Site take time and effort to put together - many, many hours of research, writing and editing have gone into the content, and time and money has been spent on maintaining the Site itself, which is all my own work.I believe that this resource delivers value to my readers and that it is appropriate that this value be recognized if readers feel able to do so.If you would like to donate to the upkeep of the Site and the continuation of this work, please click the link below. professional service provider (as yet)? And case study of http://flickrleech.net re donations.During your web surfing, you might have come across messages,"Support me","If you like this site","Tip jar"etc with a small button to donate via PayPal.Also, payment for services is also common (credit-cards etc). Request for online payment via credit-cards is something that we bump into every now and then. It helps if you are a professional service provider, and say your services are in demand. But what when a programmer who, maybe initially for his personal purposes twisted around the Application Programming Interface (API) (an API gives access to the building blocks of the service as well as the public data, which a creative programmer can put to any use) to develop a wonderful application? There may be a wide potential audience, but hey, you may not have infrastructure to nurture an idea which may or may not become a popular application. Also, earning money doesn't hurt, does it :)?Here enter

Another Donation Trip to the Salvation Army
    2007-05-13 07:00:24
I made yet another trip to the Salvation Army yesterday to donate more unused clothes, books, and my 12-year old 35mm camera. My office has a lounge with a bookcase, so I’ve been dropping off my more subversive fiction (Post Office, The Catcher in the Rye) and non-fiction books (Culture Jam, Commodify Your Dissent) for coworkers’ benefit in the hopes of sharing some of my views on consumerism and life with them. I figured books on cocktails, mystical Persian poetry, and string theory might be better suited for the Salvation Army crowd. My 35mm Minolta camera, which has worked wonderfully since the mid-90’s, is far past it’s prime from a cultural, financial, and convenience perspective. In Belize last year, a person who took my picture gave me a look when he held it as though I’d been living under a rock for not going digital by the year 2006. Before heading to the Salvation Army, I dropped by a pawn shop to see if I could hawk it after I saw no interes

    Donation Contest Winner
    2007-04-21 03:13:26
Last month on March 15th, I decided to celebrate the 3 month anniversary of this site by hosting a donation contest. I was really in the giving spirit when I offered up to $500 to charity. I even said that I would let YOU decide which charity that money was going to go to. In order to participate you had to have a website, and had to have linked over to the contest page to participate. For each participant I added $1 into the donation pool, until I reached the current total. I wrote down all of the names of the participants and numbered them. I then used the random number generator to pick the lucky winner. The lucky winners are our neighborhood relationship experts Dan and Jennifer. The donation that they have selected is Operation Kindness, which is a no-kill animal shelter in North Texas. This charity is legit, and its such a great cause. If you look at their front page you’ll fall in love with some of these animals as well. While the amount of participants in the contest gene
