It doesn’t feel like you’re slow-thumbing a djembe like your dad; rather, it’s more akin to the rap-tap-tap on a snare drum. Are you going to play in the marching band? Your dad did when he was in high school, as did his dad.
But I’m rhythmically challenged, preferring to sing over drumming. This’s obviously a skill you’ve acquired from that side of the family. At first, the sensations are a bit unnerving, but I’m moving-n-grooving to them now.
