| | How To Increase Your EBay Auction Traffic For Free | | 2008-05-19 06:31:39 | | Way back in 2005 eBay launched a new feature to their site known as Guides and Reviews. This section of eBay is growing all the time as it becomes more popular, however it seems that 99% of sellers still aren't taking full advantage of it's full capabilities and do not understand how you can integrate it with your own business to boost sales.eBays Guides and Reviews section allows users to share their opinions or expertise on any topic or category they wish. It is a part of eBay that is made by the users, for the uses, and where anyone can contribute. No matter what your interests or expertise, you can write a guide or review on it. Whether it be a guide on "Creating A Pod Cast" or a review of a recent CD or DVD, another user will want to read it.As a seller, writing guides will not only show you have great understanding of that product, and show you to be an expert, but they can also generate a huge amount of additional traffic towards your store. How is this possible? | eBay Auction Software | | 2008-05-09 06:51:08 | | There are several kinds of auction software out there, most related to automatic bidding. This kind of software goes against eBay's Terms of Use and can possibly land users with suspended or terminated accounts. There is one type of eBay auction software, however, that can put an eBay user at an unfair advantage without being against eBay's rules. This is due to one prevailing element - the human factor.People inevitably make mistakes from time to time and unfortunately for some eBay sellers these mistakes are in their eBay listings. Many eBay listings are posted every day with typos in the title of the listing. Since important words in the title are misspelled, very few users find the listing through eBay's search tool. There are free tools that take a word that the user enters and search for all possible misspellings of the word on eBay. This uncovers big lists of items that would otherwise have little or no exposure on eBay and therefore have very few bids if any at all.The really unf | | By: eBay Business - Information on eBay, eBay Auctions | | |
| | Stay Away From These eBay Auction Scams! | | 2008-05-01 08:43:53 | | Even though eBay is a pretty great place for buyers and sellers, there are the bad apples that tend to ruin it for the whole bunch. These scammers make me mad too much, and here are some techniques that many of them use a lot to trick unsuspecting people. You might be familiar with some of these if you've ebayed long enough, but for those who aren't, here we go:Bid ShieldingThis is a common scam and something you need to watch out for if your going to sell on eBay. The scammers use two accounts to accomplish this method of eBay scamming. It works like this. Let's say you put your item up for auction and let's say your item is worth $50. The first scammer comes along and bids say $20 on your item. Of course, if everyone knows the value of your item, the first scammer isn't going to get it for $20, this is where bid shielding comes in, the scammer then uses his second account to bid a ridiculous amount, say $150. Since your item is only worth $50, you receive no more offers or bids becau | | By: eBay Business - Information on eBay, eBay Auctions | | |

| | eBay Auction Home Business Tutorial: Start Low To Sell High! | | 2007-12-10 22:26:00 | | I sell items on eBay and enjoy teaching others how to make money with eBay auctions, but I admit to doing my fair share of buying, too. Recently I found a few items I wanted to add to my collection, and even though I knew the items would go for several hundred dollars, I noticed the seller began the auction price at 99 cents. Is this a good idea? Turns out that it's an excellent idea. A recent study performed by the London Business School and two professors from Northwestern University proved that items that were posted with an opening price of one penny actually ended up selling at "significantly higher" prices than auctions for the same item that began at higher prices. Why does this work so well? The biggest reason is the psychological impact on buyers. Everyone loves a bargain, and a price of one cent is going to get everyone's attention. Obviously the item won't end up selling for that price, but it does tend to get more attention. Let's say you do a search on Nikon cameras (one of the items included in the study). You see 20 of them, and one of them has a price of 99 cents. Even though you know you're not going to win the auction with that bid, you're very likely to click on the listing. And as an eBay seller, we know that the first battle is to get potential buyers to look at your listing! There's always an exception to the rule, and according to the study, if you're selling a "niche item" - an item that is intended for a specialized audience that you're not expecting a great deal of bidding on - then you should start with a price closer to what you actually expect to get.Even if you're concerned about getting less than you hoped for, don't try to lower the price on the item by making it up with shipping overcharges. I've seen sellers put a "Buy It Now" item up for a couple of dollars less than other sellers, but they were charging $7 to ship something that should have cost no more than $2. eBay is also starting to crack down on shippi | | By: Auction For Fortune | | |
