The Zerofootprint tool lets users chart their environmental impact through activities like transportation, their eating habits, their recreational and work activities and habits and their waste habits. The tool lets you compare your scores to your friends and neighbors to see how you measure up.
“Climate change is the issue of our time and it’s up to all of us to do our part to minimize the impact of day-to-day activities,” Toronto Mayor David Miller explained at the conference. “Zerofootprint Toronto is going to help make my city not only one of the greenest on the planet, but one of the most innovative, as well.”
All Torontoians will be encouraged to set up an online profile and the information collected will be used to help Toronto and other cities develop and modify environmental plans, programs and policies.
