Long answer: Yes'm! There are heaps! Yet - I haven't actually found most of them. I can tell you what I already sort of said in the Prancing Around The City post - that is, there are heaps on Smith St in Collingwood - HEAPS, I tell you - there's about three op shops (opportunity shops, they're probably exactly the same as thrift or charity shops) and a couple of vintage stores, I think. Then there's a couple of vintage stores on Brunswick St, but I find they're a bit more expensive. Or, try Cardigan Place, Albert Park - there's at least one there, but I can't personally recommend anything, as I'm yet to visit. It's on my to-do list. As for other places... Well, there are op shops in virtually every suburb - there's a huge Savers in Greesborough, for instance, and small op shops on Murray Rd in Preston, St Hellier St in Heidelberg Heights, Johnston St (which runs through both Smith and Brunswick Streets), the list goes on. All in all, I really think starting on Smith St is your best bet, and you can perhaps try and see if you can find any more in the area. And if you fail to find anything you like in the op shops, do what I do - virtually every time I go to Brunswick St, I end up buying a dress that I don't really need, regardless of whether it's vintage. I did yesterday, in fact. There's some pretty unique items if you look hard enough.I think I'm going to come across like I have a monomania with Brunswick St. Deary me.I suppose the alternative is just heading down Flinders St/Swanston St way, then walking down all the little laneways and trying to go upstairs in the old buildings wherever you can.I dare you to find a vintage store better than Retro Star, thou | | By: Oh My, said Miss Milk | | |
