Empowerment, que numa tradução livre significa “empoderamento” ou “dar poder a…”, é referido no Programa Nacional de Saúde Escolar (página 16), nos seguintes termos: “dos técnicos de saúde e de educação espera-se que, no desempenho das suas funções, assumam uma atitude permanente de empowerment, o princípio básico da promoção da saúde.”
Nesse contexto, julgo que empowerment deve ser entendido como a adopção de metodologias que capacitem os estudantes para a tomada de decisões em função dos conhecimentos e competências adquiridas.
