| | Nokia Looking to Emulate Apple? | | 2007-12-11 11:27:55 | | In a move that can only be seen as flattering to the Apple iPhone business model, Nokia is looking to copy their approach to mobile operators by sharing revenue. Nokia states it has no desire to charge a "kick back" to mobile operators for handsets, but instead will attempt to use this same model from the service side, such as music or navigation services. Now I love Nokia's handsets, particularly their Nseries, but here in the states you will be hard pressed to find a service they offer on US networks. I can see this model working overseas, but even that isn't a guarantee. They have every advantage you can think when it comes to football - great, in state talent, big stadium, big conference, good coaches, and lots of money pouring in from boosters.But with back to back national titles in basketball, the Gator Nation has more to look forward after January than just Spring Practice. So how do the Gators do it? Well, to succeed in college sports today you have to have football as your main source of revenue. The money generated from football allows schools like Florida to recruit nationwide in basketball, improve their facilities, and go after and keep top coaches.
