Fairness Doctrine = Fascism: It's The Plain & Simple Truth
    2008-06-23 10:57:00
There really is no other way to describe it. It can't be rationalized into anything other than an attempt by politicians to keep their actions close to the vest as it were. To silence once and for all, any dissension to their personal or lobbyists agendas. They simply do not like "We the people," a.k.a. their constituency, knowing what they are doing. And still they refuse to give this already-failed-once draconian, nightmare piece of legislation up. Of course the UNfairness doctrine, as it should rightly be labeled, (as it is anything but fair) is aimed at only RADIO programing, just like the original back in 1929. No mention is even hinted at, at either print or visual media outlets, better known as "Lib-friendly" media outlets. And just like back then, it did NOT encourage competitive programing, but discouraged it to the utmost extreme. Radio programing simply discontinued airing anything that could be deemed controversial. Which is exactly what the Lib's want! Since 90% of talk

    Fairness
    2008-05-22 13:12:00

    Are humans hardwired for fairness?
    2008-04-16 13:01:41
Is fairness simply a ruse, something we adopt only when we secretly see an advantage in it for ourselves? Many psychologists have in recent years moved away from this purely utilitarian view, dismissing it as too simplistic. Recent advances in both cognitive science and neuroscience now allow psychologists to approach this question in some different ways, and they are getting some intriguing results. read more

IS BAN ON DOCTORS' MIGRATION SYMPTOMATIC OF LACK OF ECONOMIC EXPERTISE, INNOVATIVENESS, AND FAIRNESS?
    2007-08-22 02:17:00
Before we impulsively jump into it, we have to consider some important points on the floated idea of restricting the migration of doctors, as shown in a Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) news report posted to the Internet, from which I quote, as follows:"DoH: Gov’t can stop doctors from leaving;it is the lawBy Nikko DizonInquirer08/03/2007http://globalnation.inquirer.net/news/news/view_article.php?article_id=80319"MANILA, Philippines — Filipino doctors would be barred from migrating and working abroad to avert a possible shortage of medical practitioners, if Health Secretary Francisco Duque III had his way."You don't expect Indians and Cambodians to treat Filipinos, Duque Thursday told reporters on the sidelines of his meeting with provincial governors and his counterpart in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao....“While we’re out there treating other people, the irony is we don’t have anyone to treat our own people. Of course, the authorities will not allow it. Political

Senate Democrats Support the Fairness Doctrine by Blocking a Crucial Amendment
    2007-07-15 06:11:00
In an act of pure arrogance and stupidity, Senate Democrats on Friday blocked an amendment that would have prevented the return of the Fairness Doctrine, a federal rule that gives the government, not only the ability to license and regulate the public airways, but allows government control of political content as well. South Dakota Sen. John Thune, Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman and other Republicans have been attempting to mirror the actions of Mike Pence (R-IN). Pence effectively thwarted the reimplementation of the Fairness Doctrine in the House of Representatives. We should all be proud to have politicians working for the American people as diligently at him. Sadly, however, when Coleman (R-Minn.), tried to bring up his amendment Friday to a defense authorization bill, Democrat Senator Carl Levin objected. More frightening, Senator Levin is not the only communist who supports the Fairness Doctrine. For example, Senator John Kerry, Senator Dick Durbin, and Dianne Feinstein supp

The “Fairness Doctrine” Temporarily Thwarted by Mike Pence, Indiana Representative
    2007-06-29 23:40:00
In an effort to combat reimplementation of the archaic “Fairness Doctrine,” Congressman Mike Pence, together with Congressman Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and RSC Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) introduced an amendment to the Financial Services Appropriations Bill (H.R. 2829) yesterday. Thankfully the Amendment passed 309-115. The next question is, “Who are the 115 Stalinists?” Here is what Mike Pence’s Amendment will do: It will prohibit funds in the Bill from being used by the Federal Communications Commission to impose the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters. This is no small feat. It is a monumental victory for free speech and Pence should be commended for protecting the 1st Amendment. Moreover, the fear of the “Fairness Doctrine” is certainly warranted. It is one of the most dangerous laws ever conceived over the last hundred years. It gives the government, not only the ability to license and regulate the public airways, but it would allow government control of politica

    Democrats and the Fairness Doctrine
    2007-05-15 12:50:00
Knowing that they cannot compete on the merits of their ideas, Democrats love to try to silence the competition. Why is it that it is the Republicans that always get accused of censorship? Rush Limbaugh explains it this way: Bring it on! Pelosi and the Democrats are resurrecting The Fairness Doctrine to shut up Rush. The left saw their liberal radio network go down in flames, but they won't accept that they cannot compete in the marketplace of ideas. No, they're going to require local radio stations to "balance" Rush's commentary, knowing it will create hassles so thick that radio stations will drop the show. "It's a pure Stalinist tactic," Rush says. "Elected officials of government are attempting to deny private citizens access to the microphone." The focus of Democrats is to make war on Rush, not Al-Qaeda. It's not just Rush, though, it's a host of conservative radio hosts. Of course, Rush is the biggest name, but there are others. Since there ar
