Not long ago I found a great way to make a favicon and install it onto my blog. It may not be much, but it satisfies my needs.
In Photoshop CS2 I designed the small graphic you see in place now. I did that by creating a blank background and using the Text tool to place the letters. The original size was bigger than 16x16 pixels. So when I was done designing the graphic, I resized it by going to Image -> Image Size, then inputting 16 for height and width and selecting pixels. You can do the same with any graphic image.
Originally it was a .jpeg file, which cannot be used for favicons. So I had to convert it to .ico file format. Photoshop CS2 doesn't have a feature for converting to .ico files, so I needed a plugin that would enable me to. I went here to download and install the plugin that would allow me to create .ico files in Photoshop CS2. Once that was in place, I converted the file to .ico,...
