Ebay has stolen my 100% positive feedback!
    2008-05-21 20:22:00
Ebay has stolen my 100% positive feedback!!! Damn them. They mysteriously changed their feedback system on ebay Australia. Now sellers can't leave neg. feedback for buyers and the calculations are done differently. Before, neutral feedback didn't matter so much and now it's been factored in to the total score via this formula:"The Positive Feedback percentage is calculated based on the number of positive, negative and neutral ratings received in the last 12 months as follows:Positives / Positives + Neutrals + Negatives"I have had ONE, ONLY ONE neutral feedback the whole time that I have been on ebay and I have now gone from 100% positive to 99.1%!!!Thieves!!!!I have sent them this angry email:Feedback > Understanding the Feedback system > Calculating feedback scores Message: I am very unhappy with the new feedback rating system. My lovely 100% positive feedback has been stolen from me because I have had 1 neutral comment in my whole history. It was also, I believe, a feedback based on th

    You Must Give Specific Feedback

Some Positive Feedback from Europe (Part II)
    2008-05-09 22:11:43
I received a comment from a gentleman living in Austria on Youtube that confirms that we are just all humans who will, at one point or another, wind up mixed in with “the hype”. The comment is as follows: Actually I WAS one of those Antiamerican morons, one of those “look at barbaric America” freaks. Fortunately [...]

Some Positive Feedback from Europe (Part I)
    2008-05-09 01:36:52
In my last post, I asked some questions. If you are European or Canadian and aren’t Anti-American (see definition), can you have friends that are Anti-American and visa versa? Can you speak about any positive feelings about the US publicly in your country? How about Australians? Or New Zealanders? I’d be most curious. A gentleman who lives [...]

    Negative feedback OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIERS
    2008-05-08 06:19:06
If we connect the output of an op-amp to its inverting input and apply a voltage signal to the noninverting input, we find that the output voltage of the op-amp closely follows that input voltage (I've neglected to draw in the power supply, +V/-V wires, and ground symbol for simplicity): As Vin increases, Vout will increase in accordance with the differential gain. However, as Vout increases, that output voltage is fed back to the inverting input, thereby acting to decrease the voltage differential between inputs, which acts to bring the output down. What will happen for any given voltage input is that the op-amp will output a voltage very nearly equal to Vin, but just low enough so that there's enough voltage difference left between Vin and the (-) input to be amplified to generate the output voltage. The circuit will quickly reach a point of stability (known as equilibrium in physics), where the output voltage is just the right amount to maintain the right amount o

    Divided feedback OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIERS
    2008-05-08 06:18:06
If we add a voltage divider to the negative feedback wiring so that only a fraction of the output voltage is fed back to the inverting input instead of the full amount, the output voltage will be a multiple of the input voltage (please bear in mind that the power supply connections to the op-amp have been omitted once again for simplicity's sake): If R1 and R2 are both equal and Vin is 6 volts, the op-amp will output whatever voltage is needed to drop 6 volts across R1 (to make the inverting input voltage equal to 6 volts, as well, keeping the voltage difference between the two inputs equal to zero). With the 2:1 voltage divider of R1 and R2, this will take 12 volts at the output of the op-amp to accomplish. Another way of analyzing this circuit is to start by calculating the magnitude and direction of current through R1, knowing the voltage on either side (and therefore, by subtraction, the voltage across R1), and R1's resistance. Since the left-hand side of R1 is conne

An analogy for divided feedback OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIERS
    2008-05-08 06:17:26
A helpful analogy for understanding divided feedback amplifier circuits is that of a mechanical lever, with relative motion of the lever's ends representing change in input and output voltages, and the fulcrum (pivot point) representing the location of the ground point, real or virtual. Take for example the following noninverting op-amp circuit. We know from the prior section that the voltage gain of a noninverting amplifier configuration can never be less than unity (1). If we draw a lever diagram next to the amplifier schematic, with the distance between fulcrum and lever ends representative of resistor values, the motion of the lever will signify changes in voltage at the input and output terminals of the amplifier: Physicists call this type of lever, with the input force (effort) applied between the fulcrum and output (load), a third-class lever. It is characterized by an output displacement (motion) at least as large than the input displacement -- a "gain" of at least 1

    Feedback, Acoples, Realimentación
    2008-02-21 05:21:00

    Some feedback please?
    2007-12-04 15:45:00
Does my latest angry diatribe offend anyone? Is it more interesting? less interesting? than say the typical Amerikan Turk news photo with my two sentence comment? I'm trying to find a way to bring visitors back here regularly. Screw Google. I want people to WANT to come here. I want people to say "I wonder what he's pissed off about today?" As I approach the 100,000 visitor mark, I want to be poised to reach 1 million visits before I'm 40.. Recognizing that overall, I'm not a very interesting person, I'm thinking about at least making what I say, very interesting. That means taking off the gloves and throwing political correctness out the window, going on the offensive, attacking the things which are incompatible with my principles, my convictions, my beliefs. Am I just asking for trouble? Traffic.. Yeah huge traffic would be fine and dandy.. as would making more than $1-2 a day on Google Adsense. But what it all boils down to for me is one thing: Having a willing audience, not an audience driven here by a Google search result. For this transformation, I think I need to get out on top of my glass house and start casting stones galore. Am I nuts? Probably.

The Art of Negotiation: This feedback got my web-site indexed in Yahoo in only 4 days!
    2007-08-26 06:46:00
One of the most important aspects of a real estate transaction and for that matter any kind of transaction is the negotiation. The reason I called negotiations an art is because both science and uncertainty are involved. The outcome of any act which involves human beings is inherently uncertain. A successful negotiator possesses complete knowledge of his/her environment.  By that I mean the facts involved in the transaction, and a good knowledge of the other sides want and needs and concerns. A good negotiator tries to optimally leverage any asset she/he has in order to acquire what he/she wants, and remember there is always two sides in any transaction. Having discussed all this I will analyze my feed back to Yahoo. The situation was as follows:A: I wanted Yahoo to index my web site’s pages and had no indication on when or if my web site’s pages were going to get indexed in Yahoo. B: Yahoo is huge, I am little, Yahoo has nothing to gain by indexing my pages and I have everything t

    Shareapic: My feedback
    2007-07-24 06:55:27
I had written a few posts about Shareapic a while back: Get paid to have people view your photo galleries My first few Share-a-pic galleries Just to refresh your memory — Shareapic is a photo sharing service that pays you when people see your photographs. My intention of evaluating Shareapic was to see if it could be a good replacement for PicasaWeb or Flickr, while at the same time getting paid for it. I tried out two different experiments: 1. Uploading personal photos: The aim here was to see if my vacation photos, family photos, etc., which I typically share with the rest of the family could be uploaded to Shareapic rather than the other two sites. 2. Uploading “most-wanted” photos: This is to do with riding the wave; basically uploading celebrity photos, controversial photos, etc. I think the verdict is quite simple and many of you will guess it as well. For #1, you cannot expect to make huge amount of cash. Stick to Picasa or Flickr in my opinion for this categ

    Disable Volume Change Feedback
    2007-05-28 16:24:05
Here's a quick tip. When you change the volume using the keyboard, your Mac plays the usual clicking sound associated with a volume change. You can turn this sound off from the Sound section of System Preferences, but this is a bit time consuming to do every time you want to quietly change the volume.Luckily there is a keyboard shortcut to silence the volume changing beep on a case by case basis. If you hold the Shift key while changing the volume, you will get no audio feedback, meaning you won't bother anyone with the clicking sound. You can also get this to work the other way round. If you turn off the feedback in the Sound section of System Preferences, the clicking sound will only play if you hold down shift before changing the volume.(This is vaguely related to a previous tip - holding option before pressing the volume change keys will open up the Sound System Preferences.)
