| Hearts and Minds, Feminists and Misogynists | | 2008-02-14 08:55:00 | | History~~Ignore at your perilToday, Alexander Graham Bell applied for a patent for his new machine, the telephone. The year, 1876. There are actually 3 different St. Valentines and all of them were martyrs. That somehow doesn't seem particularly romantic. The Way I See It****************Many of us have read in the last few weeks of increasing bombing runs in Iraq by American forces. Given that the surge is touted as such a success, this has always been problematical to me. Why the need? While it is claimed to serve some purpose of killing the bad guys, this kind of overkill has made more enemies then perhaps were there in the first place. Read this article in Alternet, "Iraq: Bombing Creates New Enemies."*******************The IRS has opened an investigation into a California church that openly endorsed Mike Huckabee. The complaint was filed by Americans United for Separation of Church and State. | | Our Feminists vs. Their Feminists | | 2007-10-24 23:38:36 | | Feminism in America has become a hobby. It has become a movement of convenience. While it used to be about women having the right to vote, or equality in to workforce, now it is about trivial matters of fake outrage. For example, the feminists today whine when dangerous professionals like miners and firefighters get paid more than nurses. Then they wonder why there is a pay gap, even though the people who work in these professions do so by choice. The National Organization of Women (NOW) only seem to be outraged when rich white women are not allowed into a private golf club. We may also hear outrage whenever anyone makes a joke about anything. In other cultures around the World, however, women are REALLY oppressed. Yet, American feminists are silent. But, when women are executed for being raped (Yes, being raped disgraces the family), the NOW says that we should respect other cultures. If they do say anything negative about Radical Islam, it is a close 9th to the fact that America has not voluntarily elected a female President.Recently, I saw the most disturbing video involving the treatment of women in Iran. YouTube amazingly removed it because it was so violent. It depicted women being stoned to death for doing nothing other than being women. It also depicted female genital mutilation to prevent women from cheating on their husbands. It was totally awful. When I provided the link to a feminists blog, the bloggers immediately trashed me for being a Right-Wing racist (of Muslims).Imagine that! While women in other cultures are being stoned to death, or executed for not wearing a vale, women in this Country attack those who point this out to them. It is truly pathetic. As a result of my experience, I was inspired to invent this poster. It depicts how our Feminists in America live better than the average man in any other culture, while the Feminists of Iran and radical Islam are tortured or murdered. | | Feminists Have Healthier Romantic Relationships | | 2007-10-15 16:12:37 | | According to a study published in Springer by Laurie Rudman and Julie Phelan, feminism and romance are not incompatible. Furthermore, feminism may also
improve the quality of heterosexual relationships. The study showed that negative feminist stereotypes, that tend to stigmatize feminists as being unattractive and not sexually appealing, are not supported.

| The First Carnival of Radical Feminists | | 2007-05-16 12:50:00 | | Thanks to my gang down under at http://www.katipo.net.nz/stanselen/ for bringing this to my attention:The First Carnival of Radical FeministsI can't wait until we have stuff like this organized for fathers and groups of young men.Other recent highlights from my radical anarchist sister:Trafficking of Women and ChildrenRaising children collectively…So I hacked the tip of my left thumb off with a two-century old sugarcane harvester about a week and a half ago. That's been a joy to deal with. Got to learn how to shuffle cards, change diapers, garden, shower, dishes, etc. with no left thumb. Give it a shot sometime, it's trickily challenging and it might even be fun if you were only pretending to be a crippled gimp. Good thing my gorgeous girlfriend has been around to pamper me and help with the near-impossible tasks.Still plugging away on my goddamn lawn and garden, trying to knock most of the grass down before the girls' birthday bash on June 2nd (e-mail Steph or I for details if you're planning on attending). Camping with your favorite crazies, big and small! Anyway, I've devised a brilliant system for keeping the deer (and my stupid cats) out of my garden:orjust kidding. i just curse at the deer and throw kids books at my cats and dream of the days (next year?) of fancy fences when my future fat wallet learns to be a little less fickle.Despite my infrequent posts and scattered correspondence skills, Pirate Papa has been getting more and more traffic. I just have yet to find that happy medium of personality and privacy demanded by this marriage of publicity and parenthood. So as soon as I find my new voice we'll get this hunk 'o junk really up and running. Thanks to my faithful, loyal audience (friends and strangers alike) and to all those weirdos who find my site through google image searches or strange poorly spelled pornographic searches resulting in the mangled english versions of my twin toddler's twisted talk. It takes all kinds.Had a great trip to Wa... | | By: Pirate Papa | | |
