| | | Food, Frames, Friends and Festivals | | 2008-04-28 23:50:00 | | Well, back to the college in Chalakudy. The first week was rather interesting meeting new friends, getting used to the classes, food and environment. Chalakudy was a quiet cowboy town. Many shops and eating places mushroomed because of the students in my college. Most of them were foreigners and only a handful of locals. Even the locals came from far away towns, some from North India. The foreigners were mostly from the African states of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. There were students from Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. Part of the College Campus A hanger at the collegeIt was really fun living among the students from various nations, sharing with them their customs, cultures and traditions. I made a lot of friends within a short time and friends made a lot of difference in a remote town in South India. | | Open Question: How does music work into film for festivals? | | 2008-02-23 16:14:15 | | I am entering a short film into different festivals. I contacted a person because I want to use her song in my film, she said no problem. I told her full music credit would go to her but I want to answer her question. She asked if its possible for judges or people at the festival to notice the music and be interested in her. I know its film and I want to tell her for sure, but I am sure any publicity is good publicity. Also her name would be out there so she may get noticed that way too. Anybody know for sure if its possible for musicians to get noticed at all at film festivals? Thank you.
