| Friday Morning Flashback: 1999 AFC Divisional Playoff Game | | 2008-05-09 12:09:08 | |
Here's something fun to remember as you enjoy your friday
I remember being at this game. I remember singing "goodbye" to Dan Marino. I also remember the crushing disappointment of the next week as the Jaguars run the Super Bowl was thwarted by the Tennessee Titans. I remember thinking back that this game was filled with hubris and that we paid for it over the next several seasons.
Anyhow, I'm a bit under the weather this week. I'll be back later this afternoon with possibly another interview.

| Jacksonville Jaguars Draft Flashback: 2005 | | 2008-04-25 11:45:02 | |
[EDIT]Now, I'm going to be traveling all day today. With the switch to the new platform, I can schedule my posts, allowing me a great deal of flexibility. Whereas on previous "travel days", you'd suffer from a lack of content, today you get fresh stuff! How cool is that?To start our "draft eve" coverage, let's look back to the 2005 draft and see what sort of treasure and fools gold we found.[/EDIT]There's a rule among the "NFL Elite" that it's a poor decision to grade a draft class until three seasons have passed. In today's "instant history" world, that's impossible as Mel Kiper and the rest of the ESPN Stooges will grade the draft almost as quickly as the pick is made. That's just the demand of the 24 hour sports news cycle playing out in yet another absurd fashion. I understand it, we all want to know that our teams did well, and because of that our media overlords give us what we want. Before we get into the grading the 2005 draft according t | | By: Big Cat Country - An Unoffical Jacksonville Jaguar

An accident occurs at the facility & he sees his father killed before his very eyes. Such a beginning to a movie captures the attention & curiosity of a viewer. Interested viewers will surely want to continue watching the movie. The young boy grows up to be a crime lord, possibly because of his resentment towards the government system that was responsible for his father’s death in the Охота на пиранью (Ahota na piranyu) movie. He is regarded as a hero in a small village deep in the Russian woods. | | By: movie special

| Flashback: My First Angel Food Cake | | 2007-07-10 12:57:00 | | Almost exactly six years ago I made my first Angel Food. I had watched an early episode of "Good Eats" and felt like Alton really provided good ideas for how to ensure a successful cake. And as usual, I never leave good enough alone, so I came up with a few further ideas for how to make it good. And so, below is a reprise of a post from my site six years ago, about how to make a great angel food cake...1.After I finished whipping the egg whites and fine sugar, into a merangue. Note the cool equipment to the left!2.Some tools for sifting the remaining fine sugar, flour, and salt.3.After I folded the dry ingredient mixture into the merangue. This was an extremely difficult step!4.Alton's advice: buy a pan with a post taller than the pan edge. Now, that's some good thinking (of course, I overfilled)! Check out my clever work.5.Still cooling (I backed away slowly, to not knock that thing over).6.That was surprisingly easily to get out of the pan.7.Look at the beautiful carmelization.8.Cut | | By: FoodMayhem | | |

| Flashback: Mile World Record | | 2007-05-15 01:51:00 | | If you've never seen the video, it was an unexpectedly close race between Hicham El Guerrouj and Noah Ngeny in Rome on July 7th, 1999. El Guerrouj made good use of his rabbits but Ngeny tucked in right behind El Guerrouj the entire way, finally making his move with 100m to go. He closed all the way to the tape but El Guerrouj hung on to win in 3:43.13 to Ngeny's 3:43.40. Both runners surpassed Noureddine Morceli's world record of 3:44.39. | | By: Finish Line Pundit: A Track & Field Blog | | |

| Michigan Flashback | | 2005-11-21 18:02:00 | | We've just returned from Ann Arbor after a whirlwind trip to visit the University of Michigan, brother & sister-in-law Jordan and Emily, and various other Flakes of the north. The picture is of Adum and his brothers Jordan and Read in the Law School Quad on campus. The feedback was that our panel speeches and discussion went over well despite the fact that our delayed plane made us late to our own panel. I was amazed at how comfortable I felt talking to all those students and their families. It was much easier than speaking in church in front of people I know. Why is that? It was fun to see Michigan again, but I definitely didn't have any pangs to stay any longer. Our lives were 100% different back then and I can't connect with who I was so it's like visiting someone else's past life. I have forgotten almost everything about the place. It's so weird to be somewhere that you used to know like the back of your hand and not even be able to name the major streets anymore.
