| How to embed fonts on Word, Excel, & PowerPoint files | | 2007-12-04 04:46:00 | | Font style is an essential part of an Office file, especially when used for Presentations or on Reports. When used properly and effectively, it makes the output more interesting to the intended viewers. However, due to increased mobility and sharing in computer technology, it is sometimes difficult for a document to maintain its style when passed on to different users or opened on different computers. The use of files in PDF format is a very effective way in preserving font styles in a document. But the idea of using PDF (I think; at the moment) is still limited to selected individuals.Luckily, the new Office 2007 (by Microsoft) provides an easy way to maintain the font styles used in a document (Word, PowerPoint, or Excel) even if the computer where you'll open it doesn't contain the fonts you used. Here's how:1. Click the Office Button (the round button on the upper-leftmost corner of the interface)2. Select Word Options (or PowerPoint Options or Excel Options). A new window appears. | | By: One Site Fits All. | | |

| Website - sIFR - Customize fonts | | 2007-11-30 19:59:00 | | sIFR (or Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) is a technology that allows you to replace text elements on screen with Flash equivalents. sIFR is the result of many hundreds of hours of designing, scripting, testing, and debugging by Mike Davidson and Mark Wubben. Mike, Mark and an invaluable stable of beta testers, supporters, and educators like Stephanie Sullivan and Danilo Celic of Community MX completely rebuilt a DOM replacement method originally conceived by Shaun Inman into a high quality cross-browser, cross-platform typography solution for the masses (wiki.novemberborn.net).It's a nice way to view your favorite fonts in your web site. You can use any non standard fonts or fonts that are mode by your self. | Free Fonts for download | | 2007-09-21 15:53:14 | | The absolutely best website I've ever found for FREE fonts is dafont.com. You may ask yourself, "Why would I need any more fonts than what came installed on my computer?". Well, I personally create birthday cards, letters, posters, stickers, and other things on my computer, and things always have an extra edge to them if the font used matches the theme. You can find fonts that look like handwriting, typewriter print, and lots of fonts specific to movies and companies. If you want to make invitations for your little girl's birthday party, maybe you want your words to have flowers on them? How about a poster advertising a laser tag game, wouldn't you want your words to look all techno and outer-space-ish?Visit dafont.com now!If you like this blog, please tell your friends!

| More Free Fonts to Download | | 2007-09-21 08:58:31 | | I know I wrote about Dafont.com before, saying that they were a great source for fonts, but they aren't my absolute favorite. I would personally have to give a five star rating to none other than FontFace.com. While they do SELL fonts, they have an amazing collection of fonts contributed by people for free use. And all fonts are clearly labelled whether they are free or not. All the free fonts are in a browsable archive, sorted alphabetically. There are some pretty familiar-looking fonts (related to specific movies and businesses), and pretty much anything in any style. It's quite addicting to browse them.P.S. I can't help it- I'd like to recommend my favorite font. Look for "Joint by PizzaDude" in the "J" section! :PIf you like this blog, please tell your friends!
