| Jelly Belly & Cold Stone Join Forces to Make me Fat | | 2008-05-24 08:06:00 | | In order to compensate for offering flavors like vomit, skunk spray, and rotten egg, Jelly Belly has swung all the way to the other side of the deliciousness scale with a co-branded offering along side Cold Stone Creamery. The new beans come in five flavors that any cream head will recognize: Chocolate Devotion, Birthday Cake Remix, Apple Pie a la Cold Stone, Our Strawberry Blonde, and Mint Mint Chocolate Chip. The first thing I noticed as I gobbled down a few of the colorful beans is how much they taste like the real thing! The chemical goodness is remarkable. The second thing I realized is that I would really rather just have the real thing. Although, at only 100 calories per serving it is a bit easier on the waist line than the 3-400 calories of a small of the real thing. But it does make me want the real thing... real bad! | | By: FoodMayhem | | |

| Rain Forces A Fenway Twin Bill On Saturday | | 2008-05-17 04:35:00 | | A persistantly moderate rain wiped out any chance of Friday night baseball at beloved Fenway Park Friday night, so there will be a Saturday separate admission (of course) twin bill. The first game will start at 3:55pm EDT and the second at 8:35pm EDT. And it will be a scramble to clear the park of the first crowd and allow crowd #2 to file in. If the first game goes into extra innings, I shudder to think of the traffic situation in Boston. This is what someone who was there had to say about last night's eventual postponent...“They thought approaching gametime we might start on time, and when we obviously weren’t, they kept every 15-20 minutes giving us an update, Red Sox manager Terry Francona said. Then it was progressively getting worse and it was supposed to get worse, so that’s when they started checking on other options."Peter here, and we have to hope to win two. | Strike forces GM to suspend truck and SUV orders | | 2008-05-08 06:57:00 | | General Motors has informed its dealers that production of some of its 2008 full-size trucks and SUVs has been halted due to the ongoing American Axle strike. The affected vehicles include the GMC Yukon, Denali, Sierra heavy-duty regular and extended cab, its commercial-duty pickup and variants of Chevrolet trucks and Tahoes. According to the General, a basic lack of parts is the reason for the stoppage and dealer orders for the week of May 8th and May 15th have been cancelled. While a lack of production is bad news for any automaker, we can't help but think that it couldn't have come at a better time for the General as SUV and truck sales are down overall.[Source: Automotive News – sub. req'd] | | By: Car News | | |

He worked the bucket brigade for weeks at Ground Zero. It is at the Gallway Hooker restaurant at 7 E. 36th Street in Manhattan between 6-10 p.m.Baseball New York is strongly supporting this effort. Brian Cashman had sent Ned a signed baseball and a letter in the weeks before his passing that was said to bring him great happiness in his final days, and the Yankees are sending memorabilia to be auctioned off. | Chinese Security Forces Swarm Tibet | | 2008-03-16 04:31:00 | | My Way News -- Soldiers on foot and in armored carriers swarmed Tibet's capital Saturday, enforcing a strict curfew a day after protesters burned shops and cars to vent their anger against Chinese rule.In the Tibetan capital Lhasa on Saturday, police manned checkpoints and armored personnel carriers rattled on mostly empty streets. One Westerner who went to a rooftop in Lhasa's old city said he saw troops with automatic rifles moving through the streets firing, though did not see anyone shot. There are military blockades blocking off whole portions of the city, and the entire city is basically closed down," said a 23-year-old Canadian student who arrived in Lhasa on Saturday and who was making plans to leave.Preparing the public for tough measures, state-run television on the evening newscast showed footage of red-robed monks battering bus signs and Tibetans in street clothes hurling rocks and smashing shop windows as smoke billowed across Lhasa. | | By: THE NEW BABYLON TIMES | | |

| Time for People and legislature to unite with forces to fight against terrorism | | 2008-01-25 04:30:55 | | Sri Lankan legislature lost two of its law makers within one week. Firstly, it was UNP Colombo district parliamentarian T. Maheshwaran who was brutally killed in a Hindu temple. It was followed by road way side claymore explosion killing D.M. Dassanayaka who was the minister of nation building. This clearly shows that now Sri Lankan legislature is severely under threat of terrorism. In the first term, Mr. Maheshwaran was elected to parliament from Jafna district under UNP. However, Maheshwaran himself happened to be a victim of so called ‘cease fire’ agreement signed between UNP leader Ranil Wickramasinghe and LTTE terrorist leader Piripaharan. As provisioned by the agreement, LTTE terrorists were allowed to infiltrate into liberated Jafna peninsula and LTTE fascist carders made sure that no other democratic parties other than LTTE’s proxy front TNA is allowed to contest in the Jafna district in subsequent elections. This resulted in Mr. Maheshwaran to left his home town and landed in Colombo to contest for the parliament in the election. Since he went against the order of LTTE, he was targeted by LTTE pistol gang, but he narrowly escaped despite severe injuries.Mr. Maheswaran was an effective businessman as well and he owned merchant ships which were used to transport goods to the Jafna peninsula. In the past, LTTE was continuously putting pressure on government to jeopardize the food supply to Jafna peninsula thereby creating a crisis situation which can be manipulated by their international political agents for mediation. Therefore, Mr. Maheshwarn not only as a politician, but also as a businessman was going against the will of LTTE terrorism. Mr. Maheshwarn had no second chance in the New Year day and he was brutally killed by an ethnically Tamil gun man from Jafna. As usual, despite historical facts and politico-business background, spineless UNP was too busy criticizing the government for loosening the security of MP, deliberately diverting the attention f | | By: Lanka Rising | | |

| Bowl Preview: Armed Forces, Sun, Humanitarian | | 2007-12-30 22:10:00 | | California v. Air Force: Armed Forces BowlCal finally seemed poised to seriously contend for a national title back in October as they were ranked second in the nation. However, their 5-0 start was nothing more than a mirage, as the Bears then lost six out of their last seven games, including a 20-13 defeat to Stanford in the Big Game. One of the biggest reasons for Cal's collapse was the erratic play of quarterback Nate Longshore and wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Ever since their September victory against Oregon, Longshore had been playing with a chipped bone in his right ankle, which was not known while he was playing. The injury forced Longshore to get rid of the ball quickly, which resulted in 11 interceptions over the last six games. While having big games against Tennessee and Oregon, Jackson struggled mightily with consistency and completely disappeared in several games. Cal's most consistent offensive threat was running back Justin Forsett (pictured), who rushed for 1,406 yards and 13 touchdowns. While Air Force certainly has a good enough offense with quarterback Shaun Carney and running back Chad Hall to put pressure on Cal's average defense, I can not envision Jeff Tedford letting the Bears lose other game to inferior opponent, especially when his quarterback finally appears healthy. California 31-28Oregon v. South Florida: Sun BowlMuch like Cal, Oregon was another Pac Ten that had a chance to appear in the national championship game on January 7th. However, that opportunity fell apart on November 19th when quarterback Dennis Dixon went down with an injury in the first quarter. Without Dixon, the Ducks lost their final three games to Arizona, UCLA, and Oregon State. While they did finally show some life against Oregon State, it is hard to see the Ducks regrouping against a talented USF team. Back in October, South Florida (which is actually in Tampa) was ranked number two in the BCS. They feature an outstanding quarterback in Matt Grothe, who has run fo | | By: West Coast Bias | | |

| The Return of the Forces | | 2007-10-24 16:18:00 | | You can understand if the 20 year old and under crowd in Canadian society is a bit confused lately. Those poor Generation Whatever-letter-we-are-on-now kids, fresh from the leftist, anti-war mind-bath also known as our education system, are having to learn who those strange, khaki-coloured people with the guns are. Given how this poor group had been gutted for over a decade by neglect and outright targeting by the previous federal Liberal administration, I can forgive your failure to recognize them.)One cool thing about not being a member of the Forces myself is that I don’t have to be careful in stating my opinion about either my disgust of the previous anti-military Chretien/Martin government, or my kudos for the current Conservative regime who have more than lived up to their election promises of rebuilding and strengthening all areas of National Defense.P.M. Harper and his team have focused on two primary areas in their plan. The first is recruitment and the public relations side. With hard-hitting, honest television commercials and a revised message through the media to the Canadian people, the image of the Armed Forces has been modernized from the old, stale, 1960’s-style one. Add to that the atmospheric-level popularity that no-nonsense, direct-talking General Rick Hillier enjoys with the Canadian public and military personnel alike, and the effect is like a reawakening by the citizens of the nation to the fact that we have a functional military. The second area is Afghanistan. Sometimes timing is everything in politics, and it certainly is in this case. Finally, a pro-military government takes over the controls in Ottawa at a time when Canada’s Bravest are being asked to take part in an actual combat mission for the first time in a half-century. | Who else wants to discover how to build a diet that forces your body to burn more fat? | | 2007-10-23 10:23:00 | | If your main goal is losing fat what you should know is that if your diet is no incheck then no amount of exercise or supplements will help you reach your goals. A balanced diet is the base on any fat loss program – have a weak base and everything will crumble. Also, you should know that a lot of people misuse the word “diet” – a diet is not a 12 week quick fix, it is “food or feed habitually eaten”. What this translates in is that if you want lasting results you should change your core eating habits. Most diet books fail to get this point across and the ones that do fail to offer a way to re-engineer your diet simple enough so that every one could use it.Building a diet that forces your body to burn fat is a very simple process.I. Revise your food list. You should aim to be eating only natural, unprocessed, fresh and nutrient rich foods. Once you eliminate junk food from your diet you will see immediate results: you energy levels will skyrocket, you won’t have as many cravings as before, you will look and fill better. The foods that you should be trying to eliminate are:Fried foods (fried chicken, French fries etc.)Bakery Products (cookies, Biscuits, doughnuts etc.)Refined Vegetable OilsMargarinemeat fat, dairy fat and palm and coconut oilsall refined sugars and white flour productsFats FoodThe foods you should be eating:Protein sources: chicken breast, turkey breast, fresh fish, lean beef, egg white, milk. Starchy carbohydrate sources: potatoes, brown rice, whole wheat grains, oatmeal, beans, pasta.Fibrous carbohydrate sources: asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, green papers, carrots, mushrooms, onions, peas, salad, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach.Fresh fruit: grapes, oranges, apples, raisins, strawberries, grapefruit, melon. Good fats: Avocado, Almonds (dry roasted), Oil (olive & canola), Salad dressing (light), Peanuts, Walnuts. | Somali forces shut radio station after Islamist interview | | 2007-10-18 09:46:00 | | The forces ordered Mogadishu-based Simba Radio off the air and arrested its chief Abdullahi Ali Farak and a journalist, according to a reporter who works there. The radio on Wednesday evening interviewed Sheikh Mukhtar Robow, a radical Islamist leader, who said he was behind a suicide attack earlier in the day on an Ethiopian army base near a hotel where Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi was staying.Sheikh Mukhtar -- also known as Abu Mansur after training in Afghanistan and fought alongside the Taliban in the early 2000s -- presented himself in the interview as a spokesman for the Somali Islamist movement in Mogadishu, but he has commanded numerous other militia fighters over the past decade.Last month, Somali security forces besieged and opened fire at Shabelle radio, destroying equipment and forcing it to close for 15 days after they accused one of Shabelle reporters of hurling a grenade at a police patrol. | | By: THE NEW BABYLON TIMES | | |

| And Now McLaren And Ferrari Can Join The Forces And Sue FIA... | | 2007-09-20 16:32:00 | | Excellent find from f1fanatic ...It looks like FIA messed up big time when releasing the WMSC transcripts. Before they released them to public, FIA announced this:"Complete transcripts of the July 26th and September 13th hearings have been sent to both McLaren and Ferrari this afternoon. The teams now have the opportunity to redact any confidential technical or financial information prior to publication. The transcripts will be published on the FIA web site at 1200 hrs on Wednesday, September 19th."Well, they did wipe out confidential information. But... There are apparently 2 versions - one (can be found on FIA website) where the sensitive censored info is whitened out. There is also another one, where the same sensitive info is blackened. However simple COPY of the whole document and PASTE in to Word will reveal all that is hiding under the black areas. | Iranian forces crossed Iraqi border | | 2007-06-26 06:28:25 | | From the AFP (courtesy of Memeorandum): Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces have been spotted by British troops crossing the border into southern Iraq, The Sun tabloid reported on Tuesday. Britain's defence ministry would not confirm or deny the report, with a spokesman declining to comment on "intelligence matters". An unidentified intelligence source told the tabloid: "It is an extremely alarming development and raises the stakes considerably. In effect, it means we are in a full on war with Iran -- but nobody has officially declared it." "We have hard proof that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps have crossed the border to attack us. It is very hard for us to strike back. All we can do is try to defend ourselves. We are badly on the back foot." The Sun said that radar sightings of Iranian helicopters crossing into the Iraqi desert were confirmed to it by very senior military sources. moreIf true I'm betting Dick Cheney is currently foaming | | By: Dyre Portents | | |

| Rain Forces A Day/Night Doubleheader Thursday | | 2007-05-17 12:24:00 | | That's right. Two today. In the afternoon battle it will be Mike Moroth versus Julian Tavarez, and in the nightcap Chad Durbin will be pitted against our number one, Curt Schilling. It was also announced that Josh Beckett, said to be healing nicely, will miss his scheduled Friday start. We have to hope that he'll be OK to go Wednesday against the Yankees. That would be great! His replacement Friday? The name that comes up the most is Kason Gabbard. As for Monday's game, it might be Tavarez on 3 days rest, or someone called up from Pawtucket. Maybe Devern Hansack, maybe someone else. The Yankee's rotation has also been altered by rain, and they split their day/night doubleheader yesterday with the White Sox. But in a way, this rain out and subsequent day nighter could help. This is from the Thursday's Herald, and yes, it makes sense.... "The rainout could actually help the Sox, whose three-game winning streak ended with a 7-2 loss on Tuesday. Tavarez, who was originally scheduled t | | By: Peter's Red Sox Forever | | |

| Nobuyuki Forces 3 - Japanese Style Shooter | | 2006-12-20 14:49:00 | | Nobuyuki Forces 3 is a fine action shooter, borrowing it's gameplay and style from Sega's famous Virtua Cop series of games. The character moves through the game's areas in a predefined way, and all of the shooting action have to be performed by the player. I always liked this type of games, because of fast gameplay that keeps you in alert all the time. The game's story is common. A super agent girl has to attack the enemy's headquarters, kill everyone in her way and take out the boss. Reminds me of many titles, with the first coming to my mind being Metal Gear Solid. Well, this one doesn't even touch Metal Gear's greatness, but it follows its path anyway.Controls couldn't be simpler: press the space key to get in shooting position, aim with your mouse and press the left mouse button to shoot. When you run out of bullets you have to reload and you do so by pressing the left mouse button while in hiding position. Under certain circumstances you'll be awarded with various power ups like infinite bullets, shotguns and rifles. And be sure to check the area when the character moves from place to place. There's power ups spread around that you can pick up by clicking on them.In total, the game performs very good and will keep you occupied for a while, especially if you like this type of games. Cool graphics and good sound effects tie together with fast gameplay to form an addictive game. In game music could be better though.Note: The game could take a bit to load, be patient..Link: Nobuyuki Forces 3
