But building God a church is not just for the church to use, it's like Solomon building a temple for God, the temple build is lavish and certainly is expensive. Is it wrong for Solomon to build such a lavish temple? If he was doing something God don't approve, will God let him build the temple successfully? Likewise, If the church is using the money for personal gains and the building is not what God want, then God will not allow them to go unpunished.I say yes because there is a need for it. If your church is only 4000 in strength, a place which can provide up to 2000 is sufficient spreading it out into 2 service. BUT if your church is 12000 in strength, a place that can only provide for 2000 is not enough. Spreading it out into 6 services, increase the cost on the bills and tires out your pastor. And also, by increasing the church space so that many people can come for church service is a very valid reason, with much more spaces to fill we have more reasons to bring people to Christ. They need not worry if their landlord will increase the rent or if they'll be chased out of the place. If the building become a tourist attraction then it's even better, who knows if they'll accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour because of their visit?I notice that some say they rather spend the money in helping the needy than to build a place to worship our God. But shouldn't we choosing both? In fact, we should be bringing people to Christ, Jesus came to earth to save the sinners not just helping the needy. You can be rich yet a sinner and poor yet a Christian.Worshiping God is important and so is helping the needy. Izit wrong if building a better and bigger place, allow more people to worship our Lord, to worship in a more comfortable way, to be able to cut cost and bring more people to Christ.
