Sufi Path of Love - Fragrant and Fresh | Osho
    2008-07-15 23:59:17
1.Sufis tend to remain hidden in a mysterious world, revealing themselves only to chosen seekers of truth - who are receptive and devoted. This has been their way for thousands of years. They pray to God in the middle of night, in its deep silence when the world sleeps, as they don't want to make an exhibition of their prayer.Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita: "The meditator meditates alone in the deep night when everybody in the world is sleeping". And Sufis do the same.2.The story of Sufi Hakim Sanai, a Persian court poet, begins like a political thriller. He's moving with the Sultan of Persia and his military forces on an expedition to conquer India. But as they pass a certain walled garden they come across a drunken singer, who is really a great Sufi mystic, an enlightened man named Lai-Kur.Osho says: Not much is known about Lai-Kur as people like him don't leave many footprints behind them. Except for this story, nothing has survived. But Lai-Kur continues to live in Sufi memory.

    Fragrant Wintersweet Tree
    2008-01-14 08:30:31
Fragrant Wintersweet Tree Chimonanthus praecox (ky-moh-NAN-thus) (pray-koks) Calycanthaceae Thinking I would enjoy the last day of moderate weather I went down to Wave Hill Gardens in the Bronx. What a wonderful winter walk I had around the gardens. I found this plant, Chimonanthus praecox, in full bloom. It didn’t look like a sporadic bloom but it was doing what it did every year at this time.

    Fragrant Water lily (Nymphaea odorata)
    2007-07-01 14:12:00
Fragrant Water lilyNymphaea odorata(NIM-fee-uh) (oh-dor-AY-tuh)NymphaeaceaeI went out yesterday determined to take a landscape shot. I had passed this pond on the way to the nursery on Friday and when I went to get my Green Sheen Pachysandra on Saturday I decided to try and take a few snapshots of the water lilies. There must have been 100’s of thousands of them. Of course I went at midday so the sun was hard to manage but I brought my tripod and tried anyway. That what trying to be an artist is all about to me. Continually getting out of my comfort zone (macros) and trying to do something new. I did okay, I thought, on my landscape type of pictures on Long Island but want to keep trying to get better at it. The water lilies were beautiful and the pond was a buzz with all types of life. After parking and scurrying down the bank I ran into a deer. I was maybe 8 feet from her. I am not sure who was more startled. I didn’t have time to raise my camera before she went crashing through

    Hybrid Tea Rose (‘Fragrant Cloud’)
    2007-06-18 11:45:00
Hybrid Tea Rose ‘Fragrant Cloud’Rosaceae (ro-ZAY-see-ay)Here are a couple of orange roses from the garden. I haven’t seen ‘Cary Grant’ or ‘Playboy’ this year but these two were blooming. ‘Fragrant Cloud’ is a hybrid tea rose with outstanding color and a strong fragrance. Mathias Tantau bred this rose in Germany in 1963. I didn’t think it was that old. The large blossoms are a real treat and can perfume a whole room when cut for the house. This rose has gotten black spot and mildew in my garden.Parentage: Seedling × Prima BallerinaPetal Count: 30Synonyms: Duftwolke, Fragrant Cloud '84, Nuage Parfumé, TANellisThere is only one climbing rose on the entire estate, ‘Joseph’s Coat’. It has fantastic color on the flowers but it does have a lot of disease problems. It is also one of the thorniest roses I know of. It is not as vigorous as some climbers I have seen and seems to need a little more pruning than most. It is slightly fragrant and has a petal count of aro

    Fragrant flowers look pretty
    2007-04-16 07:00:00
Daily HeraldPeople who grew up in the Midwest often long for the springtime sweetness of the lilac blossom bouquets they remember from childhood. The same goes for mockorange. Luckily, both shrubs are easy to grow in this region, although some mockorange varieties are more fragrant than others. Just to be sure, it's a good idea to sniff the mockorange flowers before you buy or choose a variety known for exceptional fragrance, such as Miniature Snowflake...
