    Axial Flux generators
    2008-06-13 15:59:34
I am building a 10kw(approx) axial flux generator to be driven by a wind turbine. The rpm hopefully ,will be around 150 to 200. I have been advised on several ways to construct the rotors and stator. After listening to all the advice I think I will rule out circular magnets and coils. I believe that

Swimming pool salt systems, chlorine generators, saltwater pools, salt water pools, sws
    2008-02-10 13:25:00
Swimming pool salt systems, chlorine generators, saltwater pools, salt water pools, sws, no matter how you say it, I don't think I want one.It seems to me the potential for problems are too great.I've read enough on my fellow bloggers page, The Pool Biz, to wonder why anyone would want one.Assuming all he says is true, and I believe it is, because it all makes sense, not only makes sense, he backs it up with data to prove his points. So much information it would take hours and hours to read it all, so far I've come close to reading it all.Not one of his points has been challenged in a way to make me think he is wrong.I don't know who he is beyond "The Pool Guy" at his blog.He is, in my opinion, a champion of the swimming pool owner. He has no ads on his page, does not promote his own pool service business. The only thing he does on his blog is explain why salt is bad for you and your pool. Here is a short list of the things I have learned.Salt pools can cause some very bad staining.Salt po

How many load generators do I need?
    2007-06-24 02:13:53
How many load generators do I need to run a [insert number here] user load test on a web application?I am often asked how many load generators are needed for a load test with a certain number of simulated users. My answer: It depends. It depends on the system under test. It depends on your test tool. It depends on your specific script. It depends on your load generation hardware. There is no straight forward answer to this question. There is no formula that can be used to extrapolate an answer. There is no one-size-fits-all rule of thumb. Some tool vendors will attempt to provide an answer, but they are wrong. I once spent a half hour arguing with a tool vendor support representative that claimed that I could run 200, and no more than 200, simulated users per load generator regardless of what those simulated users did or what hardware I used to host them. I had successfully simulated 1200 users with this tool for one script but could not simulate 50 users with another script. The number I

    Fun Message Generators
    2007-05-10 14:14:13
I was Stumbling the other day and I came across this interesting application on a site called Atom.Smasher.Org. The particular application that I “Stumbled Upon” was a road sign message generator, but on the same site were several other custom message generators as well. I decided to play around with them and below are a few of the messages I created. It’d be a lot easier to make the jump if the other cars would hurry up. The other white meat. A bit of NYSE humor. Pressing the importance of alternative fuels. I’d like to buy a vowel. Overused? Maybe. Classic? Definitely. ^_^ You can go to Atom.Smasher.Org to create these and other types of customized images as well. If you decide to make your own images make sure to come back here and post a link to them in the comments so that I and others can check them out, you will also be put on the ‘High Five’ list to the right to help promote your name and website/blog.
