I feel compelled, though, to give a special push to a post by Anonymous Coward about a woman who concluded that Africans are starving because they are evil. I think this one caught my attention because it reflects the attitude about ‘them’ that oozed out of the good christian folk of my childhood.

However, many of the ordinary, non-expert parents who teach religion to their children are also morally culpable. In particular, parents who teach that faith is a virtue are guilty of a high epistemic crime. To deliberately choose to believe something — anything — on faith alone is to positively embrace madness.
