Expect unexpected.Shanghai Track, picture: Shanghai CircuitUnless you live nearby and travel by train or bus, your port of entry will be Pudong airport (or Hongqiao if you fly in domestically from some destinations). Pudong Airport is state of the art airport, with not so state of the art facilities. As in most Chinese airports you can expect extremely overpriced restaurants and coffee shops with average or way below average quality of food. Do not be surprised by $10 for cup of coffee. So my suggestion is, get out of the airport quick. The airport is quite far away even from the Pudong area of Shanghai. Walking to your hotel is out of question. Unless somebody is

    2007 Belgium Grand Prix - Spa-Francorchamps, September 16
    2007-09-12 12:00:00
Aside from being the home to one of the greatest circuits on the Formula One calendar, Spa is recognised throughout the world for its water. The Romans were the first people to discover its natural springs deep in the Ardennes countryside, and people still visit the town today in search of hydrotherapy. The biggest industry in the town is the famous bottled water company, Spa. The mention of water is never far from people’s lips at the circuit, which is eight kilometres from the town. One of the most fearsome corners on the lap is Pouhon, which translates into English as ‘water well’ and the Ardennes has a micro-climate all of its own, hence rain tyres are never far from the cars. The bright lights of Liege and Brussels are a 40-minute and two-hour drive respectively, so there is something for everyone at the Belgian Grand Prix. The Belgian GP timetable The Belgian GP marks the 14th round of the 2007 season. No U.S. Grand Prix in 2008 Formula One Race, Said By Ecclestone
    2007-07-18 13:40:00
LONDON (Reuters) - Formula One will not return to the United States next year, the sport's commercial supremo Bernie Ecclestone and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway said on Thursday. "We didn't reach an agreement... Let's see if we miss America," Ecclestone told Reuters, adding that no other U.S. venue was lined up to replace Indianapolis on the 2008 calendar.Indianapolis, who had set a July 12 deadline, said in a separate statement that the two sides had failed to do a deal to continue after eight grands prix at the Brickyard."After several discussions, Bernie Ecclestone and I were unable to agree how to keep Formula One in Indianapolis for the near term," said IMS chief executive Tony George in a statement."However, we have agreed to leave the door open for a potential future date."It has been a pleasure having the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis, and I hope that as we approach our Centennial Era at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, an opportunity might present itself that

Thank you to Charity Cars for the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix
    2007-07-12 17:01:00
It was very generous and kind of you to donate a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix to myself and my family. I appreciate having a comfortable, safe and reliable car to drive to work, especially since I could begin driving it just as the winter chill really set in. Having this car also means I can now drive to visit elderly relatives who live some distance away. Thank you again.Ken

Hamilton Hails 'Insane' US Grand Prix Win
    2007-06-18 06:47:00
Lewis Hamilton revealed his joy at taking his secondF1 race win in Sunday's United States Grand Prix.Hamilton led a McLaren one-two ahead of team-mate Fernando Alonso at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, increasing his lead over Alonso at the top of the Drivers' Championship to 10 points."What a dream," said the young British star, who won in Canada last week in his rookie season."To come to two circuits (Montreal and Indianapolis) that I didn't know and to really come out with such pace and to see the team moving forward is great. I hoped maybe I could get a podium at some point but I have been on the podium the last seven races. It's insane."Unlike in Montreal, Hamilton was forced to withstand relentless pressure from his McLaren team-mate to clinch victory."The first couple of laps were close and then I managed to pull a slight gap. In the middle sting my tyres just started to drain and Fernando was right up my tail."It was very tough, he fought very well but at the end I managed

Formula 1 - Grand Prix in India in 2009 - Can They Pull It Off ?
    2007-06-15 05:36:00
Rumours about Indian GP have been circulating for months or years. It's been for so long that one looses track of it. The places changed, venues changed. It looked recently that all settled on street race in New Delhi. According to the news that broke out yesterday, New Delhi it is, or will it be ? There has been a change of mind (if there ever was any mind) and now we are talking about new purposedly built track, not a street circuit. So Mr. Tilke will have to make another trip and make a new survey. This track will likely be built somewhere outside of the city. Some roads or streets or trains would be nice if fans are to get to the new track. And all of this we are made to believe will be ready by 2009.Don't take me wrong, I think that to bring the race to India is great idea. Formula 1 has huge following there, can't even compare it with China. Just check the ESPNSTAR website and their Fantasy League and see where most of the fans come from. But will they be able to build the tra

Schumacher's Analysis on Spanish Grand Prix
    2007-05-22 03:24:44
The Spanish Grand Prix was quite a rough weekend for Ralf Schumacher and the rest of the Toyota F1 Racing team. It was pretty exciting but I'd be very happy if they have notched the top finishes of the race. Too bad, they were infested by so many technical problems.

Formula 1 - Spanish Grand Prix Preview
    2007-05-07 10:01:00
After 4 weeks break we are back to racing with opening of the European season. With no Imola this year and the Nurburgring race taking up the slot of German Grand Prix later in the season the honour to open European racing goes to Barcelona track. Here is the flying lap:Drivers should be quite familiar with this track with lots of testing happening right here. However comparing to last year there is a new shicane towards end of the track ready to spoil some drivers' races:Last year the win went to Alonso ahead of M.Schumacher and Fisichella. Here are the highlights:No doubt the win in his home GP is always on the top of Alonsos annual wish list.In last 10 years the Spanish GP wins went to McLarens and Ferraris. The only 2 drivers from other teams were in Renault powered cars - J.Villeneuve in Williams-Renault in 1997 and F.Alonso in Renault last year. Here are the results from past 10 years of Spanish GP, listing all the finishers.20061) Fernando Alonso – Renault - 1:26:21.7592) Mic
