Of particular interest in the (interestingly translated) interview is further talk about how long multiplayer games should last. While it was reported earlier this year that Ensemble expects a typical match to last from 15-30 minutes -- RTS fanatics know that this is pretty short for the genre -- Devine notes that games can feasibly range from 10 to 45 minutes with the average landing at around 20 minutes. Probably the other most noticeable tidbit was Devine's response regarding local multiplayer. When asked about whether or not local mutliplayer was an option, Devine responded, "You can play against the AI in skirmish mode. That's a large component of the game." To quote: “While the Legendary Map Pack doesn't feature a map that you can build from scratch a la Foundry it does have a pretty unique series of Forge objects and some new knicks and knacks for Legendary purchasers to tool around with. | Heroic Halo 3 Map Pack Goes Free | | 2008-03-24 19:33:24 | | Following the revelation of the Legendary Map Pack, Bungie has announced that the Heroic Map Pack for Halo 3 will become a free download starting tomorrow, March 25, at 2 AM Pacific time. The map pack includes the maps Rat’s Nest, Foundry and Stand Off; it was originally released in December 2007 for 800 Microsoft points. “Remember, as of the April playlist update, the Free Heroic Maps will be required in Ranked Big Team, Social Big Team, Team Slayer and Rocket Race playlists,” writes Bungie’s Luke Smith on the studio’s website. “We’re requiring these maps in the following playlists to give players more options with the map rotations and by including a high population playlist like Team Slayer, we hope that the maps will permeate through the Community, resulting in more games played on these maps in Matchmaking.” The Legendary map pack is set for release this April for 800 Microsoft points. Look at this guy taking people down with his sniper :D Haha NO-zoom sniping is awesome, only wish I was better at it myself.
