Should we be worried about Porter’s hamstring? Vic: I think there’s reason for concern. He was signed to be the number one receiver this team hasn’t had and desperately needs. I don’t know much about hamstring surgery because I can’t remember a player I’ve covered who’s had one, but I think it’s clearly an obstacle that has to be overcome. The Jaguars need him. That’s why they paid $10 million to sign him. His rehab from this surgery is very important. Vic Ketchman's "Ask Vic"

Quick Bytes: Jerry Porter's got a Hamstring, Jason Taylor's got a new team
    2008-07-20 23:10:53
Quick Bytes: The daily digest of everything you need to know about the Jacksonville Jaguars (and other things). : This, as you can tell, is a Hamstring.  Jerry Porter recently had surgery on his after hurting it during mini-camp.  People panicked. : The Jaguars have four significant injuries to follow during training camp: defensive end Jeremy Mincey (wrist), safety Chad Nkang (wrist) and tight end George Wrighster (knee). This means that James Wyche probably gets the final roster spot at DE, someone else will have a chance to step up on special teams, and the tight ends behind Marcades are a muddled mess of potential and injuries. : The Jaguars Jason Taylor saga is over.  He's now a member of the Washington Redskins after they suffered the worst opening of training camp in NFL history.  Nothing scares me more than early training camp injuries, they ruin teams.  No matter what happens during camp, I want nothing more than our roster to make it to

Jerry Porter Hamstring Injury: Trouble Brewing? (Updated)
    2008-07-18 17:12:22
[Note by River City Rage, 07/18/08 10:11 PM EDT ]UPDATE: Jerry Porter underwent a surgical procedure to repair his hamstring.  Jaguars.com, to it's credit, has a very in-depth story on what happened.  Clearly, this is now a "thing", and we'll monitor it closely.  Now, do your homework this weekend and figure out the recovery rate of this injury. John Clayton of ESPN is reporting that Jaguars Wide Receiver Jerry Porter will likely miss part of training camp due to a lingering hamstring injury from training camp.  You'll recall that Jerry "came up lame" during a drill during OTA's that caused him to have limited participation in minicamp, this indicates that the injury is a bigger problem than we realized. From Clayton: Porter hurt the hamstring toward the end of an offseason practice in May, according to the Florida Times-Union. According to two sources, he will not be ready for the start of camp next Friday. Porter is expected to recover in time for the start of th

NEWSFLASH: Blalock Out 3-4 Weeks With Hamstring Tear
    2008-04-28 16:58:29
This is not the news that the Texas Rangers were hoping to hear. Multiple local media sources, including Anthony Andro of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, are reporting that a Monday morning MRI performed on third baseman Hank Blalock’s ailing left hamstring revealed a “small tear,” which is expected to sideline the two-time All-Star for at least [...]

Oh No, Joba Has A "Hamstring Problem"
    2008-04-26 14:37:00
From Peter Abraham:Joba has a hamstring problem, the result of slipping off the mound in Chicago on Thursday night. He was not available yesterday. Joe Girardi said the injury doe not impact how he will be used. Whether that is true or not, I have no idea. It has become fairly evident in a short time that Girardi will play loose with the truth about injuries. He said that Bruney’s MRI showed no structural damage. Well, execept for the fractured ligament that will require surgery and keep him o

Molina Injures Hamstring in Yanks Loss
    2008-04-14 00:23:00
Jose Molina strained his left hamstring in tonight's game, and will probably go on the DL. The Yankees will likely call up Chad Moeller to replace him on the roster. With Jorge Posada still unable to throw, look for Moeller to start tomorrow in Tampa. It's really a shame; Molina has been one of this team's best hitters, hitting .364 with 7 doubles, and he's a great defensive catcher.

Here is some footage for Flex Magazine that features Frank Zane (an older version of the 3 time Mr. Olympia), Kevin Levrone and Shawn Ray. The latter two look very pumped and I would imagine this work out DVD sold like crazy:

T.O. Misses Another Practice with Sore Hamstring
    2007-08-01 20:28:14
Looks like T.O. is starting to get his usual summer vacation in, as today he didn’t take part in the Cowboys morning practice resting his sore hamstring.  Owens got a break as well on Tuesday to rest, and per usual at camp, all eyes were on the flamboyant wide receiver.  He wore shorts and spent part of practice working out with trainers.  He spent the session doing leg kicks with large OL Flozell Adams, who is also trying to come back from knee surgery.  T.O. did stand with his offensive teammates during team drills. It appears that new coach Wade Phillips is taking a vastly different approach than that of former coach Bill Parcells, as on Tuesday, the coach told the WR to take it easy.  It was about this time last season that the daily spectacle at camp was watching Owens work out on a bike.  Parcells would only refer to him as “the player.”  Now both Cowboys top receivers are not out on the field, as Terry Glenn was back in Dallas for arthroscopic surgery o

So, How Long Before Clemens Suffers a Hamstring Injury?
    2007-05-06 23:36:00
Roger Clemens today decided that he will sign with the Yankees for 2007.That's great news. I simply don't want that Carpetbagger in a Red Sox uniform again. Ever.He burned his bridges in Boston in 1996. Let him go into the Hall of Fame with this appropriate logo on his cap: $It makes me look forward to the return of Jon Lester to the Red Sox even more. Now THAT should be something special.
