| Dangerous Hester Getting a Shot at Offense | | 2007-05-15 15:54:02 | | After becoming a record setter a season ago, the Chicago Bears are doing what they can to get the ball in Devin Hester’s hands more often. The team is going to move Hester to wide out as well as running back this upcoming season. Hester already returns kicks for the Bears, and plays cornerback.
Last season Hester ran back five kicks for TD’s last season, including the opening kickoff to the Super Bowl, which the Bears eventually lost to the Indianapolis Colts. Head coach Lovie Smith knows that the team needs to get Hester more involved in the gameplan. “I think Devin Hester is one of the most exciting players in the NFL with his hands on the football,” Smith said to ChicagoBears.com. “I think he would be an excellent defensive back, also. We just feel that this is in the best interest of us and him for him to achieve his full potential as a football player.”
