It all helps. Tonight's game was a crazy one.-(Deep Breath)-The Bucs scored in the first after a Nyjer hustle double. They tacked on another in the 3rd (both runs via Doumit RBI singles). The Dodgers scored 4 off Duke in the 4th, two of them thanks to a 2-out walk to the pitcher. Adam LaRoche hit a solo shot to make it 4-3. The score stayed 4-3 until the 5th, when with two outs and nobody one, three straight men reached base and LaRoche sent one yard to center for the third Pirate grand slam of ...

Home Runs Power Red Sox Victory...Boston Red Sox 6 Toronto Blue Jays 5
    2008-08-25 04:12:00
This was an exciting game! Sunday afternoon in Toronto, the Red Sox and the Blue Jays played the final game of their three game set, and Boston emerged victorious by a score of 6-5. Five of their runs came from the long ball, with Pedy Pedroia hitting a crucial three run bomb to left in the third inning off a neck high pitch from starter AJ Burnett. They scored four runs that inning, but the Blue Jays went ahead 5-4 after six. It was time for some heroics, as this game was viewed as a big one by every Sox player. And Coco Crisp delivered in the seventh with a solo home run to tie that all important score. It stayed tied as the beleagered Boston bullpen came through with five scoreless innings. Now that's priceless! And then came the eleventh, and Jed Lowrie promptly hit the game winning home run to right center. Little Manny Delcarmen relieved Jonathon Papelbon, who had breezed through the ninth and tenth innings, needing only 16 pitches. And Manny came through and the Red Sox, battere...

    2008-02-19 09:02:04
Excelling in F&I means you’re skilled in several areas. Being a strong closer may mean more products sold, but having weak needs discovery skills translates into higher charge-backs and low CSI scores. More: continued here...

    2007 Cubs home runs
    2008-01-02 12:25:01
The 2007 version of the Cubs was not exactly a power hitting team. They won despite their overall average to below average offense. They ranked 11th in the NL in home runs and fell 18 long balls shy of the NL average. Hit Tracker keeps track of all the home runs and [...]...

Ninth Inning Home Runs Assure The Red Sox A Win...And A Clinch For The Playoffs!
    2007-09-23 12:06:00
Boom! BOOM! And just like that, in the ninth inning Saturday night, the Boston Red Sox forged ahead to an 8-6 lead and Jonathon Papelbon started warming up in the bullpen for the bottom of that frame. And 12 pitches later, it was ovah!! SOX WIN, and better yet, they clinched a playoff berth....no ifs, ands or buts. They're in. Of course, winning the AL East would be so nice, but that will have to wait as they try to win all seven of their remaining games. Were it not for the ineptitude of the Toronto Blue Jays, who blew a 2 run lead over the Yankees in the bottom of the ninth, the Sox would be up by 3 1/2 games instead of 2 1/2. But an error by the Jays' second baseman let the tying two runs score, and the pinstripers went on to win the game in 10. Oh well, enough about them.Daisuke Matsuzaka was good until the seventh inning, when he walked Velandia and Iwamura. His night was done, and the score at the time, with 2 on and 2 out, was 5-3 Sox. A quality start, albeit with a ton of pitch...

Home Runs And The Daisuke We've Been Waiting For! 22-10....Not Bad!!
    2007-05-10 12:44:00
The Boston Red Sox continued to get great pitching and for the second game in a row hit 4 home runs, which was more than enough for Daisuke Matsuzaka. Whatever between-starts changes he made to his routine, they helped. He went 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and only 1 run while fanning 8. Now that's more like it! The homers were hit by Julio Lugo, Manny Ramirez, Big Papi and Mike Lowell. Donnelly came in and pitched a clean 8th and Piniero was a slob in the ninth when the game was out of reach. Some closer he would have been. And here is more on Daisuke's change of between-start activities, so different than pitchers in America. Thanks to the Herald from the Hub of the Universe....Boston, for this........ "Daisuke Matsuzaka was already at Rogers Centre, putting himself through a vigorous workout approximately four hours before his start against the Toronto Blue Jays last night. Coming on the heels of a 109-pitch bullpen session Sunday, the Red Sox [team stats] right-hander threw in...

    A-Rod’s Home Runs, Sparkline Style
    2007-04-23 00:50:01
Though I’m an A’s fan through and through, and I — like any good baseball fan — can’t stand the Yankees, I can’t help but notice and respect what Alex Rodriguez has done so far this year. Through 16 games, he’s hit 12 home runs, just two shy of the record for April. With another week of the month left, it certainly seems as if he’ll equal or break that mark. However, don’t go forecasting 100 homers for A-Rod this season. He’s just in a hot streak. He’s been a streaky home run hitter his entire career, as shown by the sparklines below. Each mark indicates one game, with a red mark indicating how many homers he hit — the higher the bar, the more home runs. Gray is a homer-less game. 1994: 1995: 1997: 1998: 1999: 2000: 2001: 2002: 2003: 2004: 2005: 2006: 2007: You can see that there have been many periods in his career where he’s just crushed the ball for a week or two, then gone comple...
