    Connors State College is offering horticulture classes for the spring 2007 semester.Topics include: residential landscaping, maintaining the home landscape and selecting plants for Oklahoma landscapes. Potential students will be able to select one class or two or take all three classes.The first class offered is residential landscaping. Class meets from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays on Jan. 18, 25, Feb. 1, 8 and 15 in Warner.Maintaining the home landscape will detail what to do to your landscape. The class meets Thursdays on Feb. 22, March 1, 8, 15 and 29.Selecting plants for Oklahoma landscape meets on Thursday evenings on April 5, 12, 19, 26, and May 3.The cost for each of the three classes is $71.45. Enrollment can be completed at the registrars office at the Muskogee or Warner campuse.

    Scoop The Horticulture New Zealand (HortNZ) Commodity Levy Referendum has returned strong support with 78% of votes by number and 73% by value in favour. All six separate voting pools have come through with positive support. The level of support is above the 50% of votes both by number and value required by the Commodity Levies Act. The next step in the process is for HortNZ to submit an application to the Minister asking him to put the new levy in place. We hope that the new levy will be in place by July 2007 when it will replace the existing New Zealand Fruitgrowers Federation and the New Zealand Vegetable and Potato Growers Federation levies...
