| | Does Being Overweight Affect One's Job hunting? | | 2008-04-29 18:23:00 | | I don't usually write about weight problems but this headline caught my attention. I have a dear friend who is overweight and has been looking for a job for the past 13 months. I won't forward this to her, for fear it will hurt her feelings and I'm not convinced this is the reason she hasn't found work.(Natural News) Does being overweight affect job hunting? The answer to the headline question appears to be an unequivocal Yes, obesity does affect job hunting. When it comes to career advancement or job hunting, it often used to be 'not what you know, but who you know'.According to recent research undertaken by the State University of Detroit and the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology in San Francisco they suggest a current generational change to weight base bias, suggesting it's now 'how you look', not how good you are!Findings presented to the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology in San Francisco indicate a major set of stereotypes associated with being ov... | | By: Whole Food And More | | |

| | The Basics of Coupon Code Hunting | | 2008-04-05 06:44:00 | | Since most great online deals start with a coupon code, it is essential that you know exactly how to find the latest and greatest codes. I wish I could say that coupon code hunting were as easy as a quick search on Google, but you will find that, with a little practice, you can be sure to always have the very best bargains at your fingertips. There are 2 main avenues to follow when searching for codes; coupon code sites and message boards. Let's explore each.#1 Coupon Code SitesIf you do a quick google search for "coupon code" you are bound to come across page after page of these sites that focus on getting coupon codes to the public. You can even search for "target coupon codes" or "old navy coupon codes" for more specific results. | | America's Next Top Model: Nigel Barker Speaks Out Against Seal Hunting | | 2008-02-26 03:29:15 | | Nigel Barker provides insight to the young America's Next Top Model contestants that goes beyond what he learned during his years as a male model. He's spent time behind the camera as well, and so can speak to them both as someone who walked in their shoes and as someone who could be calling their career shots. We might see him most often as part of the elimination panel, but Nigel is keeping busy outside of the America's Next Top Model world as well, and he's recently taken on the cause of banning the seal trade.Nigel blogged about the controversial trade, first explaining that this is a large-scale issue for the animals: “Canada's commercial seal hunt is the largest slaughter of marine mammals on Earth. In the past three years, more than one million seals have been killed for their fur.”The practice is condemned, Nigel said, for the particularly cruel way in which the seal fur is gathered. “In 2001,” he writes, “an independent veterinary panel studied the commercial seal hun... | | By: Fashion Models Biography, Images, Photos, News | | |

| | Junk Hunting in Japan | | 2008-01-27 09:14:00 | | People throw out all sorts of things here in Tokyo. If you don't really mind owning second hand electronic appliances, then sort to junk hunting. In Tokyo, you can't just throw anything especially electronic appliances because the government requires you to pay an equivalent Disposal Fee for each item to be disposed. For example, a friend of mine threw their old Toyota car a few years ago. They paid the City Hall 50,000 yen for the disposal fee. Imagine, you will be throwing a car and yet you still have to pay for it? An old analog TV here will be phased out by 2012 to pave way to HDTV. Meaning, all present and old televisions that are not HDTV complaint will be junked in the coming years. So people with these TV sets, tend either to sell or dispose them off whatever means possible. Or others here tend to give it away for free. And surprisingly, foreigners are the ones scavenging anything here. From books, clothing, toys, electronic gadgets, appliances, household items, furnitures, aut... | | By: Rey Ian\\\\\\\'s Personal Blog | | |
| | Low Cost Car Insurance - Definitely Go For Hunting Low Cost Car Insurance | | 2008-01-26 16:09:20 | | Car insurance is a necessary part to having a car, and we all really need a car to get around these days. However, most people do not take the proper time or put in the proper effort when it comes to auto insurance and they end up paying a lot more on average than they need to be. There are certain things that you can do in order to find Low Cost vehicle Insurance, of which will be discussed in detail here.Following of a Systematic Procedure for Low Cost Car Insurance:The first step to finding stumpy Cost auto Insurance is to make sure that you get several quotes. You never want to just go with the first company that you see to 'make it easier' because by shopping around you will be able to find much better deals and thus end up saving yourself a lot of money in the end of it all.You also want to make sure that you review your policies annually, and this means asking for a new review and getting new quotes every year or so, and as well you want to take any kids off of your policy, because having them on is going to dramatically increase the rate that you pay.You want to raise your deductible, because you will always get more Low Cost Van Insurance with higher deductibles. The best idea is to plan to pay the first $1,000 or so of that accident if it happens someday, and then in the meantime you can save far more in premiums over those years. You also want to drop your collision coverage because once the value of your car is below a certain amount then you want to drop the collision coverage, because it does not make sense for you to pay out thousands over a few years just to insure a car that is only worth a few thousand on its own.Sources of Hunting for Low Cost Car Insurance:To get a small Cost Car Insurance, log on to their website and fill in the required information. Make sure you're as honest as possible. It can be tempting, especially with the anonymity afforded by the internet, to be dishonest in the hopes of receiving a lower quote, but it's not wise to ... | | By: Auto News: Car Reviews, Car News, Car Shows | | |

| | Harajuku: Bargain Hunting and Sight-Seeing | | 2007-12-21 10:09:00 | | I first heard about the word and place Harajuku from our HR in Makati. She would always tease me not to fall in love with girls in Harajuku. Well, I finally set foot on this place. I can say that this is like an upscale Okachimachi. Takeshita street is filled with so many souvenir shops, fashion accessories, clothes shops, jewelries, lingerie shops, RTWs, crepe shops and restaurants. Compressed and just one street and this place is filled with so much people who want to find affordable fashion wears.Along Yamanote line, get-off at Harajuku and then when you go out of the station, this street is already visible from the other side. One thing for sure is that your money here can buy more than you can buy in the fashion streets of Ginza, Roppongi and Shibuya.Wolfgang's restaurant is also here. I don't really know if this is really his restaurant. But from outside, it seems that this restaurant serves delicious food. Many foreigners fill this road. When visited this place, most people were dragging their luggages along with them. Mostly foreigners, and locals who purchase fashion wear there.Harakuju, probably, has the largest density of crepe shops. In every corner or block, there is always a crepe shop. Prices range from the basic 300 crepe to 800 filled mango and strawberry filled stuffed with ice cream. Here you can also find those very popular show clogs. The tall-sole-type boots whom women here always wear. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.Harajuku also offers RTWs for all sexes and ages. From children to adults, name it, they have it. There are other parts of Harajuku that are worth visiting aside from Takeshita. Maybe I will post it the next time around.... | | By: Rey Ian\\\\\\\'s Personal Blog | | |
| | Hunting - Behavior | | 2007-12-14 21:57:00 | | The lynx and the leopard lurk close beneath the skin of our domestic cat, even in playThe cat is a natural carnivorous predator, but it is not a completely instinctive hunter. The urge to hunt successfully is induced and honed by competition and demonstration; the skills are learned by observation, and trial and error. Cats are not born good bird-catchers, for example - in fact until they have thoroughly practised the art over and over again. They are downright bad at it.Learning from mother and other cats is essential, and a good teacher makes a good pupil. the offspring of non-hunting cats rarely make good hunters themselves. There may also be a genetic factor. The cat's hunting technique is inherited originally from its forest-dwelling ancestors, for whom ambush was more rewarding than the chase.Hunting techniqueOnce the cat has located a suitable victim by means of its senses, it begins to approach slowly and cautiously, using every bit of available cover. Next, to cross any open space, it travels forward rapidly in a movement known as the "slink-run", its body pressed close to the ground to reduce its outline. The slink-run is broken by pauses when the cat stops and stares intently at the prey. After several such runs and pauses, the cat reaches a patch of cover nearest to the prey from where the final attack can be launched over a relatively short distance. Here it "ambushes": lying crouched, eyes glued to the prey, hind feet making treading movements as if revving up for the charge, and tail-tip twitching in feverish anticipation.Suddenly the final attack is mounted. The cat breaks cover and shoots forward, body still held fairly close to the ground. When it it within striking distance, it raises its fore parts and leaps on to its prey. While the fore paws pin down the victim, the hind feet act as anchors planted solidly on the ground. The KillNow comes the kill.If the prey starts to struggle, the cat may release it briefly and then repeat the final attack in ... | | By: Kitty Cat Meow | | |
| | The Truth About Hunting | | 2007-12-12 00:38:59 | | Over at The American Thinker they have a highly interesting interview with Frank Miniter a senior editor of Outdoor Life magazine and also the executive editor of American Hunter magazine who recently wrote The Politically Incorrect Guide to Hunting. In the interview he addresses some of the most common myths about hunting:Miniter: Many nonhunters think hunters are simply bloodthirsty. I dare any nonhunter who feels that way to go to a hunting club, lodge, or hunting show and meet hunters, or simply to read a hunting magazine. If they do they'll find that hunters care deeply about our natural resources. I'm a bird-watcher, hiker, kayaker, wildlife photographer, and yes, hunter.Another underlying myth about hunting is that if you don't hunt, eat meat, or wear leather products you are somehow beyond reproach. This myth falls apart when you realize that every farmer-and this goes double for small organic farms-has to control wildlife populations lethally in order to have crops left t... | | By: Dyre Portents | | |

Is it that they’d like their wife to hump the dog and they need to find a polite way of broaching the subject with her or are they looking for a psychologist who can help the wife with the dog-humping habit? It’s all a bit of a mystery, isn’t it? According to Gormley, Flyers GM Paul Holmgren tried to “sign restricted free agent Derek Boogaard away from the Minnesota Wild,” but the Wild retained his rights. Boogaard is six feet and seven inches tall and weighs 250 pounds.
Holmgren has also expressed an interest in veteran tough guy Chris Simon. The unrestricted free agent forward stands six feet and four inches tall, and weighs 235 pounds.
Whoever the Flyers will bring in to drop the gloves, they will have to do it on the cheap as the club sits about $800,000 under the NHL’s salary cap. | | Hunting for a mortgage? | | 2007-07-17 18:56:30 | | As ‘yall know I’m in the process of remortgaging our place back in the UK and have been hunting around for a decent offer.
Whilst there are a fair number of sites out there which offer best-buy lists they usually aren’t overlly useful to me. For a start, our property is in Northern Ireland which rules out a whole range of mortgages, then it’s a buy to let mortgage and to cap it all, it needs to be on the basis of self-certification of income. Net effect? Well, the aforementioned best-buy lists are pretty much useless and a mortgage broker is definitely the way to go.
Mortgages are on offer by a range of brokers with a number of them specialising in the buy to let market, itself quite a specialist niche. If you’re planning on building up a property empire you usually need a bit of advice on this front at the outset: should you set up a company to own your properties for instance?
Anyway, all being well, we’ll not be remortgaging again for a while, t... | | By: Foreign Perspectives
| | Wabbit Hunting | | 2007-07-05 22:27:51 | | The Boy and I were playing in the backyard the other evening when we spotted a couple of brown bunnies nibbling at our neighbor’s brand new grass. The boy, great white hunter that he is, immediately headed off to catch them. I followed him about halfway across the lawn before he turned to me, mimed for me to stop, then began creeping, soooo slowly, sooo carefully towards them wascally wabbits.
About five minutes into his hunt, I noticed that our neighbor had come out to water her lawn. She had stopped mid-yard, like me, and was watching the boy’s progress. I waved to her and she smiled at me, and then we turned our attention back to the wabbit hunting.
He was trying so hard! It really was a sweet sight.
Well, he made it all the way down the yard (it took him a good ten minutes) and was just on the other side of the big bush the bunnies were sheltering under, when one of them spied him, and hopped off into the woods. The other bunny followed suite, at which point the b... | | By: Smoochmonkey

| | !WARNING! Do Not Take Your Better Half Game Hunting! | | 2006-11-28 20:13:00 | | Well the consumerist season is upon us. People spend more money between now and Christmas than they do the rest of the year but you already knew that.Of course what every gamer wants for Christmas is one of the latest consoles be it a Wii, PS3, 360 or even one of the handhelds like the Nintendo DS or PSP. There is a slight problem with this list of gaming jewels, two members are extremely hard to come by at the moment. My best friend Brad was out "Wii Hunting" on Saturday, running around all over town checking store after store looking for a console by the time he met up with me it was about 3:30 PM. He told me he had been looking all day with no luck. I then looked past him at his fiance who stood there with her arms crossed looking tired and none too happy with my buddy. You see Brad made a crucial mistake that most gamers make. When women go shoe shopping they often go to many different stores these stores however are often IN THE SAME MALL. Game stores however are often limited to one, two if it's a big mall. So game hunting often requires a lot of driving and disappointment.I can't see why any women would want to participate in a hunt for a product that will most likely be used by the dominant gamer in the house. So whether it's for a rare game or one of the hard to find consoles you are better off taking along your video game obsessed journalist friend than the women who can banish you to the couch.... | | By: From the Bottom Up | | |
