The problem is that if you rotate an image and save it, the icon will not be updated. So, all your portrait image icons will stay horizontal even after you rotated the image. Well, I have found a solution. and as with a lot of my solutions, it uses applescript. Download the applescript droplet from mediafire.com.When you drop an image onto the applescript, all it does is add an icon to the image file which is the same as the image. What you can do with this, is if you have images on your desktop, but have file icons disabled, you can apply an icon to the image really easily. Another way to achieve what the applescript does is to open an image in Preview, copy it to the clipboard and then manually edit the icon of the file by pasting the image in.
