| Japan keen on bioplastics, but implementation slow - A point of view! | | 2008-08-24 19:55:23 | | Japan is one of the hot spots today for using plant-based plastics, with grocery chains, car makers and electronics firms all taking a serious look at the materials, and
some, like Fujitsu Ltd., making a splash with a notebook personal computer housing made partially from corn-based polylactic acid (PLA) polymer.
Japanese firms are taking a keen interest [...]

| New Hot Button Issue: IEP Implementation Part II | | 2008-08-12 18:18:00 | | In the previous installment in this series, we discussed Van Duyn ex rel Van Duyn v. Baker Sch Dist 5J 481 F.3d 770, 47 IDELR 182 (9th Cir. 4/3/2007). In that decision, the Ninth Circuit majority found that minor discrepancies between the services actually provided and those specified in the IEP do not constitute a violation of IDEA. To constitute a violation, a school district’s failure to implement an IEP must be material, the court ruled. A material failure occurs, the Court said, "...when the services a school provides to a disabled child fall significantly short of the services required by the child's IEP." This came as pretty big news to many of us, including the dissenting judge on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals panel, who thought that the "rule" was that a district pretty much had to implement all of an IEP. We also pointed out that "rules' in special education law generally must be written in pencil and on scratch paper and placed in a looseleaf binder. | Example for the Implementation of an Interface Definition Component Usages Web Dynpro ABAP | | 2008-07-25 08:11:12 | | The example below illustrates the principle of the interface definition and implementation by means of an actual development situation. The static case described here is basically designed to demonstrate the principle; in the practice, it will be of limited use, because it requires all involved components of the using component to be known already at design time. And certainly, the implementation of interface definitions is most advantageous when this knowledge is missing at design time and the desired implementation of the interface is selected only at runtime. For more information on interface implementations, see the third part of this documentation: Dynamic Programming. A central Web Dynpro component for travel expense management uses different components with related detail information, among them the components for flights, hotels and rented cars. In an interface definition IF_TRAVEL_COSTS a node is defined, which contains two attributes for open and paid costs. Afte... | | By: Free SAP Netweaver Books,Projects And Faq's | | |

| Re: domain name expansion approved for implementation | | 2008-06-30 14:12:00 | | ICANN emailed me back and they said that the first-round application process for domain under the new system will begin in early 2009 and they told me to subscribe to the ICANN newsletter and news alerts to stay in touch with this subject, so I did that.I might be looking for business partners to get in on this with me. So that means we will be investing our own money on this, if interested let me know. If after lots of research I see a great opportunity here I will be investing lots of money.1) First thing would be to understand the obvious - existing competition in this space (the bulk domain purchasers) who will surely get screwed bigtime in their existing business once this system is implemented because the potential values of the sum of their existing purchases will drop to the floor, (i.e. if its the case that 97% of their purchases are like technologycomputersapple.com, etc etc those will be worthless). Think real estate here people, its like we have earth right now but lets say... | | By: Roland's Blog | | |

| domain name expansion approved for implementation | | 2008-06-27 19:45:00 | | This is huge news. ICANN just announced not too long ago that the proposal to change domain names has been approved (not fully approved yet though). Full article here. The proposed changes mean that the domain names will be open to any extension, i.e. instead of the regular 16 extensions (.com, .net, etc..) that exist right now. there will be an unlimited number of extensions (like .bank, .travel, .yourlastname). The 2nd major change is the domain character set will expand from just the regular English alphabet to include foreign characters like Chinese and Arabic. This has huge implications, like the obvious fake domains that get created i.e. shop.amazon, america.bank.ICANN will have a special initial domain name buying period so that special entities like cities and whatever can put a hold on whatever they want, like newyork.ny for example. I think they have to go through all the proposals they receive and accept them or reject them individually I don't know how they will do it exactly... | | By: Roland's Blog | | |

| UN Monitoring Team Report Highlights Problems Plaguing Implementation of Measures Against Al Qaeda and the Taliban | | 2008-05-30 23:06:57 | | The United Nations Al Qaeda/Taliban Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team issued its 8th report earlier this month reviewing the implementation by states of the UN measures against Al Qaeda and the Taliban. The report also highlights several problems that continue to reduce the effectiveness of these UN measures. Unlike the previous Monitoring Group on which I served, this team has shied away from drawing attention to specific violations of the UN measures. Nevertheless, their description...(read more)... | | By: An American Warning | | |

| Explicit Interface Implementation in c sharp | | 2008-05-26 03:38:00 | | In the implementation shown so far, the implementing class (Document) creates a member method with the same signature and return type as the method detailed in the interface. It is not necessary to explicitly state that this is an implementation of an interface; this is understood by the compiler implicitly. What happens, however, if the class implements two interfaces, each of which has a method with the same signature? This might happen if the class implements interfaces defined by two different organizations or even two different programmers. The next example creates two interfaces: IStorable and ITalk. The latter implements a Read() method that reads a book aloud. Unfortunately, this conflicts with the Read() method in IStorable. Because both IStorable and ITalk have a Read() method, the implementing Document class must use explicit implementation for at least one of the methods. With explicit implementation, the implementing class (Document) explicitly identifies the... | | By: dot net made easy | | |

| Important SECRETS TO A SUCCESSFUL SAP IMPLEMENTATION | | 2008-04-10 23:28:09 | | Many wonder what constitutes a successful SAP Implementation. Everyone wants to have a great success story to talk about, from the top management to the implementation consultant. Success is a relative term. You will hear: "Successfully went live on the planned date and on budget" - You should ask though whether the initial scope was implemented or did they have to take business processes out of scope in order to make it. - You should also ask how are things now that you went live? Can you ship to your customers without any problems? Is the system performing well? Are the end users fully trained and are they doing their job well? Do you still need consulting support to go through your day-to-day business?Once you put these questions into perspective you can really define a successful SAP Implementation in many ways and many levels.Success FactorsHere is a list of factors that determine the relative success of a project as mentioned above.1. | Web Dynpro ABAP Client Implementation | | 2008-03-24 13:19:16 | | The graphic below gives an outline of the concept of the client implementation: Depending on the rendering device selected, the central part of Web Dynpro runtime works together with a specific client implementation. If a browser is selected, the client implementation is server-side rendering (SSR). SSR then takes on the task of communicating with the client device. View elements are kept in user interface element libraries, see also Web User Interfaces. With Web Dynpro for ABAP, a browser is always used as the rendering device. Data, events, and layout information are converted on the server into HTML and JavaScript and transferred together. In the case of the browser, this is done mostly on the server; for instance, the whole layout is placed on the server. The browser itself does not take on many tasks. For example, it is responsible for ensuring that a tray or the nodes of a tree can be expanded and collapsed on the client. When data and events are called by Web Dynpro runt... | | By: Free Download SAP Netweaver Books,Projects And Int | | |

| Singleton pattern implementation in 4 steps | | 2007-05-30 15:41:00 | | The article describes very simple, fast and efficient way how to create class implementing Singleton design pattern. Everything is done in 4 steps using standard features of Eclipse IDE (refactoring and source code manipulation). But it is of course applicable for every IDE providing similar refactoring functionality.Steps:Create new empty 'SingletonClass' class - use New > Class action from popup menu over package or Ctrl+N shortcut. In the dialog just ensure that the source folder and project are specified and define the name of new class. Press Enter or click OK.From the body of the class invoke Source > Generate Constructors from Superclass... action, of course using Alt+Shift+S, C shortcut. In the following diaglog just press Enter or click OK. (This step can be done together with prvious step checking 'Constructors from superclass' option in the 'New Java Class' dialog). From the constructor signature definition (constructor name) invoke Refactor > Introduce Factory... actio... | | By: Daily Development | | |
