Time flys when work beckons and one is busy, busy, busy (or in my case, distracted by other things - like ebay).Ms G. has given TIDSTSRN the flick after concluding that its entire premise is destined to fail. Her summation is essentially as such:Internet dating requires a chemistry to be instantaneous, otherwise neither party agree to meet again. Thus, relationships formed under such circumstances are either 1. unhealthy or 2. unrealistic.There is a fascinating theory behind this, outlined in Jeffery Young's Schema book, which you may check out if you are interested.Really, the book should be called, "How you f-up in relationships and why" and it is very good if you have a pattern of dating bad men (or women), duds or other such losers. It outlines how we pick certain men (or women) based on a 'chemistry' which rather than being sexual or romantic in nature, is actually triggered by our 'schemas' (ways of understanding the world developed from childhood) and thus, makes us reenact destructive habit patterns throughout our lives.It is a very good and interesting theory, but of course, it doesn't go into why it is so hard to meet anyone reasonable to begin with, which is the main problem. People, I can't even tell you how many times Ms. G and I have kept seeing losers, people with seriously damaged frontal lobes and whatnot because we wanted to 'give people a chance'.
