Cheated John Edwards Had an Affair on Wife then Maybe a Baby with Woman Lost Respect Not for Cheating but How is Lying About it, Jon Edward
    2008-08-17 15:49:54
Former presidential candidate John Edwards cheated on his wife and maybe has a baby with that woman. I actually thought he was on of those who did not cheat but I was wrong. I am not surprised but then again surprised that John Edwards had an affair. What actually makes me not like him as much is his wife has cancer while he was having this affair. He said she was in remission during the affair I am thinking so what it gives you no excuse to do it. Interviews on this situation with talking abou...

    John Edwards: Priceless...
    2008-08-11 00:38:00
. . Heureusement qu'on ne lui a pas offer le Husband of the Year Award ...

Elizabeth Edwards’ Statement On John Edwards’ Affair
    2008-08-09 16:08:20
Elizabeth Edwards has written a diary on Daily Kos in which she addresses the political bombshell news that her husband John Edwards has now admitted to lying about an affair when he was running for the Democratic Presidential nomination in the primaries. It begins this way: Our family has been through a lot. Some caused by [...]...

Rielle Hunter and John Edwards: is it truth?
    2008-07-29 04:28:46
The former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, who is to be Barack Obama's running mate, got his private life a lot of attention. The National Enquirer tabloid report that former North Carolina senator was caught visiting a mistress at a Beverly Hills hotel. Enquirer reporters caught Edwards leaving the Beverly Hills Hilton while Rielle Hunter had a room at the hotel. America's political news websites claimed that John Edwards and Rielle Hunter were filmed entering the hotel room last night and Edwards was secretly visiting them. Rielle Hunter is a producer and has a video production company, which was hired by John Edwards on a six-month contract....

    John Edwards Endorses Barack Obama
    2008-05-14 22:19:00
Today in a suprise move John Edwards endorsed former rival Barack Obama. I'm not shocked by this endorsement as it becoming clearer that this party just doesn't want Hillary Clinton in it. The need for party unity is causing everyone to throw Clinton under the bus. It doesn't even matter at this point the math is clearly in Obama's favor as it has been since Feb. Clinton can't win, but it is symbolic that she is staying in this race and getting votes still. Democrats need to be careful, but ...

John Edwards To Endorse Barack Obama
    2008-05-14 17:36:12
This just in from the Department Of Things Happening Way To Late Too Late To Make A Serious Impact--John Edwards will endorse Barack Obama at an event in Grand Rapids, Michigan, tonight. Edwards becomes the third former candidate to endorse Obama, joining New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd. The move, however, comes more than a week after his home state of North Carolina held its primary and months after he abandoned his campaign following a disappointing showing in native South Carolina in January. With just five contests remaining, the endorsement doesn't significantly change the tight primary race between Obama and Hillary Clinton. Obama is already viewed by most Democrats as the likely nominee, while Clinton has made clear that she will state in the race at least through the beginning of June. Edwards' support for Obama is, however, yet another sign that the Democratic Party is beginning to unite behind its nominee. Depending on his level of inv...

John Edwards - damned if he does, damned if he doesn't!
    2008-05-09 16:35:08
Senator John Edwards isn't exactly sitting on the fence. That would put him slightly above the fray. No, I put him in the corner of the stockade with a fiesty filly on one side and a charasmatic steer on the other. Whichever way Edwards goes, he's bound to get kicked! In a People Magazine exclusive (as they say!) John and Elizabeth Edwards have been waxing in a fairly lyrical way about what they like (and dislike) about Clinton and Obama. All very good, but it's more that just curate's egg philosophy. It's really just saying they aren't telling us who they support. At least Jimmy Carter said everyone in his family was backing Obama, but he couldn't go that far (nudge, nudge; wink, wink) as he was a Super Delegate. So what is the bottom line? They can't say. After all North Carolina is John Edwards territory and it may be the spark that sets off a second revolution, so he's staying mute. The couple said they will not endorse either remaining candidate, saving their political capital for t...

Democrat John Edwards quitting - experts opinions
    2008-01-30 10:32:00
John Edwards would announce his decision to quit during a speech in New Orleans at 1 p.m. EST. Wednesday. But now there are a lot of opinions about this tough decision. Reuters write about his defeat in his native South Carolina to Obama and Clinton which could lead to this decision. Boston Globe discuss Edwards' humble roots, New York Times give us a survey of Edwards' democratic race in 2008 elections....

What South Carolina Means: John Edwards
    2008-01-24 05:56:00
(This is the first of a three-part series assessing the South Carolina Democratic primary. Today's installment is about John Edwards. I will write about Hillary Clinton on Friday and Barack Obama on Saturday.)-----Absent Hillary Clinton, John Edwards was supposed to be the frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination this year. A young and affable Southerner who was the Democratic Party’s vice presidential nominee just four years ago, John Edwards should have had the inside track to the nomination. He was a familiar face and emerged from the 2004 campaign less wounded than John Kerry. He had the unique ability to argue that he could win an election in a red state, owned the poverty issue, and had a sharp populist message that resonated with angry and anxious voters who were upset about the lack of affordable health care, the lack of consumer protections, and the perceived exploitation by “big oil companies, big drug companies, and big insurance companies.” And on ...

    John Edwards: Then and Now
    2008-01-01 10:52:00
The 7-10 wishes all of its readers a Happy New Year. While the real Christmas may have been a week ago, a second Christmas for politicos everywhere will take place in just two days: the Iowa caucuses. After crisscrossing the state and giving speeches, fundraisers, and interviews for the better part of 2007, the results and effectiveness of these efforts will finally be able to be ascertained.I've written a lot about the Clinton vs. Obama storyline, as those two candidates have generally led the Iowa polls for the past six months. However, one candidate is not going away. Assuming Bill Richardson, Chris Dodd, and Joe Biden don't gain any traction, this candidate is Hillary Clinton's best friend and Barack Obama's worst nightmare. This candidate is John Edwards, and what a journey he's had.Last February I wrote about Bloggergate and the political fallout involved. While this gave Edwards several days of bad press, this mini-brouhaha goes to show you that in politics, it's far better to make your mistakes and get your unflattering stuff out there for all to see a year before the election, rather than a month or even a week before. (Imagine where Mitt Romney would be right now had he addressed his Mormon faith last spring when nobody was paying attention! Mike Huckabee would probably be a nonstory right now!)In March, Edwards was befallen by a personal tragedy--this time involving his wife Elizabeth, who was diagnosed with inoperable cancer. I argued that Edwards should drop out of the race because he would run the risk of being seen as placing his political ambitions above his wife's health, a mindset that could destroy his chances with female voters. In July, I addressed the budding caricature of Edwards as an elite hypocrite who gets $400 haircuts and lives in a huge estate while claiming to be an advocate for the poor. Voters who are a bit more discerning may view the haircut and house size as nonstories, as most politicians probably live in large hou...

Two Americas: One Based on Reality, the Other Created in John Edwards’ Head
    2007-12-23 12:17:41
John Edwards has based his entire campaign on creating a mythical soup line America. While poor immigrants are literally trying to break into the County, John Edwards would have everyone believe that we all live in the biggest dump on the Planet. Evidently, John Edwards already thinks we are in a recession when there have been several quarters of phenomenal economic growth. Yes, I understand... John Edwards: The Movie (and other goodies)

Latest Iowa Poll (12/18) Has John Edwards Leading
    2007-12-18 21:03:39
The latest Iowa poll has John Edwards leading both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. In an InsiderAdvantage poll in Iowa, Edwards leads among (977) likely voters 30-26-24 over Clinton and Obama. John Edwards and Hillary Clinton Use their Spouses to Defend Them
    2007-12-18 09:38:25
How did we reach a point where spouses are now used to defend candidates running for President? Not only did Elizabeth Edwards come out this week again to attack Republicans, Bill Clinton also attacked Barack Obama. Not surprisingly, however, this new pathetic phenomenon is only being used by Democrats. I am dumfounded why the American people put up with this! It is as if their candidates are... John Edwards Watch: Part VI
    2007-09-27 22:00:00
-John Edwards took part in a dialogue hosted by MTV and MySpace to get in touch with younger voters, through answering question posed on his MySpace page and through MTV's website. He is the first presidential hopeful to do so. He unveiled a ten point agenda to appeal to students, including mentions of the crisis in Darfur and college aid.-For his performance in the Democratic presidential debate last night, Edwards has received positive reviews in the media. The Boston Globe said, that "John Edwards, by pointedly and directly drawing differences with front-runner Hillary Clinton, boosted his prospects to be the liberal alternative to the former first lady." He attacked Hillary Clinton on some of her war positions, putting her on the defensive, and drawing attention to himself as the alternative to Hillary, while Obama seemed to fall flat.-Elizabeth Edwards stepped up her criticism of Hillary Clinton's healthcare efforts when her husband was in office. In an interview with New York Daily News, Edwards said that "They lost the fight in 1993, pulled it out because they wanted to use their political capital to get NAFTA passed as opposed to universal health care in '94."...

John Edwards' Wife Denounces Moveon.org and Their Advertisement: John Edwards is a Silent Coward
    2007-09-23 23:02:36
UPDATE: MoveOn.org changed its Advertisement from 'betray us' to 'betrayal of trust;' this time referring to George Bush instead of General Petraeus. It appears that by attacking Petraeus, they have severely overplayed their hand. Now they will attempt to divert attention to George Bush, who is a much easier target for the people with Bush Derangement Syndrome ("BDS"). This will not work, however. Once you throw the skunk into the American People's homes, you can't get the stink out.Start of original editorial. In typical John Edwards fashion, Edwards is having his wife fight his battles for him. This has allowed him to take both sides on every issue because he can stay silent while his wife does the dirty work for him. He pulled this same nonsense before on the issue of gay marriage; his wife supports it, while he does not. This time, however, Elizabeth Edwards denounced Moveon.org and their shameful attack on General Petraeus. John Edwards is a pathetic excuse for a leader.In...

    John Edwards Watch: Part V
    2007-09-20 21:02:00
Elizabeth Edwards has made headlines once again by saying that Hillary's new healthcare plan is practically identical to her husband's plan, which he outlined over half a year ago: "Does Mrs. Clinton's plan seem very familiar to you? Mrs. Clinton has — seven and a half months after John unveiled his health care plan — unveiled a health care plan that is in every material respect just like John's," Edwards told Associated Press, calling Hillary's plan "John Edwards' health care plan as delivered by Hillary Clinton."She also made a good point about Hillary's campaign: "We would have expected her to be the first one out of the box, not the last one out of the box with a health care plan. And then for her to come up with one that looks like John's, it's almost as if she hasn't been willing to have the courage independently to be a leader on these things." You would think that Hillary would have presented a plan sooner (particularly because Edwards presented his own plan so early), since health care was her big mistake back when Bill was in office, but she waited a long time into the campaign, and the plan does in fact strikingly resemble John Edwards' plan, as he eagerly pointed out on Monday in an interview on NBC: "Her plan substantively is very similar to mine … so I guess I should be flattered that it’s pretty close to a copy of mine. I did this in February a month or a month and a half after I announced my campaign."Aside from this similarity and lax timing on Hillary Clinton's part, reviews of her healthcare plan have been largely neutral or positive, although some question the validity of the $110 billion dollar cost estimate that Hillary claimed....

    John Edwards Watch: Part IV
    2007-09-17 23:15:00
This morning, John Edwards attacked Hillary Clinton on her past healthcare mistakes, on the day she unveiled her new healthcare plan: "The cost of that failure 14 years ago is not just somebody's political fortune or their scars. It's the millions of Americans who have now gone for almost 15 years without health care...I don't believe you can sit down with lobbyists, take their money and cut a deal. If you defended the system that defeated health care, I don't think you can be the president who brings health care."Edwards also said that he plans to strip healthcare coverage from all members of Congress and all political appointees by July 2009 (six months into his term as president) unless universal health care is passed by then: "When their health care is personally at stake, they will respond," Edwards said. The gesture would only serve as a symbolic one, however, because presumably no such bill would ever get passed by Congress.-Edwards launched a contest for five supporters to win the chance to join him in some hard labor in New Orleans to rebuild the devastated city. Although a donation is strongly encouraged, you can enter without donating. The contest ends on September 30th....

    John Edwards Watch: Part II
    2007-09-13 20:23:00
With Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama enduring criticism from many about their dearth of firm statements against the war, John Edwards is stepping up to the plate by buying two minutes of airtime directly following George Bush's speech tonight on MSNBC to rebut Bush's speech and to encourage ending the war. This could mean a big boost of support for Edwards, if all goes well.I hypothesize that this might be just what Edwards needs to do to set himself apart from Hillary and Obama on this issue. Edwards has become increasingly vocal about his opposition to the war. This new "nationwide address," as his campaign's Senior Advisor calls it in the e-mail sent out to Edwards supporters, will garner publicity for him for all the right reasons, provided he doesn't get another $400 haircut in preparation for the speech!...

John Edwards Buys Ad to Rebut Bush on Iraq on MSNBC: MSNBC Still Refuses to Run Pro-War Ads
    2007-09-13 20:13:28
While MSNBC refuses to run pro-war advertisements, they have provided John Edwards a two-minute advertising slot to bash President Bush and rebut the War in Iraq. Yes, John Edwards has purchased two minutes of air time on MSNBC, scheduled to air after Bush's 15-minute televised speech from the White House at 9 p.m. EDT. This is nothing but a pathetic political ploy from a man who voted for the War.Embarrassingly, John Edwards has already taped the rebuttal, making this “rebuttal” an oxymoron. Notably, rebuttals are supposed to be responses to what someone else says, not something that is planned ahead of time. Moreover, there is no doubt that Edwards will have consultants write his entire script and everything will be choreographed. His hair will look impeccable.Nevertheless, I think it would be hilarious if George Bush got on television and started talking about something other than the Iraq War, like the weather or how happy he is that his daughter is getting married. Then ...

    John Edwards Watch: Part I
    2007-09-09 22:56:00
It's been a busy and successful week for John Edwards:-On Wednesday, Edwards told the returning Congress that Gen. Petraeus's report may be part of an "incredible PR campaign" to continue the war in Iraq.-On Thursday, Edwards gave a lauded speech in New York proposing a new counterterrorist organization.-Also on Thursday, the Transport Workers Union endorsed Edwards, stating that he is the most electable candidate from the Democrats' side, and that Edwards has the best chance of winning the general election.-On Saturday, he slammed Hillary Clinton on lobbyists and her so-called "experience."-Also on Saturday, Edwards stated that he would appoint members of the GOP in his cabinet if elected, once again driving home the point that he's a less polarizing candidate than Hillary Clinton....

John Edwards: Four Impressive Trials (Book Review)
    2007-09-04 12:49:00
Many political memoirs are written as rambling autobiographies, and tend to feel like long, tedious campaign speeches. However, John Edwards has managed to write (or co-write) a memoir of four memorable, victorious court trials that reads like short stories by John Grisham. Each trial is a heart wrenching story of decent people vs. negligence in the form of hospitals, a truck company, and a pool drain cover manufacturer. Each trial chapter begins with some personal anecdotes about Edwards' life. I counted seventeen references to the fact that his father was a mill worker. But whether it's due to a talented co-writer or a smart political move, these brief anecdotes are eloquently written and provide snapshots of who Edwards is, skirting the danger of coming off as too self-centered by spending too much time on himself. The saddest of the cases Edwards presents is a case of a doctor who neglected to do a C-section on the defendant although he was presented with glaring evidence that th...

John Edwards Tells American Middle-Class to Sacrifice their SUVs
    2007-08-30 14:40:17
John Edwards’ absolute arrogance and stupidity is no longer funny or cute. Today he asked a middleclass audience to sacrifice their sport utility vehicles. Clearly Edwards forgot the fact that many of these people use SUVs for their professions or to travel with large families. Even with this asinine statement, Edwards still believes he is “a man of the people.”If we outline all of John Edwards’ mishaps throughout his campaign, he should have dropped out months ago. Nevertheless, the liberal media continues to elevate this degenerate. Deep down the MSM want him to succeed and will take steps necessary to reach that end. When was the last time anyone heard the media mention that John McCain, who will probably drop out of the race in the next few months, has the same poll numbers as Edwards (around 11%)?Examining John Edwards’ record, nobody in their right mind would vote for him. The reptilian John Edwards: 1) Lives in one of the largest homes in the Country, yet says he is a ...

John Edwards’ 2008 Presidential Campaign Hopes are Over after Three Top Democrats Share Lead in Iowa Poll
    2007-08-04 01:47:58
If you were not convinced already that John Edwards, the charlatan, has no chance of defeating Hillary Clinton, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll has sealed his fate. The poll shows Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards in a virtual tie in the State of Iowa (27 percent said they would vote for Obama, 26 percent for Clinton and 26 percent for Edwards). While this may seem like a meaningless poll this early in the race, it is not. John Edwards needed to be ahead by at least ten-points to have a chance at the Presidency.A ten-point lead would have provided Edwards with the momentum to overcome the impossibility of him defeating Hillary or Obama in other states. Edwards thought that if he strategically targeting the State of Iowa, he could still be successful with fewer resources than the other Candidates. This is analogous to Mitt Romney of the Republican Party, whose son has visited every county in the State. But, unlike Mitt Romney, John Edwards botched his chances gaini...

    The Press vs John Edwards
    2007-07-21 18:09:13
Many seem to be of the opinion that the national press corp doesn't like John Edwards. Which I can understand as as I don't much care for him myself. However since I don't have a really strong feeling about him or any major factual basis for my dislike I keep it to myself. Hence, I originally blew off the idea until I read this today from the NY PostEDWARDS GOT RICH HURTING THE POORby Charles HurtTrailing in the polls, John Edwards spent the past week telling the poor and downtrodden how much he cares about them. He even insisted that his Kennedy-esque "poverty tour" was not part of his campaign to capture the White House. Yeah, just like all those years he spent latched to the back bumper of an ambulance were all out of the goodness of his heart. That and the $38 million fortune he amassed as the most successful personal-injury lawyer in North Carolina history. What made Edwards such a brilliant attorney - and a pretty good politician - is his ability to look you in the eye whi...

Ann Coulter and John Edwards in a Cat Fight
    2007-06-27 23:42:00
Ann Coulter is certainly one of the most controversial figures in the political domain today. Few people are as concurrently loved and vilified. In a strange way, she is like a thin Rosie O’Donnell with intelligence and a factual basis for her arguments. Nevertheless, I sometimes wonder if she helps or hurts the Conservative movement. First, I must mention that I have read many of Ann Coulter’s books and enjoy listening to her satire. She makes brilliant observations, and her chapter about Willie Horton in “Godless” was very enlightening. But, for every profound statement she makes, she follows it up with two or three statements that make me cringe more than someone scratching a chalkboard. For example, when Coulter argued that liberals often hide behind victims in order to gain immunity from political criticism, I absolutely agreed with her. She was referring to the fact that the left buttresses people like Cindy Sheehan, the Jersey Girls, and other victims of trag...
