Accepting Food: Personal Journey With Weight Loss And Food
    2008-08-12 10:39:00
I'm very happy to publish a very personal journal from "Sandi" a lady that is involved with Dr. Heidi Dulay's ER fat burning program. This is Sandi's letter to all the participants in the August program, it really touched my heart. I know there are many people that feel the same way Sandi does (did) about food and weight so this is for all of you. Thank you Sandi for allowing me to share your story. From Sandi in her exact words:Hi all,I thought I would write a note about what Dr. Heidi and I discussed briefly on Saturday on the call about my body not accepting fats and oils. I'm writing to everyone because someone else might be dealing with the same issues I am, so maybe it'll be helpful to you.I spent my youth and into my early twenties with an eating disorder. I would binge for a day or two and then stop eating for days at a time. It's a combination of bulimia and anorexia, but I didn't throw up, I just stopped eating. Anyway, I completely messed up my body chemistry with that form o

The journey------> center of the earth
    2008-08-10 08:02:00
Watched this movie Journey to the Center of the Earth just now at Bugis, oh man it was a great choir watching this. (No worries, no spoilers involved) Starring Brendan Fraser (same man as The Mummy), Josh Hutcherson, Anita Briem as the 3 main cast. I won't tell the story here but will just say the plot was planned, with little time to relax in between and peppered with several laughable points.

Playing Native American Flutes For A Unique Spiritual Journey
    2008-08-04 00:00:00
Native American flutes are extremely popular for use in ceremonies and rituals, or as home decor collection pieces. I have always enjoyed Native flute music for its pleasing sound quality and ability to bring a tranquil calm to the atmosphere where it is played. Hearing Native flutes always reminds me of my mother’s kitchen where [...]

A Fighter's Heart: One Man's Journey Through the World of Fighting In 1999, after a series of wildly adventurous jobs around the world, Sam Sheridan found himself in Australia, loaded with cash and intent on not working until he’d spent it all. It occurred to him that, without distractions, he could finally indulge a long-dormant obsession: fighting. Within a year, he was in Bangkok training

For those with fromage on the mind, you're probably already familiar with the likes of Gordonzola. A cheesemonger who's been "working for the past 12 yrs with San Francisco's largest independent grocery store." He definitely has a lot to say about curds n' whey.Recently he returned from a week long buyers trip to France and took some MAGNIFICENT pictures of many of the factories that produce some of the most popular imported cheeses around. My personal favorite, the mimolettes getting a brine bath. (I'm drooling on my keyboard right now.)

    Long Night's Journey Into Morning
    2008-07-16 10:14:00
The longest All-Star Game in history was played last night at that dump in the Bronx that has a date with the wrecker's ball after this season. The American League came out on top, 4-3 in 15 innings on Michael Young's sacrifice fly to score Justin Morneau with the winning run. (Reminded me of the Sid Bream play that won the pennant for the Braves in 1992.) J.D. Drew was voted the game's MVP, as he hit a two-run homer in the 7th inning to tie the game at 2. (Isn't that a great picture of him? I love it when Red Sox players do well at that joint. The last All-Star Game at the alleged "Cathedral of Baseball" and the MVP award was won by someone on the Red Sox. Sweet.)The game took five hours to play and featured all kinds of action, especially in extra innings, like the NL getting out a bases loaded, no outs jam in the 10th, and the AL getting a runner thrown out at home. Both teams ran out of players (Drew came up to bat 5 times), and Scott Kazmir pitched the 15th inning (after going las

'Journey to the Center of the Earth'
    2008-07-11 03:04:09
Journey to the Center of the Earth: Action. Starring Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson and Anita Briem. Directed by Eric Brevig. (PG. 92 minutes. At Bay Area theaters. For complete movie listings and show times, and to buy tickets for select theaters, go to sfgate.com/movies.)Living at a time when any spectacle imaginable can be put onscreen, action filmmakers have only their good taste to restrain them. It's so easy to dream up monsters and so hard to devise stories and characters. Add into the equation an audience that will flock to whatever makes the biggest noise - not to mention a critical community that often seems willing to lobotomize itself so as to get into the spirit - and it becomes a wonder that anything as satisfying and sensible as "Journey to the Center of the Earth" ever gets made. No, it's not some earnest dud. "Journey" is a legit action movie with action sequences, imaginative action set pieces and even one or two monsters. It has the wonderful gimmick of 3-D - still a

Former New York Giants defensive lineman George Martin completed an historic journey on Saturday, as he walked completely across the United States to bring more awareness and raise money for those ill first responders from the World Trade Center disaster. He was originally going to walk from the George Washington Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge, but altered the route and finished in San Diego instead. He began his 3,000+ mile trek across the country last September 16th, and in the process, lost 41 pounds, went through 27 pairs of sneakers and dozens of pairs of socks. He encountered driving rain storms, heat, driving winds and freezing temperatures. But he also raised over $2 million dollars for those sick 9/11 responders.George Martin is truly one of America's heroes, and someone the NFL can really be proud of.His web site for the walk is: http://www.ajourneyfor911.infoCongratulations George, on a job well done.

Abdominoplasty - A Journey From Flabulous To Fabulous
    2008-06-16 00:22:00
Michelle weighed 250 pounds at the age of 18. At school, she was nicknamed ‘Permanently Pregnant’. The moniker made her find some excuse or another to miss school and put on more weight. She felt absolutely ravaged. One day as she gazed at herself in the mirror, Michelle realized she needed help. She told her mother about how she felt. Her mom initially thought that plastic surgery procedures like tummy tuck and liposuction would help her daughter regain her confidence. But due to her daughter’s tender age, she thought it best that Michelle lose some pounds through work outs. She immediately took steps and enrolled Michelle in a program to lose weight. Thanks to years of maintaining her weight with her mother’s support, Michelle lost 55 pounds before her 24th birthday. But, something still spoilt the effect of her weight loss - her sagging skin. She wasted no time and got in touch with us at the Plastic Surgery Institute of California. Our consultants advised he

    Mental Health Journey
    2008-06-13 10:19:00
With my blog being featured over at The Experience Project I think this is a good time to reintroduce myself. Many of the major areas of my life have been detailed to a certain degree throughout the brief history of this blog but I will use this post as a way to summarize my journey so far.I have been dealing with depression for as long as I can remember. My family history has mental illness on both sides going back for generations. Chances are I was depressed the day I came out of the womb and have been unable to get rid of this silent monster since.Self harm started when I was seven or eight with the intention of punishing myself so I would be a "good" child and maybe people in my life would finally leave me alone. Needless to say this did not work. When I was twelve or so I tried to end my life and somewhere in the process I realized that as the blood left my body a sort of cleansing occurred which seemed to make me feel better. What I did not realize is this new monster would

June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Ward's judges presented the all-new 2009 Dodge Journey crossover a special achievement award, "Clever Utility," for its well-thought-out and smartly integrated interior features at the 2008 Ward's Auto Interiors Show -- the publication's annual auto interior event."'Extreme functionality' sums up one Ward's judge of the Dodge's flexible interior," said David E. Belgium: Dodge wants you to steam up the windows in the Journey
    2008-06-01 18:36:00
When we read the tip from reader Thijs B. telling us that in Belgium, Dodge is planning a Journey launch promo centered around backseat baby-making, we thought it was a big joke. So we started using our Google powers to see what else we could dig up. And guess what? It's legit. If you go to babymadeonboard.be, you'll be greeted by the screen above, which features a play on those annoying "Baby On Board" window signs that were ubiquitous during the 80s. It's paired with a countdown timer that will zero out on the weekend of June 14, which is when the Dodge Journey officially launches in Belgium. A quick WHOIS lookup on DNS.be reveals that the site's domain name is registered to someone at the Brussels office of Proximity BBDO, a BBDO partner. BBDO is Chrysler's ad agency.More Googling led us to a Dodge press release posted on a Belgian media portal. The car is being targeted toward men, and its launch slogan roughly translates to "Become a father, stay a man." According to the PR, Dodge

From Paris to Jordan – Chantelle’s Plastic Surgery Journey
    2008-05-21 23:46:00
Once upon a time a girl from Essex looked like a wealthy heiress named Paris Hilton. She was so good at it that she modeled as a look-alike for the poor little rich girl (who was so very spoilt) and was ‘affectionately’ called Paris Travelodge. Today, Chantelle Houghton has transformed herself into the overtly buxom Katie Price and has her own look-alike courtesy the very same modeling agency she used to work for. And all this was because of some cosmetic surgery work in choice parts of her body. But be warned readers, Chantelle is an excellent example of plastic surgery gone overboard. Or should we say a breast augmentation junkie? The first non-celebrity to star in Celebrity Big Brother (2006), Chantelle quickly rose in ranks to become the winner of the reality TV show. According to her, the failed marriage and subsequent split from fellow contestant Samuel Preston triggered her breast augmentation surgery motivations. So Chantelle went on from a 32B to a 32DD and att

This is my venture to take. Not being able to take this journey by boat or plain, for you see life itself won’t grant me such a pleasure. Instead I’ll travel to where you are by gently guiding the tip of my finger across an ink embedded picture of our distant worlds. Touching ever so gently, so to not change the sands of time. Resting upon your world, visions of each detailed word you wrote to me rush across my mind like a movie. My dearest friend; with hair kissed by the sun and heavenly portholes depicting tropical waters. Please know that a piece of me is with you, beside your ocean; under a century old tree with secrets to tell. My un-

    Journey of the 29th Week
    2008-04-25 10:56:26
Little pumpkin girl, here we are in the middle of the 29th week of our journey. We’ve experienced so much this week. Like what? We travelled on four planes. It doesn’t seem like you enjoyed the take offs or landings, kicking about when the plane rises and falls. You met your Aunties (DB, Shanns and ‘Berta), your Grammy and Grampy, and my old work mates, as well as your Dad’s friends. And your first visit to the hair salon, Rumours, to meet Katherine, the only person I trust with my hair. She’s got style. All the food! Greek. Indian. Feta. Butter chicken. Gingerbread pudding. And later, chocolate cupcakes with pink fluffy icing. Back at home, you had a prenatal checkup. Everything’s on target. You had your first massage and we visited a dizziness clinic, too. At week 29, you dream. I wonder what you dream about? Are they connected with mine? Or are they of a world I no longer recall?

    A Pre-Schooler's Journey to Disbelief
    2008-04-22 12:06:00
(Via Elles)I often get asked why I’m an Atheist. That’s why I’ve decided to go ahead and do a post for Coming Out Godless and for this blog so that I can just give people linkage and they’ll know. I was a child of Atheist parents. I, like all other children, came into the world with no concept of God whatsoever. I was unaware of my parent’s lack of belief for some time, though. When I was… well, I don’t remember at all how old I was, I went to a Montessori school for pre-school. The teacher was a very nice evangelical Chinese woman. It was there that I first learned what God was. I was excited my first day there. There was loads of fun games to play, nice people to play them with, picture books… And then we sat down to lunch. I was ravenous, so I went ahead, opened up my lunchbox, and started shoveling food into my mouth. “What are you doing?!” came a harsh whisper. I looked up from my food to see everybody’s heads bowed along with the teacher. “She hasn’t fin

    Journey of Harmony
    2008-04-20 23:49:05
Weee I'm so proud that KL is among the international cities outside China to host the Olympics Torch Relay. The theme for the relay is "Journey of Harmony" and the relay in KL will be tomorrow! Journey of Harmony- how ironic. Considering that there are many controversies, protests and boycotts. The relay starts at Dataran Merdeka and ends at (surprise surprise) KLCC. Gah. Someone please remind me to go back early tomorrow. As much as I want to see the last runner carrying the torch, I very much would like to avoid the crowd.Road closures are expected and people are advised to use alternative roads or public transport tomorrow. People, pls use alternative roads k? Or buses. Dont flood the trains. Or stay and watch the torch relay until it finishes.Off to bed. Long boring day tomorrow. And another long day of faking a smile. When will things get back on track again?Kindly ignore my previous hateful post. I've been really cranky for the past few days. Another Arduous Day's Journey Into Night
    2008-04-16 23:45:00
Oh brother, another four hour plus game between the Red Sox and Yankees.Yep, they got together again and played another game that went on forever. No one pitched well, especially both starters, and it turned into a slugfest, with the Yankees winning, 15-9. Clay Buchholz, Julian Tavarez and Mike Timlin all got rapped around, with Tavarez getting the loss. One of the biggest cheers of the night at Professor Thom's was when Red Sox reliever David Aardsma hit Alex Rodriguez with a pitch. It was that kind of night. The Red Sox go for the split of the two-game series, with Commander Kick Ass of the F**k Yeah Brigade looking to get the Red Sox even before they head back to Boston.

The Ghost That Started My Journey
    2008-04-12 22:25:25
Caution: As the title somewhat implies, what follows is a creepy true ghost story.*****I was 21 and I didn’t believe in ghosts. I believed in science and all the wonderful things that science could prove. Then one day my brother-in-law, Greg, told me a “true story” about his youngest sister Caroline. According to Greg, when Caroline was seventeen, she woke up one morning to find a mysterious entry in the diary she kept on her bedside table. Not only was the handwriting unfamiliar, the subject matter spoke intimately about an affair her older sister Alison was having with a well-respected married man in the community. Why and how this scandalous information had ended up in Caroline’s diary, she hadn’t a clue. Even more importantly, was it true? Caroline immediately went to Alison, handed her the diary, and was soon the target of angry accusations. How dare she take (Alison's) personal diary and read it. And how dare she copy one particularly intimate passage (of Alison's diary

This Jason loved the camera so much... hahaha.. he giggled a lot when we took his pictures... aah so cute! Jason wanted to be carried by my hubby and refused his daddy.. hahaha.. he even kissed my hubby without being told to! He can win our heart so easily!I brought famous brownies from Bandung for Juliana, and adobe photoshop CS3 program for her and Jeanne, so they can start learning to make digital-scrapbook very soon ya! *wink* Thanks to Juliana, she didn't mind to bring something for Jeanne.

A Committed Relationship Is The Key To A Profound Spiritual Journey
    2008-04-05 23:30:24
Commitment - A Profound Spiritual JourneyBy Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD. on EVLiving.com [5th April, 2008] A committed relationship is the most profound spiritual journey that you can undertake. By being able to love and care for someone with an open heart, you will find that you reach a greater level of personal transformation. You will evolve along your path and learn powerful lessons about yourself that you might not otherwise be able to do on your own.Loving and committing to another person is a spiritual process whether you have a wedding or another form of commitment. Often times when entering into a relationship you allow your emotions to take you forward without thinking about the depth and breadth involved in a true commitment. If you understand that sharing your life with another person is not based on love alone, but also on the hard work of being able to compromise and enter into a dialogue with them. Dialoguing with your partner is the key to having a successful relationsh

Breakdown Cover - Ensuring Hassle Free Journey
    2008-03-11 04:07:31
One of the worst nightmares of people around the world is the time when their car would breakdown in the middle of a journey. Situation gets even more difficult when one does not know how to repair the technical snag. And if one's family is also accompanying him then the plight of such unfortunate person can easily be understood. It is to help all such people that breakdown cover was devised. It ensures that people get help on the spot or at least from the nearest garage, depending upon the facilities promised by the service provider. People can also be ferried to their destinations or made to stay in a hotel as per the contract. The importance of such a service is immense. Particularly for people who have to travel long distance it is a god send as they are the one's who stand to gain maximum from it. The biggest advantage of such a service is that people stand to get the help of a mechanic on the spot anywhere in UK. However, it must be remembered that the services provided differ fro

The Journey Back: Retracing One's Steps
    2008-03-06 01:29:00
The second stroke was a bit more devastating than the first. In fact it made our family realized that the first attack was a walk in the park. Life changed for us. And it is difficult to retrace back our lives before the second stroke. The journey back is no longer possible...While we were given the miracle of life for Nanay (for which we are truly thankful), we came to terms that it will be a different life this time. Even though we prepared ourselves to brace for days that means a lot of caring and loving and understanding, we were not ready for feeling twice the pains that Nanay has to suffer. And for once in our lives, we tried to be as selfless as possible for it is the only way for all of us to survive and find some happiness in our present situation...And we are thankful that as the days passed, we are brought more closer than ever. Only the routines have changed. And even if life's twists are truly twisted, thank God for some miracles!

recent incident of disproportionate and indiscriminate killing of civilians by israeli defence forces in Gaza, Palestine saddened me beyond words. this is by no means a new thing. yet as i follow world news quiet regularly, i couldn't help myself not to bleed internally when i saw the missiles killed along with many children, infants as young as five months old who has nothing do to with these mindless violence.ironic sad part is that the militants who are really responsible for firing missiles to israeli side got away and when their abandoned office were hit with missile, nobody was there. the story goes with one third of who killed by israeli attack are civilian including children and women. many are still suffering in hospitals and many will die as the hospitals are always short of supply of medicine and equipment due to check posts and constant blockade. The people of Gaza have been blockaded, uprooted, starved, and silenced ... and now they are being massacred.
